DROP IN: COROWA SKATE EVENT AND MURAL LAUNCH Join the Federation Primary Prevention Team (FPPT) and Federation Council as we officially unveil the vibrant new murals transforming the Corowa Skate Park! Local artists Lee Wight collaborated with Corowa High School students and local skaters to bring youth culture to life on our shelter sheds and toilet blocks, Bring your boards, scooters, BMX bikes, and mates for a high-energy community jam afternoon! PLANNING AND BUILDING WALK-IN HOURS To streamline community access to development and construction experts, Federation Council has introduced a new Planning and Building Walk-in roster. Effective now, community members looking to speak directly with a planning or building officer face-to-face can do so during newly designated walk-in hours. The new walk-in roster hours are as follows: Corowa Monday - 1:30pm - 4:30pm • • Wednesday - By appointment only • Thursday - Midday - 3:00pm • Friday 1:30pm - 4:30pm Mulwala Tuesday - 12:30pm - 3:00pm • • Wednesday - 9:00am - 2:30pm Howlong Wednesday - 8:30am - 12:30pm • Outside of the walk-in hours, booking an appointment remains quick and easy. Residents can secure a time by visiting Council’s website, calling the Customer Service team on (02) 6033 8999 or emailing council@federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au

ON EXHIBITION Draft Volunteer Management Policy At Council’s July ordinary meeting it endorsed the Draft Volunteer Management Policy for public exhibition for a period of 28 days. This policy is to promote an effective, safe and mutually beneficial working relationship between Federation Council and its volunteers. The draft policy is currently available for the community to view and Council is seeking feedback until 5:00pm, Monday 14 September, 2026. Amended 2026-2027 Urana Caravan Park Fees & Charges At Council’s August ordinary meeting it endorsed the amended 2026-2027 Urana Caravan Park Fees & Charges for public exhibition for a period of 28 days. This proposal is currently available for the community to view and Council is seeking feedback until 5:00pm, Tuesday 22 September, 2026. 2027 AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS NOMINATIONS Federation Council’s 2027 Australia Day Award Nominations are now open. Pay tribute to someone who makes you proud to be Australian. It may be a friend, family member, your sporting group, work mate or someone you have met while serving the community. It’s the perfect way to say thank you! Award Categories: • Citizen of the Year • Young Citizen of the Year • Local Hero Award - Individual • Local Hero Award - Community Group • Local Hero Award - Sports Detailed guidance to help complete an online nomination form is available from the Council website. Award recipients will be announced at the official Australia Day Award Ceremony on Tuesday 26 January, 2027 in Urana. Nominations close Monday 9 November, 2026.

COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM The 2026/2027 Community Grants Program is officially open for applications! We’re looking for projects and events that boost the vibrancy and connectivity of the Federation Council community. Whether it’s a new event, a facility upgrade, or a community project, we want to help you bring it to life. The Essentials: • Funding: Up to $5,000 per applicant. • Who: Not-for-profit groups, organisations, and clubs. • Applications close: Friday 23 October, 2026. How to Apply: • Read the Guidelines carefully to ensure your project is eligible. • Submit your application via the online form on our website. Let’s work together to make our community thrive! GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP Need funding to get a community project off the ground or grow your local business? Federation Council is holding a practical Grant Writing Workshop on Friday 18 September, 2026 from 10:00am - 11:00am at the Corowa TAFE. Hosted by Council’s Alex Campbell (Grants Officer), the session features guest speakers from successful local recipient groups, including the Corowa She Shed and Corowa Community Gardens, sharing real world advice on governance, strategic planning and using Council’s Grant Guru search engine or .idcommunity profile software via Council’s website. The workshop is free to attend. Due to room capacity, attendance is capped at 30 people (a waitlist/ second session may be established if exceeded). RSVPs are essential. SEPTEMBER COUNCIL MEETING A Council Meeting is scheduled on Tuesday 15 September, 2026 9:30am at the Corowa Council Office. Residents and ratepayers are cordially invited to attend Council Meetings or watch the meeting via live stream, which allows observing Council business via computer or mobile device. The live stream is available to access from Council’s website, along with previous minutes and agenda for the meeting.

The winners of our Federation Council Libraries Children’s Book Week colouring competition are in! Federation Council has partnered with Halve Waste to bring resident waste expert Penny to the Corowa Civic Centre for a free drop-in advice session. • When: Tuesday 29 September, 2026 | 9:00am - 2:00pm • Where: Corowa Civic Centre • Drop in anytime - no appointment required! If you have a tricky item you are unsure about, bring it along with you (where practical) so Penny can investigate and provide the best advice.

COROWA AQUATIC CENTRE UPDATE Pool Disco Mark your calendars for Friday 18 September, 2026 for the Corowa Aquatic Centre Pool Disco!
