Cinema Rediscovered on Tour The fact that Cinema Rediscovered is celebrating its 10th anniversary edition is itself testament to audiences’ renewed appetite for rediscovering film’s rich history. When we started, there were limited theatrical rereleases of restorations which was part of the motivation to launch the festival. We have been delighted to see how much the landscape has changed and how attendances have grown for rep films for the festival, the tour and beyond. I discovered him because my favorite directors are the Coen Brothers, and their favorite director is him. This film is one of his most underrated; a screwy, comic examination of ego, jealousy, and toxic masculinity that takes Rex Harrison’s debonair image and turns it on his head. A brilliant use of score and sound to tell the story of a plotting conductor, the movie is a very slow build that dramatically constructs a man’s hasty thoughts to one of the funniest and most exciting climaxes – truly an incredible payoff. I love it so much".

Ghost in the Machine is a gripping and urgently relevant investigative documentary that exposes the buried history of artificial intelligence, not as a neutral system of algorithms, but as a technology shaped by racism, misogyny, eugenics, and entrenched structures of power long before it entered everyday life.
