LECHE FLAN

Having dessert is one of the best feelings one can have after a hot day. Whatever you feel is your own finishing touch to a dish is what makes creativity endless.

This is a classic popular Filipino custard made with love for a total of 6 people.

But as much as it might be difficult to get tired of this sweet treat, there are other variations you might want to consider trying to make yourself!

BAKING MATERIALS

Using all 10 eggs, seperate the egg yolks & from the egg white. (only egg yolks will be used)

Place the egg yolks in a big bowl and then beat them using a fork or an egg beater!

Once the eggs are beaten, add in the condensed milk and mix it throughly.

Pour in the evaporated milk and vanilla extract. Make sure to mix well!

Place your llanera on top of a stove and set to a low setting.

Put in your granulated sugar on the llanera and mix throughly until the solid sugar turns liquid brown.

Spread the caramel (liquad sugar) evenly across on the flat side of your llanera.

Cover the top of your llanera using aluminum foil.

Steam the foiled llanera filled with your egg yolk and milk mixture for 30 to 35 minutes.

Set a timer for FIVE minutes and once your timer goes off, pour your egg yolk and milk mixture onto the llanera.

Serve for dessert to your party of 6 people. Share and enjoy!

PASTILLAS Sweet

milk candies that are usually served for dessert. An authentic recipe will require the use of Carabao's (water buffalo) milk and cooking is also neccessary.

What we have here is a no-cook quick and easy dessert recipe intended to satisfy your cravings right away for 8 people.

BAKING MATERIALS

Gradually fold in the powdered milk. The texture of the mixture is similar to dough once the milk is added.

Scoop some of the mixture and mold them into cylinders.

Roll each molded cylindrical mixture on granulated sugar.

Optional but recommended! Wrap in paper or cellophane.

Serve for dessert to your party of 8 people. Share and enjoy!

CHICKEN ADOBO

An authentic Filipino dish and is one of the mostly recognized Filipino foods. Not to be mistaken with Mexican adobo, this dish is uniquely prepared by stewing chicken in vinegar and soy sauce.

Chicken slices cooked in soy sauce and vinegar with garlic. This is a delicious Filipino chicken dish that you can eat for lunch with warm white rice.

COOKING MATERIALS

Heat a cooking pot of preferably medium size. Pour cooking oil.

Add dried bay leaves and whole peppercorn. Simmer for 30 minutes

When the oil is hot enough, put in your marinated chicken to pan-fry for 2 minutes per side.

Pour in the remaining marinade, including the garlic. Add water and bring to a boil.

Add in vinegar. After doing so, let simmer for at least 10 minutes.

Put in the sugar and salt. After doing so, stir and mix well. Turn the heat off.
