BRAND STREET - THE PREFACE
For this exclusive read, we sat down for a virtual conversation with the FounderCEO of Brand Street — Surendra Singh. Here, he is solely responsible for the organic growth of the company for P & L and regional reach, and also monitors the annual growth of the venture. Mentoring over 40+ team members with his industry know-how, his sense of duty hasn’t been limited to the revenue generation of the business, but to also ensure holistic safety to his adored employees amid any unprecedented scenario. No doubt, that under his stewardship, his company became a recipient of WOW Asia Awards as Best Innovation during pandemic by Brand Equity. Thus, let’s dive into his stupendous business journey that our global readers will find enticingly amusing.
As a pioneer in the experiential marketing domain, Brand Street has become a prominent and preferred choice of a few leading portfolio brands today. Since its inception in 2015, it owns a repute of a digitally equipped company that can easily ensure clutter-free ideas to its clients. At present, it is catering exceptional solutions to three large service verticals: consumer marketing, trade marketing, and last-mile distribution, assisting brands in launching, awareness, visibility and market penetration. The company is driven by a set of corporate professionals who keep passion & growth as their core inspiration to stand out. Every individual associated with the company channelizes himself to bring out the best of his competencies to get an edge across the market. Addressing the adamant determination of the team members, the Founder says, “We are among the 5 AM club members who start their day and thinking a bit early in the morning to channelize themselves ahead against all the competitors.” Moreover, he adds that most of the organisations when taste surging success, tend to forget and ignore the key persons who have dedicated their time and energies for it. But, Brand Street is always considerate to its core members and strains every nerve to acknowledge their committed efforts in line with its growth and brighter prospects. No doubt, the company’s focus on its vision as well as mission — ONE GOAL | ONE TEAM | ONE P&L — is what has marked its presence across the industry.

The company’s clientele majorly hails from industries like FMCG, LUBE and Cement/Steel. Across all these verticals, Brand Street is leading with its unique solutions and bagging annual contracts from some eminent names including giants like JSW India, Shell India, PepsiCo, Nippon Paint, Berger Paints, Fena India, DCB, Mosaic India, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Jyothy Laboratories, Bisleri, Tata Sky, Lenovo, and Tata Consumer Product. When asked how do they uphold customer satisfaction, the luminary replies that customer-centricity is in their ‘DNA’. They strive for unequalled customer experience and leave no stone unturned to make a difference to their business expansion. Apparently, Brand Street’s 100% client retention rate is the sheer result of this ideology which is commendable as well as electrifying. SERVICE PORTFOLIO The firm’s service offerings are rich in consumer experiential marketing, trade marketing, event & exhibition marketing and hinterland marketing. Side by side, the team also renders services pertaining to research, planning, and designing. Every design is designed devotedly after performing thorough research, affirms the CEO. Moreover, they excel in ensuring the clients with audit reviews and reports during each phase of an ongoing campaign, and the company takes immense pride to prove its knacks here. Its service packages are cost-effective as well, adding a substance to its leading edge in the space.

HOW DO THEY OUTSMART THEIR PEERS? Brand Street’s functional domain comprises basically two kinds of people. The first one who are the thinkers(Brain) and the second one executes the new developments (Legs). But, the company is focused on being the thinkers in favour of the current backdrop where brands are seeking experiential marketing offerings backed with robust thinking power. Addressing their differentiating factor, Surender elucidates, “Planning is our strength, followed by strong execution timelines and audit ecosystem. An audited ecosystem is mostly missed by new-age firms, which we have excelled at. Working with India’s top 25 blue-chip firms is an example of this.”
