Senior Museums Coordinator Angela Isnor shares the trials and transformations of the Bond Store since the devasting 2022 floods.

Fraser Coast Regional Council acknowledges to the east, the Butchulla (Badtjala) and to the west, the Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) People, their connection to Country (land, sea and sky) and recognise the many places of cultural, spiritual, social and economic significance in the community. We pay respects to their Elders – past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge other First Nation Aboriginals and the Torres Strait Islander people, who reside in the Fraser Coast region.

FRIENDS CREATE PERFECT HARMONY

PERFORMER PROFILE: TIMBRE

Harmony in a beautiful song can be crucial to creating the perfect sound. It’s where melody is balanced, pure and aligned. This too can be said about friendship circles – a perfect balance of personalities creates a harmonious group of friends.

It is for this very reason Maryborough vocal quintet “Timbre” are one of the Fraser Coast’s most harmonious performers in sound and solidarity. Consisting of five members with vocal ranges including alto, tenor, soprano and base, Timbre captivates their audience with their harmonious sounds and soulful delivery.

Gathering for “wine down” drinks after singing in the local choir, the ensemble formed naturally with a shared love of musical theatre and performance. Their bonds were strengthened around a piano and when post-Covid shutdowns left them

with limited opportunities to embrace their passion, it was during these cherished gatherings they found their talents blossomed into a perfect union of voices.

Timbre (pronounced tamba) is the character or quality of a musical sound or voice as distinct from it’s pitch and intensity. It is the assemblage of the group’s voices honed from a lifetime of performing in choirs and musical theatre that creates their specific quality of sound. Matthew Richers and Gavin Bolderrow are the tenors of the group, Zoey Friend the soprano, Linda Davis brings her alto tones, whilst the deep bass is Nick Harry’s forte, their combined love of theatrical storytelling creates a rousing and meaningful performance to be enjoyed.
