In each newsletter we are going to feature a recipe that has been randomly selected from someone in our Ferran Family. If you would like to submit a recipe please email cmartinez@ferran-services.com

This Quarter’s recipe is Buckeye Candy by Kaysen Thurber:

For over 40 years, my family has kept a treasured holiday tradition alive, making Buckeye Candies. It began with my grandmother and mother, who started making them for friends and family.

What started as a few dozen has grown into a beloved family ritual of making 600 to 900 pieces each December.

Now I continue this tradition with my daughters. Each year we gather in the kitchen with holiday music playing, dipping and rolling with love and laughter. I’m excited to bring some in this December to share and hope they bring to everyone the warmth and joy they bring to our family.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 Cups Peanut Butter

• 1 Stick Melted Butter

• 1 Box/Bag of Sifted Powdered Sugar

• 1 Bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions:

1) In a large bowl, sift powdered sugar. Add peanut butter and melted butter, stir. Mix until smooth. Pinch a small amount and roll into bite sized balls. Consistency is key and more powdered sugar or peanut butter may be necessary

Too sticky= Needs more powdered sugar

Too dry= More butter or peanut butter

2) Place on parchment lined baking sheet.

3) Melt the chocolate chips in double boiler on stove.

4) Use either a toothpick or fondue fork to partially dip peanut butter balls in melted chocolate.

5) Place in freezer for 20 minutes to chill. Once cool, store in the fridge.