Rweard & Recognition
Mayur & West Regional Lead | Pravin
Moroever, when it comes to its innovative streak, Surender claims that the team is well-aware of the customer pulse that allows them to innovate persistently. For this, they first get to know the client’s insights on the kind of solutions they seek and then perform target mapping while enlisting every aspect and hence, delivering relevant and effective solutions to the brands within 24 to 48 hours. Most of its robust clientele comprising national and international brands heavily thrives on the company’s innovative zeal only. This could justify the fact that it has acquired the tractions of about 30 per cent in its last fiscal revenues achievement, even amid the glooms and dooms of the pandemic. be? After all, to reach out to consumers amid unfavourable times, they came up with a one-of-a-kind “Store on Wheels” concept. This distinct step was the direct-to-consumer model that provided doorstep delivery of essential and non-essential products to the commonalities. As might be expected, the campaign ad was a nationwide success.
COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP A famous quote by Helen Keller says, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”. The company’s leadership style also resonates with the same notion. Brand Street is steered and guided by its consortium members— Ishani Ghosh, Mayur Gurukkal, Yogesh Pahuja, Jiten Jeena, Yatendra Joshi, Prasad M, Praveen Dhopla, Rajinikanth M, Sandeep Kumar and Atul Kumar. Altogether, they have established a firm and spectacular leadership at the company, where they are driving the operations across their respective segments and scaling the business to greater heights. Owing to their utmost adherence to the business values and unwavering vision, Brand Street has been witnessing growth in leaps and bounds since its inception. Every leader has been able to align his/her teammate with the company objectives, laying an apposite groundwork for better growth trajectories.
Then, during the second phase of the campaign, they effectively stretched this unique notion by collaborating with well-acclaimed brands like Borges International Group and India’s largest coffee maker Continental Coffee, to allow the end customers to relish the luxury of choice. Revealing his secret to staying in perfect sync with the life and leadership position himself, the tycoon states that he is a businessman during weekdays and a sportsman on the weekends. Sport boosts his mental capability and improves his performance at the professional front that eventually; strengthens his stewardship competencies. “Sports drive my mind towards winning in every tough situation which is a learning in itself,” asserts him.
The founder also highlighted the impact of the leaders’ collaborative teamwork amid the Covid-19 induced chaos. Though the business world witnessed several setbacks during the unprecedented times, owing to the excellent leadership at Brand Street, the company managed to be acknowledged as one of India’s fastest growing experiential marketing firms for the COVID TIMES STORIES. In this regard, he conveyed, “I extend my thanks to my business leads— Ishani Ghosh & Mayur Gurukkal for this, who have proven their skills during this time.” The company’s performance during the pandemic has been acknowledged well by industry-leading publications. And why shouldn’t it www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition September 2021 INDIA
A GLANCE OVER THE WORK CULTURE Many studies have shown that a positive culture influences the overall performance of a business — top to bottom. No doubt, the ambience of a workplace is directly reflected in the performance of it employee. A culture that nurtures curiosity, respect, teamwork and mental & physical health of its workforce alongside welcoming diversity and inclusion has been seen scaling the ladder of success effortlessly. Given that, Brand Street’s cultural principles are also similar 14
to these. Undoubtedly, it is a culture-focused organisation that thrives on a mantra- work hard and party harder. The management makes every ounce of effort to be empathetic to the employees and keep their spirits high. For this, they claim to be the only marketing company that takes its employees for around 4 outstation trips every year. “Additionally, we provide continuous training & development activities to our staff. This is key to our employee’s strong performance. We have provided training as per our employee’s routine and functions,” unveils Surender. Needless to say, the thumping success of the company is the result of its sensitive and caring culture. Success Story
Kalanithi Maran - The man who created one of the strongest media houses in India
