OLE MISS VIRGINIA

Ole Miss produced 480 yards of offense to LSU’s 254 as the Rebels took down the thenNo. 4 Tigers, 24-19.

LSU came within five after a touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, but Ole Miss, which jumped to No. 4 in this week’s AP poll, drained the clock and put the game away. Quarterback

Trinidad Chambliss passed for 314 yards and a touchdown, becoming the first SEC player with 300 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in three straight games in 30 years.

Ole Miss hosts Washington State on October 11 at 9:45 a.m. PHX time on SEC Network.

In a double-overtime thriller, Virginia sealed its 46-38 upset victory over then-No. 8 Florida State with an interception in the endzone by cornerback Ja’Son Prevard.

The Cavaliers, ranked No. 24 in this week’s AP poll, picked up their first home win over a top 10 opponent since 2005.

Florida State came into the game averaging 58 points and 628.7 yards per game, but the Virginia defense forced three turnovers and five tackles for loss. Quarterback Chandler Morris matched his career best with five touchdowns, including three rushing.

Virginia is on the road at Louisville this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PHX on ESPN2.

#3 MIAMI AT #18 FLORIDA STATE

For its third game in a row against an in-state foe, Miami travels to Tallahassee for a primetime matchup at No. 18 Florida State. The Canes lead the all-time series against the Seminoles, 36-33, heading into this year’s contest.

Miami is coming off a bye week, preceded by a 26-7 takedown against Florida at Hard Rock Stadium. The Canes’ defense held the Gators to just 141 yards, while the offense racked up 344 total yards on 76 plays. Notably, running back Mark Fletcher rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown while Marty Brown rushed for 80 yards and two scores. Florida State is looking to bounce back after falling at Virginia in its ACC opener.

The matchup kicks off on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PHX on ABC.

Ashton Jeanty

Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty notched three touchdowns against the Chicago Bears, including a statement 64-yard run to the end zone. Jeanty recorded 138 yards on 21 carries, averaging nearly seven yards per carry.

In the first-ever College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl last year, Jeanty recorded 104 yards rushing for Boise State – his 14th game of the season rushing for more than 100 yards. The Heisman Trophy runner-up finished the year with 2,739 yards from scrimmage, climbing into third place in single-season yards from scrimmage in NCAA history.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr. recorded a career-high 214 receiving yards and two touchdowns when the Jayhawks faced Cincinnati on Saturday. On the game’s first play from scrimmage, quarterback Jalon Daniels connected with Henderson for a 93-yard score to give the Jayhawks the early lead.

An Alabama transfer, Henderson became the fourth Kansas player in program history to record multiple 90yard plays in his career. His 214 receiving yards were the fifth-highest by a KU receiver in a single game.

In a 55-26 win at Florida Atlantic, running back Greg Derosiers Jr. rushed for a career-high 204 yards and three touchdowns. Derosiers Jr. became the second player in FBS this season to surpass 200 yards on the ground.

Derosiers Jr.’s 90-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the longest rush by a Memphis player since the 1966 season. He was named the American Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

The Rate Bowl will once again feature Bowl Season’s only Big Ten vs. Big 12 matchup at a new time of 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 26. As we eagerly await kickoff in downtown Phoenix, we’re bringing you weekly game highlights, player reports and other updates from the two conferences. Here’s the BIG news for Week 6:

BIG 12 BIG TEN

• No. 1 Ohio State is on top of the AP poll for the fifth straight week, with No. 2 Oregon, No. 7 Penn State, No. 8 Indiana, No. 20 Michigan and No. 22 Illinois rounding out the six Big Ten teams ranked in this week’s poll

• Illinois quarterback Luke Altmeyer accounted for four touchdowns and 359 yards of offense in Illinois’ 34-32 win against then-No. 21 USC and become the first player with 300+ passing yards and a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown in a Big Ten game in at least 30 years

• Drake Lindsey, the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, became the first Minnesota quarterback since 1995 to have 30+ completions, 324 passing yards and three touchdowns in a single game

• Ohio State’s Caden Curry was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after recording personal bests of 11 tackles, nine solo tackles and five tackles for loss at Washington as the Buckeyes held the Huskies to six points and 234 yards of offense

• Oregon quarterback Dante Moore completed 29-of-39 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns in the Ducks’ double overtime win at Penn State. The victory marked the program’s eighth win over a top-three opponent and the first on the road since 2021

• Four Big 12 teams are ranked in this week’s AP Top 25. Leading is No. 11 Texas Tech followed by No. 14 Iowa State, No. 23 BYU and No. 25 Arizona State

• BYU, Houston, Iowa State and Texas Tech give the Big 12 four teams with 4-0 starts to the season for the first time since 2015

• Arizona State’s eight consecutive wins over conference opponents, including the 2024 Big 12 Championship, marks the longest such streak among all Power Four programs

• Cincinnati kicker Stephen Rusnak is the only kicker in FBS who has not missed a field goal since the beginning of the 2024 season, posting a 17-for-17 mark during that stretch

• Big 12 defenses have accounted for 46 interceptions this season, most of any FBS conference

• Sawyer Robertson had 393 passing yards and four touchdown passes in Baylor’s win at Oklahoma State. His performance marked his fifth-straight game with at least three passing touchdowns, the longest streak by a Big 12 quarterback since Kyler Murray in 2018

• Arizona State and Kansas will square off in the first-ever Union Jack Classic at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sept. 19, 2026 in a conference matchup

2025 RATE BOWL TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR DECEMBER 26 COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWL SEASON CONTEST IN DOWNTOWN PHOENIX

College football fans and family-oriented community event seekers can now lock in their seats for Arizona’s college football Bowl Season action, as tickets for the 2025 Rate Bowl are on sale today.

The game is the college football postseason’s only Big 12-Big Ten matchup, with the 36th annual Rate Bowl kicking off on December 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. MST at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

A variety of Rate Bowl ticket options, including individual tickets, group tickets, premium experiences and parking, are available through the Fiesta Sports Foundation Ticket Office at fiestasportsfoundation.org/tickets and by reaching out to 480.350.0911 or tickets@fiestasports.org.

FIESTA SPORTS FOUNDATION ELEVATES GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL WITH CREATION OF IN-SEASON FIESTA BOWL COPPER STATE INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

The Fiesta Sports Foundation continues its efforts to advance the sport of girls flag football in the state of Arizona by forming a new midseason tournament. The inaugural Fiesta Bowl Copper State Invitational will feature a pool-play tournament with the top two teams from each bracket advancing to a single elimination playoff.

Held on October 9 and October 11 at Arizona State University Recreation & Sports Fields at Dorsey, the Fiesta Bowl Copper State Invitational begins on Thursday, October 9, at 2 p.m. with a matchup featuring defending 6A state champion Hamilton facing 4A runner-up Prescott on North Field. Pool play continues October 9 and the morning of October 11, with the top two teams from each bracket advancing to a single elimination playoff. The championship begins at 5:15 p.m. on South Field.
