Design ing my garme nts on Adobe
Intro
The first step I take when designing garments is to draw a simple sketch to quickly put my idea onto paper. These sketches are always very rough as I will perfect them late on Adobe illustrator where I am able to make more of a realistic CAD. I started by sketching out a logo which I could use on most the products. As our name is CMFIA I thought a great abbreviation could be ‘CM’ I was looking to make a graffiti inspired kind of logo which can then be cleaned up in Photoshop
When designing I like to split each pattern up as if they where physical patterns to ensure my garments are realistic and I know how they are going to be made.
All the garments have a huge amount of detail, such as the distressed long-sleeve knit which shows the distressing on the CAD. Details like this give the factory a feel of what we want.

On most of the designs there is hardware such as zips, zip heads, buttons and metal logos. I use gradients to make the metal effect which bring the cads to life.

- WGSN
During Covid 19 the fashion industries supply chain came to a holt. This lead to the fashion industry taking a good look at itself regarding regarding the environment and waste in the industry. As consumers became more aware of sustainability and the demand for comfort wear went up Pangaia became very popular quickly researching 500K followers within a year