Kalanithi Maran is an Indian media baron and founder & chairman of Sun Group who owns 32 television channels, 2 news dailies, weeklies, 45 Fm Radio Stations, DTH (Direct-to-home) Services, and a movie production house. From 2010 to 2015, he also held half of the stack in the airline’s company Spice-Jet. According to Forbes, he is India’s 57th richest person with $2.4B. Early life and education. Kalanithi, whose name means treasure trove in Sanskrit, was born on the 22nd of July 1964 in Chennai. He grew up in a powerful family wherein his father Murasoli Maran was the former Union Minister of commerce, his brother Dayanidhi Maran was India’s former textile minister. While his grand-uncle M. Karunanithi was the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu. He studied at Chennai’s Don Bosco School and Loyola College. After graduating high school, he joined Loyola College, and in no time was chosen as the student’s union chairman and also led an agitation on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Kalanithi attended the University of Scranton in the United States to study administration. In 1987, he returned from the US and decided to join his father’s magazine, Kungugumum. He tied and knot with Kaveri, who is the Joint Managing Director of Sun Network, from whom he has a daughter named Kaviya (born 1992)
CAREER
When he was pursuing a master’s degree (in the mid-80s). What he saw that the USA was offering had a wide array of channels. Which were spread across multiple genres. It inspired him to do something in the media field. But being so young, he wasn’t ready for that. After returning from the USA, he started a new venture Poomalai under his family wing - a monthly news videos capsules. After successfully running the same for around 2 years, he was forced to stop the business due to privacy. But this didn’t stop him from moving forward in life. Having a sufficient amount of experience in the media industry, he started cable television and Sun TV. In just a few years, the sun TV network became the giant cable network in south India. Life Cycle of Sun group Now as much as unsatisfied Kalanithi was by the uncontrolled privacy, he decided to keep him calm and make the most out of the “opportunity in-disguise” that had presented itself. In 1993, he took money as a loan from a bank $86,000 grunted by his father, chipped in all his started Sun TV. He also sold his small stake of his Granduncle M Karunanidhi’s family. Although, he later bought it. He started the business with 25 people, who were mostly his’ college friends. The next step was to get a transponder, for which he first approached Subhash Chandra, who had freshly entered the media industry by founding Zee TV. He tried to approach him, but he didn’t get a chance to meet Subhash, and his proposal too was rejected by a junior editor in the company. Anyways, he knew what he was doing and didn’t let himself down. After little effort, he managed to get transponders to space from ATN and launched his Chanel. But this wasn’t just the end. There was no television cable service in the state at that time, so he started the television service SCV (Sumangala Cable Version) in south India. Eventually, it went on to become the largest cable operator all across south India.
www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition September 2021 INDIA
18
THE TURNING POINT
At that time, even though private channels like ZEE had started growing up but, the industry largely was ruled by the state broadcaster. Hence, to stand in the market safely, Sun TV started off with 3 hours of Tamil programs on the ATN channel under the brand of Sun TV. Since the begging of time, he had understood that, for a Tamil TV channel, unlike otherwise -distribution is king, not content. Keeping that in mind, Kalanithi had gained and managed a stranglehold over cable distribution in Tamil Nadu. This was one of the things that became the key reason that led to a huge growth in Sun’s dominant market share in the times to come. In no time, the Sun TV network started receiving a positive response, which led to the streaming of 24 hours television channels in several different languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bengali. Which then further expanded the news, movies, music, and more. But the fortune he started making from the company was in 1998 when India liberalized the satellite broadcast industry. Quickly, the company managed to become one of the firsts to bag the license. From 1996 to 2002, his family had managed to be the ruling party in the state and had a strong influence and control over the national-level politics as well. Due to this, a lot of critics didn’t recognize his hard work. Many believed that the family’s power has brought success in his businesses.
THE CHALLENGES.
In 2003, Kalanithi’s father passed away. Subsequently, he got offered the DMK party ticket for the Chennai Central Lok constituency for the 2004 elections. But his heart was in his business and refused the offer. In 2006, Sun Group was listed on a stock exchange and raised around Rs. 600 Cr, for launching new TV and FM channels along with funding the construction of his new corporate office. Now was when a real issue started emerging. At the time of filing the IPO, a letter to the PM of India was sent by a Member of the BJP party asking questions about the conflict of interest with Mr. Dayanidhi Maran (minister of communication and information technology). During that time, it was assumed that his career was almost over. But he knew this wasn’t his time he waited for the right time.
