The daily choices you make can help you live a better, healthier life. Review this book to see what is available so you can be as healthy as possible and be able to do more of what you love.

BCBSTX Resources

Most of the wellness benefits in this book are free of charge if you are enrolled in a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) medical plan. Get the BCBSTX app or save the BCBSTX contacts on your phone and computer so you can start using these benefits today.

Blue Access for Members

Blue Access for Members (BAM) is your secure BCBSTX member website to:

z Check claim status or history

z Confirm which family members are covered under your plan

z View and print Explanation of Benefits claims statements

z Locate in-network providers

z Request a new or replacement member ID card or print a temporary member ID card

z Go digital and get access to claims, benefits, and more

To get started, log on to www.bcbstx.com . Use the information on your BCBSTX ID card to complete the registration process.

BCBSTX Mobile App

You can go to your mobile device’s app store and download the BCBSTX app. This app can help you stay organized and in control of your health – anytime, anywhere. Log in to:

z Track your account balances and deductibles

z View, fax, or email ID card information

z Find doctors or pharmacies

z Refill your BCBSTX home delivery prescriptions and view order history

z View medication costs based on your plan and search for lower, cost-saving alternatives

Nurseline

When you need answers to health questions, the registered nurses at BCBSTX’s 24/7 Nurseline are ready to help you. Nurseline representatives can address health care concerns and help you make an appointment with your doctor, if needed. Speaking to a nurse can give you the peace of mind you need, guidance on medical care or concerns, and help you with questions to ask your doctor.

Well onTarget

Want to get healthy and stay healthy? If you signed up for a medical plan, you can use the BCBSTX wellness program – Well onTarget . When you are healthy, you spend less on doctors and hospitals, you feel better, and you tend to live longer. The wellness program can help you set and reach your health goals.

Wellness Portal

The Wellness Portal connects you with the entire wellness program – including a digital library with articles, podcasts, and videos on health topics, and over 30 challenges for conquering stress, sleep, physical activity, and more.

1. Go to www.bcbstx.com to sign up or log in.

2. Click the Wellness tab.

3. After you sign up, go directly to www.wellontarget.com

Blue Points Rewards Program

Sometimes it is hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and you may need a little help. The Blue Points rewards program helps you stay on track in reaching your wellness goals.

Go to www.wellontarget.com to find interactive tools and resources to help you rack up points and see all the things – electronics, sporting goods, clothes, and charity donations – you can buy as a reward for healthy habits.

Download the AlwaysOn app to access the BCBSTX Wellness Portal on your phone.

Health Assessment

Take the Health Assessment and earn 2,500 points. You will answer questions about diet, physical activity, tobacco use, and emotional health. You can complete it all at once or over time. Log in at www.wellontarget.com and click Start in the Health Assessment box. Based on your answers, you will get a personalized health report and plan.

Wellness Coaching

You can get one-on-one coaching from health experts –including dietitians, nurses, and personal trainers – to help you set and achieve your goals. Message or call a coach from www.wellontarget.com or the AlwaysOn app Coaches can:

z Help you quit tobacco or stay tobacco free.

z Help you improve your physical fitness, nutrition, blood pressure, or cholesterol.

z Design a health and wellness plan that’s right for you.

Digital Self-Management Programs

Get easy-to-learn tips and resources. Choose between educational content and six-week interactive programs that focus on health conditions and how to improve them.

Earn 1,000 Blue Points every three months to complete a program. Visit www.wellontarget.com or use the AlwaysOn app to get started.

Get integrated trackers to help you monitor your health and well-being. You can sync them to popular healthtracking apps and wearable devices. Trackers include:

Well onTarget Fitness Program

The BCBSTX Well onTarget Fitness Program offers a discounted gym membership for you and your family (ages 16 and older) from a nationwide network of fitness locations.

z Month-to-month memberships – no long-term contracts.

z 2,500 Blue Points for joining.

z Discounts on massage therapists, personal trainers, nutrition counselors, and more.

z Digital Home Fitness – access thousands of digital fitness videos and live classes such as cardio, boot camp, barre, and more.

z Studio Class Network – boutique-style classes and specialty gyms with pay-as-you-go options and 30% off every 10th class.

How to Sign up

1. Go to www.bcbstx.com and log in to Blue Access for Members

2. Select the My Health tab, then Wellness on the top navigation bar of the Dashboard page. Then scroll down to the Fitness Program section and click on Learn More.

3. Once you complete your registration, print or download your membership ID card. You may also request to receive the ID card in the mail.

Well onTarget from BCBSTX offers digital resources and support to help you manage or reduce stress. Find subjects that interest you and review them at your own pace.

How to Get Started

z Log on at www.wellontarget.com, then select Courses from the drop-down menu in the upper left corner.

z You can also log in to BAM at www.bcbstx.com and go to the My Health tab to find the Well onTarget Member Wellness Portal and other health and wellness benefits.

Maternity and Family Benefits

If you are pregnant or are planning to get pregnant, your health plan offers tools from Maven Clinic and Well onTarget to help you prepare for parenthood. Call 888-421-7781 for more information.

Maven Clinic

Maven Clinic’s maternity program is a virtual, 24/7 care platform providing personalized support from pregnancy through postpartum and returning to work. It connects members with a dedicated team, including OB-GYNs, midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants, to improve health outcomes, reduce NICU stays, and support high-risk pregnancies. Program options include:

Well onTarget offers self-guided courses about pregnancy that you can take online. Topics include healthy foods, body changes, and labor.

Preventive Care

Take advantage of preventive care to help manage your health. Preventive care services are covered at 100% when you seek care from a BCBSTX in-network provider. To find a network provider, call 800-521-2227 or visit www.bcbstx.com .

Perinatal Wellness

Routine recommendations for a healthy pregnancy:

z Pre-pregnancy check-up – Visit your health care provider before becoming pregnant.

z First prenatal visit – Review your personal and family history with your provider and discuss any concerns; your provider may examine you and perform some tests.

z Ongoing prenatal visits – See your provider throughout your pregnancy. A normal schedule is every four weeks for the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, then every two weeks until 36 weeks of pregnancy, then weekly until the baby is born.

z After birth visit – Schedule a visit with your obstetrician or provider within the first three weeks of giving birth. Have a comprehensive visit within 12 weeks of birth.

z Age appropriate immunizations, such as:

If you have a health factor that makes it unreasonably difficult or medically inadvisable for you to achieve the requirements of this program to qualify for the incentive(s), please contact Human Resources and we will work with you and/or your physician to develop an alternative. The purpose of this program is to promote health and prevent disease by alerting employees to potential health risks. This program is confidential and HIPAA-compliant. Protected Health Information will only be collected in aggregate form to design programs for the purpose of addressing overall risk(s). Any information shared will not be disclosed except in accordance with HIPAA laws.
