Amberley House was constructed in 1876 as a private residence.

This idyllic rural estate, located just 40 minutes north of Christchurch, was recognised for its ornamental grounds and magnificent view of land and sea.

In 1920, the property was established as the private Amberley House Girls’ Collegiate School. At the time, it consisted of 144 acres of farmland. It was converted into the school by adding two stories to the original house, as well as other facilities. The rest of the land was farmed to produce vegetables and food for the students and their ponies.

Following the closure of the school in 1942, the property became a thoroughbred racehorse stud farm. A well-known horse, ‘Sailing Home’ was bred on the property and went on to win the Auckland Cup and the Trentham Stakes.

Since then, Amberley House has continued a rich history of ownership and has returned to a sport horse breeding operation. This has been boosted with the introduction of a Hanoverian stallion, ‘Remi Lion King’ and complemented by holding garden tours through the magnificent grounds and operating as a popular wedding venue.

Pricing Guide

There are two price options listed in Clobber. SH denotes the shareholder price and NSH denotes the non-shareholder price.

All prices are net to shareholders and include rebates and GST.

Prices apply until 28th February 2019. Prices and availability are subject to the manufacturers’ costs and supply and may change without notification.

Garment Colour Guide

While every care has been taken in the presentation of the garments in Clobber, colours where shown are indicative only.

Actual garment colour may differ from what is printed.

How to Measure Your Size

Neck: Measure around the base of your neck. Or, simply find a collared shirt that fits you well. Lay the collar flat and measure from the middle of the collar button around to the far end of the button hole.

Chest: Keeping your arms relaxed at your sides, measure under your arms at your armpits, including around the fullest part of your bust/chest and shoulder blades.

Sleeve: With arm relaxed at side and slightly bent, measure from the centre back, across shoulder to elbow and down to the wrist.

Waist: Measure at your natural waistline, where your belt normally rests, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Hips: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your seat.

Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit you well and measure along the seam from the crotch to the bottom of the leg.

Hand (for gloves): To measure knuckle circumference, keep your hand flat and measure around your large knuckles. Do not include your thumb. To measure hand length, measure from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger.

Head (for hats and helmets): Measure around the largest part of your head, just above the brow.