COMEBACK
Kalanithi’s love for his business finally overpowered all the difficulties, and soon Sun Network started shining up. By the end of 2010, he paid Rs 780 Cr to buy a 38% stake of SpiceJet Airline from Airlines from an American private equity investor and the UK-based Kansagra family, which in the next few years, he increased the stake in SpiceJet by investing Rs. 800 Cr. After running the airline successfully for four years, he had to sell the stake because of a huge loss.
ACHIEVEMENT.
• The former President praised the $2.7 B deal with him as SpiceJet had boosted the employment rate in the USA,during his visit to India. • Received the “Young Businessman Award.” from CNBC, ERNST & Young. • Forbes named him as the “Television king of southern India” 19

SERVING THE COMMUNITY WITH CREATIVITY, BUSINESS, TRAINING & TECHNOLOGY Smita Kumar | Business Connect
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CREATIVITY, BUSINESS, TRAINING, AND TECHNOLOGY JOIN TOGETHER? In the year 2020, Mr Siju Rajan and Mr Jeevan Uthaman identified a connection between those 4 elements. That led to the formation of BRANDisam. In the light of vast experience in Business consultation by Siju and the Training experience of Jeevan, they found that even though entrepreneurs from Kerala are highly educated and efficient in running business. But they lack basic awareness and understanding about the brand building process. This is the main reason for not finding international brands from Kerala. Many are confused that Branding means creating a beautiful logo or a website and many others misunderstand that by doing Trademark registration alone, the brand-building process is completed. Then, BRANDisam began providing them with assistance and education. Later on, the company developed by itself in entrepreneurship development with a holistic approach. This step, at that point of time, brought fruitful results and during the period of professional service, BRANDisam has built their trust among its clients post serving them well.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
BRANDisam is a vibrant team of business strategists, organizational development and HR trainers, business graphic designers, business content developers and business legal advisors. It was in 2020 that the company set up many brand identities, framed unique brand strategies for all and also, empowered various entrepreneurs to build their brand.

THE PYRAMID CONCEPT
With the motive to clear the doubts and define the word ‘Brand’ better, the team of BRANDisam has come up with a concept called ‘BRANDisam Pyramid’, that showcases the path on which a trade name moves, to become a brand name. BRANDisam strictly follows this throughout the branding process. As per the company, the branding or brand-building process deals with 5 stages.
Stage 1 Foundation stage
Creating a unique identity for the rest of the business’s life is the first stage in the BRANDisam pyramid. Unique identity should be created by keenly observing the market and customers. ‘Make it once and keep it always’ is the central rule of the foundation stage. It includes the brand’s visual identity, verbal identity, brand positioning strategy and brand’s core culture.
Stage 2 Visible stage
The identity is meant to be registered in the mind of customers. To get registered, it must be shown to them in the appropriate channel, at the appropriate time and in the appropriate quantity. This should be done after observing the market, customer’s demography and competitor’s strategy. This is the stage of marketing.
Stage 3 Register stage
The result from the visible stage will get reflected in the register stage. People will identify a product when they see, feel and use it regularly. The distance from the visible stage and register stage 20
Siju Rajan
Director-Chief Branding strategist depends on how effectively we use the marketing tools.
Stage 4 Trust stage
It is the most crucial stage in the brandisam pyramid. People identify products when we regularly bring attention through different strategies. But to turn it into a brand, people should feel trust in it. It is a time-consuming process where we need to continuously touch the emotions of customers like love, care, greed and so on.
Stage 5 Leverage stage
Here in this stage, the name works 24*7 without anyone’s interference. It will leverage itself and become a brand. BRANDisam was formally incorporated in the year 2021 and started 3 divisions of its. The branding, training and research, and research divisions.

