Call it what it looks like: a rigged process masquerading as public policy. If the DEA truly wanted an honest evaluation of cannabis, it would put patients, physicians, scientists, researchers, veterans, and public health experts at the center of the conversation. Instead, the process has elevated voices with long records of defending prohibition while limiting the participation of many of the people who have spent decades studying, prescribing, cultivating, or depending on cannabis. That doesn't inspire confidence, it fuels distrust. When the people with the evidence are pushed to the sidelines and the people defending yesterday's policies are given the microphone, don't expect the public to believe the outcome was reached in good faith. We know it won’t be becasue pedofiles don’t tell on themselves.

Cannabis has survived decades of propaganda, political interference, and policies that have caused unnecessary harm. The science, stories, nor the demand for reform didn't disappear, so if this process ignores those realities while claiming to represent an objective review, it deserves relentless public shaming. Government agencies don't earn credibility by asking people to trust them, they earn it through transparency, accountability, and a willingness to follow the evidence wherever it leads. Anything less is another reason people believe the system is protecting itself instead of serving the public.

Once again this Oligarchy of child rapists continues to lie, cheat, steal, and destroy any semblance of fair and partiality while stuffing their pockets with our money. They all need to be dragged into the streets.

Mary Jane Berlin is 10 years old now and it felt less like a trade show and more like a global signal for where cannabis is headed. Held at Messe Berlin just one week ago, the event brought together all sides of the plant under one massive roof Brands, patients, researchers, advocates, creators, distributors, legacyminded operators, and everyday people all moving through the same ecosystem, reminding everyone that cannabis is not one lane.

Germany’s evolving cannabis landscape has made Berlin one of the most important cannabis cities in the world right now, and Mary Jane captured that energy in real time. You could feel the seriousness of the international market taking shape, but you could also feel the joy, normalization, and human connection that make this plant matter beyond spreadsheets and policy language That balance is what the best cannabis events understand. The industry needs science and capital, yes, but it also needs people, story, access, education, and culture Mary Jane Berlin showed what happens when all of those pieces are allowed to breathe in the same room.

The first lesson Rayven-Nikkita (RN) Collins received from cannabis came in her grandmother’s backyard in Queens. Taking her aside, her father asked if she recognized the smell in the air and explained why he refused to call it “marijuana” a term popularized in the early twentieth century to stigmatize the plant and the marginalized communities associated with it As she grew older, RN learned that her great aunt even referred to her garden as her “medicine cabinet.”

Those early moments sparked a curiosity about nature and healing that later grew into a passion for the biology and medical potential of plantbased therapeutics.

RN is a neuroscientist and a law student at Northeastern University School of Law She holds a Master of Science in Anatomy & Neurobiology, which provided the foundation to understand how plants affect us She first studied entheogens in college and later worked with the Yale Program for Psychedelic Science, contributing to clinical research on psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) and helping develop a PAT medical education curriculum

RN lives on Oahu, HI and writes about how psychoactive plant compounds interact with the brain and body while also communicating the evolving legal, regulatory, and policy landscape surrounding these plants. She covers the science, medicine, and policy/regulatory space of cannabis and psychedelics as well as the series Ask a Neuroscientist!
