La Balconera Commons
These perspective drawings reference La Blanconera by Natura Futura Architects as a precedent Located in Montalvo, Ecuador, the family home was refashioned into a community hub/residence, defined by a permeable façade that branches the interior to public realm. Our rendition proposes a vertical extension through additional communal and residential levels Notably, a flexible third-floor gathering space and reading nook connect to an enlarged patio, reinforcing the building’s visual dialogue with the streets

Ears of the Forest
This architectural intervention serves as a listening conduit for a biophony the collective sounds of non-human organisms within a habitat Located on the UBC Farm, it features an elevated walkway that guides visitors from farmlands into a forest enclave Along the walkway, two listening pavilions provide spaces to observe, listen, and engage with the surrounding ecosystem
Lined with salal berry bushes that attract/shelter birds throughout the seasons, the installation concentrates avian movement and song, acting as a catalyst for ecological interaction In an age of ecological disconnection and species loneliness, Ears of the Forest facilitates a renewed relationship with nature through a symbiotic engagement with our avian neighbours

The Contested Assemblage
This conceptual proposal translates the restless drive to impose order amid uncertainty into three-dimensional form It is composed of abstracted hands oriented outward from a chaotic central network, symbolizing the urge to assert control in response to instability Larger protruding triangular elements mark moments of temporary calm; however, they remain connected to the surrounding network, reinforcing the idea that control is never fully sustained
Dimensions: 40 × 40 × 40 cm Medium: Wooden dowels
Touchscape
This exploration examines the gap between visual perception and tactile qualities of texture Inspired by a plastic object whose chipped paint appeared rough but felt unexpectedly smooth, the project inverts expectations by translating perceived texture into touch. Manipulated chipboard, sanded, etched, and perforated, forms a tactile “landscape” that exaggerates surface variation When assembled, the model recalls the texture and form of the original object, guiding visual anticipation of touch Once disassembled, the components simply become abstract fields of texture for sensory engagement

The Nomadic Scholar
This narrative isometric traces my movement through the home during an assignment, portraying the domestic space in a temporal state. Areas typically associated with routine kitchen counters, living spaces, and floors are reactivated as sites of work, illustrating the home as a fluid space where productivity emerges beyond the confines of a desk.

Conventional Plan + Section
Speculative Plan + Section
This series of orthographic drawings reveal the relationship between home and self, mediated by daylight It reflects how I gravitate toward brighter spaces as the day unfolds The gradual fading of the plan and section follows the sun ’ s movement from dawn to dusk, translating light into atmosphere and evoking the airy quality I cherish in my home.