GROPLES SOLUTION Helping your business with digital transformation
Avishek Singh | Business Connect WIND OF CHANGE Yes, Covid 19 proved out to be a disaster for the world. Many companies were shut down. Millions lost their jobs. Startups could never revive. But there’s another side of the story as well. There were many businesses that thrived. Numerous new opportunities cropped up. Firms that were able to switch to a digital means of doing business dived through these situations to come out on the top. As e-commerce demand increased, several merchants were able to expand their online presence. Gyms were able to provide live fitness sessions to their subscribers via their own applications and social media. Ride-hailing and delivery platforms were able to spread their services to other industries and assist them in moving online. Within the first year of its formation, the Groples team had two of the major Indian corporate houses as clients. “ We have actively contributed to their diversity and social responsibility initiatives by helping them hire more candidates with challenging backgrounds.” shares Amit Khanzode, the chief Sales and Marketing Officer.

Most of the global technology companies are focused on solving challenges faced by large enterprises. We are building solutions that would enable medium and small size companies to use the right platforms and technologies to scale their IT operations in line with their business requirements Mr. Charudatta Pande- CEO- Groples Technology is not a choice in this new environment, but rather a core business strategy that must be integrated into every aspect of an organization. Today’s modern customer, whether internally or externally, demands the very same level of service in a work context as they do in their personal life. Groples’ enables businesses to quickly grow their operations by using digital platforms and technology. They are aiming toward a goal of making a thousand Indian businesses entirely digital by 2025. Mr. Pande steers, “ Post COVID 19, Digital is the new way of life for all businesses. Whether you are a manufacturer, trader, reseller, or service provider, your business needs to be digital.” Organizations that don’t really undergo digital transformation will fail Why are some firms performing better than others, and why are some firms doing better than before the crisis? Firms that have effectively executed digital transformation or those that have been able to swiftly adopt digitalization are doing better than others. “Companies who do not adopt Digital way of business will be left behind and eventually go out of business” believes, Amit Joshi CFO

Because of the Internet of Things, businesses now have access to bigger amounts of data than ever before. This data may be transformed into useful advanced analytics with the proper combination of analytical tools, allowing you to make better, faster decisions. “We strongly believe that the next decade belongs to India. We are going to experience unprecedented growth. The companies need to be internally prepared to capitalize on these opportunities. While we are preparing technology solutions for the medium and small enterprises, the owners and senior management of these organisations must start considering technology as their partner in growth.” quotes the CEO IMPROVE BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS Customer demand is growing, and rivalry within sectors is strong. How to survive the 14 days HOTEL QUATRAINS (both mentally & physically)
D
ear traveler, there are 14-15-days isolation required at your next destination. Today we will be sharing tips to survive the 14 days hotel quarantine. In the post-pandemic world, hotel quarantine has become compulsory in almost all countries – including India – and whist staying in a hotel for days on end may have previously sounded like a dream, it is actually a lot more challenging than it looks. Many popular destinations like UK, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, and many others have implemented a compulsory quarantine rule. Tourists have to quarantine in a hotel for anywhere between 14-21 days, at their expense. So, if you are one of the travelers who want to visit a specific country, here are some tips that will help you survive your stay in a hotel quarantine.
Book a room with a view While the thought of spending your quarantine period in a single room may not be pleasing for most of you, booking a room that has greenery or mountain views or some such nice view can help. Out of the list of quarantine hotels, select hotel and hotel’s room wisely where you can feel good about spending your quarantine. It would be great if the room comes up with a balcony, where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Wake up with purpose Some people will be in quarantine for 14 or other 21 days- it depends on country to country. So, plan how you will be spending each day in your room. Start your day with some physical exercise, followed by a pampering session in the shower – try to accomplish something, even the smallest task is countable. You may also make a to-do list before you hit the sack and start next days on purposeful not. Also, going to bed early and waking up on time save the tone for your day. Taking a good sleep 7 to 8 hours is better for all of us, especially when you quarantine yourself in a single room. This doesn’t just give you directions but also a certain degree of control over your day.
Do some exercise In this post-pandemic world, physical activity must be a part of your daily routine; it helps you to kill two birds with one stone – it keeps both the blues and flab away. Physical activities are known to release happy hormones – endorphins, serotonin, and norepinephrine. So, choose the physical activity you enjoy

and can add in your quarantine periods. Dancing, acro yoga, aerobics – choose from several options you can practice to stay fit and happy.
Soak in some vitamin D Catch early morning sunrises; you can also meditate or practice yoga while you get vitamin D. So when you are making a hotel booking, try to get an east-facing room. The coming sunlight through windows to your face will instantly cheer your mood and energize you to face the day. It is also good for your health. Stay connected. It has become very important, especially as the world combats covid-19, that we stay in touch with someone who cares about us. Use the hotel WIFI and make some time every day to talk with family, friends, and partners during hotel quarantine. Whether it be through chat, a phone call, and a video call. I recommend you make a phone or video call, in this, you can connect with their emotion.
Digital detox Fixing eyes on your phone or TV screen all day is harmful to our brain and eyes. So, keep your eyes away from your phone screen to give some rest to your mind and of curses your eyes. Lesser screen time shearing offers benefits which include improved sleeping quality and attention span. Many research also shows that people who abstain from using social media are less likely to have anxiety and depression. Instead of scrolling – screen smartphone, solve a puzzle or read the book, keep in mind that books must be paperbacks.
Eat healthy food As you are in hotel quarantine, try to choose healthy food options when it comes to your meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinners – once in a while is fine. Self-isolation has made us seek comfort in junk food, but it will be wise to not let this time ruin our healthy eating habits. Junk food and processed food in your diet have many disadvantages, including obesity and leathery, make sure your meal (from morning to night) satiates your hunger and nourishes you during your quarantine time. If you are bored with hotel food, you can also look for online delivery services, which will offer you some healthy and tasty options.
Cultivate a skill With quite some time in your hands, why not develop a new skill during your quatrain period? There are tons of options available on the internet at affordable prices, from dancing classes to cooking courses. You can start something doing something, which was on hold for a long time because you weren’t able to find the time. As you finish your quarantine period, do not forget to follow a basic rule, wear the mask, sanitize your hands or wash them- when you touch something, and maintain distance as much as possible. 33

DR. DHANASHREE TEKADE THATTEY An Ethereal Doctor & Entrepreneur Indranil Roy | Business Connect
Dr. Dhanashree Tekade-Thattey
Becoming a doctor and then re-shaping it into entrepreneurship – The endeavour is immeasurable. Becoming a healthcare practitioner takes courage and an indomitable will. It’s not just about studying and earning a degree. The person should be cognizant of the importance of life and have a positive outlook on it. And, certificates or milestones can’t be the centre stage of judgement. Instead, it should be the consistency to cure the illness and provide the best patient care. Now, entrepreneurship brings several other factors into play. In conjunction with the aforesaid, the individual should be capable of leading, instilling inspirational principles, strategizing growth, and managing internal affairs. India is home to remarkable healthcare entrepreneurs known for their serene nature and ability to provide the best patient care. A notable addition in the pantheon is Dr. Dhanashree Tekade Thattey. She is a critically acclaimed implantologist with over a decade of experience in the field. Through her recently established entrepreneurial foundation Tekade’s Shree DentoImplant Laser Centre, she is consistently bringing smiles to faces with unmatched patient care. This is her story of rising as an altruistic member in the healthcare sphere.
COMMENCING HER JOURNEY
The enthusiasm and inspiration to become an entrepreneur were genetically imbibed in Dr. Dhanashree. Her Grandfather Mr. Gopal Tekade was a freedom fighter and entrepreneur. Afterwards, he joined the Indian Post Office as a Post Man, and then with hard work and dedication, rose through the ranks to become a Post Master. After retiring, he found and successfully ran a recurring deposit agency for the Indian post. This is where the seeds of entrepreneurship were sown. Her father followed in her grandfather’s footsteps, which later transferred to her. Shrikant Gopal Tekade
The Good Doctor found passion in Healthcare practice, particularly dental care. The fundamental needs of a livelihood aren’t limited to food and shelter. It also includes a healthy lifestyle. And dental care is an integral part of it. Strong and healthy teeth help in chewing food, stay active, speak clearly and confidently. Above all, it takes care of your smile and prevents plaque from growing. Dr. Dhanashree believes that healthy teeth are the fundamental right of everyone. She took it as her mission to avail quality dental solutions to every Indian.
In 2008, she completed her medical degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. The following year, she incepted Shree Dental Clinic in Mumbai to start practising as a general dentist. For a long time, she upholds her mission. But then, she saw how technology was reshaping dental hygiene. Therefore, to provide advanced dental care to all age groups and cultivate a philanthropic patient care community, Dr. Dhanashree, with her Father, Mr. Shrikant Gopal Tekade, found Tekade’s Shree Dento-Implant Laser Centre. It was the family values, especially of her grandfather, which inspired her to establish and grow. In her words, “He was always helpful to others and taught his family members to remain happy in every situation and satisfied with every outcome.” Through her new clinic, Dr. Dhanashree is constantly bringing smiles to faces and moreover offering comprehensive consultancy too. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition September 2021 INDIA

surgical follow-ups. In other words, she is more than an Implantologist; she is a friend to those in need.
MANEOUVERING THROUGH PANDEMIC
AN OVERVIEW OF THE ADVANCED CLINIC
Tekade’s Shree Dento-Implant Laser Centre is the finest illustration of Dr. Dhanashree’s passion and expertise. The clinic offers the finest dental services to all age groups. It offers Laser surgeries, Implantology, Cosmetic teeth alignments, Oral scans, Digital dental services, etc. Dr. Dhanashree has grown with the technology uprising; hence, her clinic is acclimated to emerging innovations. Moreover, she provides complimentary dental consultation to Cancer patients post-chemotherapy. And free dental checks to L&T workers, school teachers & their families. Her motive has always been more on providing quality healthcare than generating revenue. She understands the hefty cost of advanced dental treatments, which is why her clinic offers monthly instalment benefits to patients in need.
IMBIBED WITH INSPIRING QUALITIES
More than skills and expertise, Dr. Dhanashree’s compassion makes her a preferred doctor and consultant in the vicinity. Despite being in a niche category, she prefers inspiring people for other conditions. She has helped many people with certain addictions. “Every one of them has a different story and challenge, but I always strive to guide them towards betterment,” says the Good Doctor. “And when their lives turnaround, I feel successful,” she adds. She and others at the clinic follow the notion, ‘HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY’. This fosters integrity. Every patient receives a personalized consultation along with post-operative
The infamous COVID-19 has been a novel transfiguration to all. But, for medical practitioners, it is the challenge of the century. For Dr. Dhanashree, she saw a lesser number of patients last year. With vaccinations happening on a large scale, people are coming to her for dental solutions. And the overwhelming numbers often creates a crowding scene at the clinic. As such, crowd management is something they meticulously follow. To make things easier, they’ve installed software that keeps track of patients’ appointments and sends reminders to their phones. To ensure hygiene, they use disposable patient drapes and sleeves and digital x-ray machines. Moreover, they autoclave surgical instruments regularly that are stored in ultra-violet storage cabinets for sterilization. On a personal level, the period was also challenging. But she didn’t collapse. She was doing household chores and treating patients via video consultations at the same time. And further, she joined Apollo Clinic, which enabled her to treat international patients. She is also the Head of the Department (Dental) at Aadhar Multispeciality Hospital, Thane.
GOING BEYOND AVERAGE
The pandemic has noticeably changed everyone’s lives. It pushed Dr. Dhanashree to think global. She acknowledges the enormous potential in Indian healthcare and wishes to explore it for the better. “I believe only clinical expertise is not enough for the society,” she affirms. She is pursuing a fellowship in medical cosmetology & aesthetic dentistry from German University and a Health Care management program from IIM-Kozhikode. Furthermore, she also started her YouTube Channel ‘Dr. Dhanashree Tekade Thattey’. She publishes content on dental treatments and surgical procedures in three languages (Marathi, Hindi, and English) for medical students and the general public.
BLESSED BY ALL
Being the epitome of altruism, Dr. Dhanashree has earned a revering position in healthcare. Her biggest achievement so far is the “Blessings of Patients”. And the support of her family can’t go unnoticed. Her maternal Grandfather, Mr. Sudhakar Narkhede, an officer in the Indian Airforce, imbibed the patriotic vision. She also asserts her husband Chinmay, her son Aahan and her brother Dr. Radheya as the pillars of her career. “I must say that there are MEN behind every successful WOMAN,” she asserts in a proud tone.
A VISION FOR THE COUNTRY
Being patriotic by heart, Dr. Dhanashree looks forward to starting careercounselling. She wants to help Indian youth establish their career within the country rather than going abroad. India is a melting pot of culture, heritage, knowledge and opportunities, and she urges people to explore and grow on them.
FOR HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS
“‘Health is Wealth’, even now, hygiene protocols like washing hands and sanitization shouldn’t be ignored. And protective measures (facemask, eyewear, etc.) should be used while treating patients. India still has a plethora of infectious diseases, and every professional can help treat them. I had tuberculosis as a youngster and then as an adult, and it was lifethreatening. It is, however, treatable, as is COVID-19 and other illnesses. “Lastly, greet patients properly. Pandemic has taught us ‘Namaste’ is the best way to do so”.
Her knack for societal happiness also lays down her other talents. She teaches various dance styles to children and women through Thattey Dance Academy. She teaches classical, Kathak, Bollywood, Folk, Aerobics and Zumba. It’s a non-profit foundation and has women of 70 years old attending sessions. 45

This is a skill that helps to solve real problems, which makes your business grow faster. By helping to build customer’s personal profiles, a business can combine data points to create insight, which targets the audience more effectively, meaning, services and products can be tailored to a specific group of people.
DIGITAL MARKETING No amount of technology can grow your business unless the product reaches the right customers on time. The future of a business relies on - how well the brand engages with its targeted audience online today, or rather, on its digital marketing strategy.
Nowadays, an entrepreneur needs to have knowledge of data science, it helps to conduct more precise performance appraisals of their employees. In fact, the identification of true candidates matched for the company also relies heavily on similar tech.
Digital marketing is not only more affordable than the traditional concept of advertising, but it also produces outcomes fast.
FINANCE: A VERY CRUCIAL AND CORE SKILL Apart from these skills whether you have a startup or a corporate giant, knowledge of finance has been always helpful for both your business as well as your life.
The moment you advertise your product on Facebook or Instagram, it reaches millions of users, whose response can be examined using free services like Google Analytics.
As an entrepreneur, you need to know how to raise capital and manage your own money. Imagine, if you don’t know how to manage your own money, how are you gonna manage somebody else’s one, that’s why a good understanding of fiancé and business accounting is so important. It doesn’t mean that degrees are devoid of value. The startups ecosystem has always asked for more than a degree on the resume. There are scenarios where a conventional MBA from a top-tier institution can bring opportunities for you faster. Degree establishes credibility when you introduce yourself to clients as a startup. But more than anything, it’s often the network you build in college, which eventually help shine your career rather than the degree. In the end, we would suggest you take a look at your business and identity which area you need to be an expert in or have a clear understanding of. And then work on it.

Current Affairs PayU And AWI Fund Leads A $12 Million Funding Round For indiagold The founders, who were both formerly employed by Paytm, are using their significant financial experience to modernize and digitize gold lending in India. The company is developing an innovative doorstep gold loan business based on a strong technology stack, artificial intelligencebased gold evaluation skills, and superior customer-centricity, with the purpose of providing speedier gold release and a clear repayment policy. “A significant component of PayU’s growth strategy is empowering disruptive fintech companies through early-stage financing. We want to realize our ambition of establishing a fintech ecosystem that will address the requirements of the financial services of millions of Indians by supporting startups that fit our existing portfolio,” said Vijay Agicha, global head of Strategy & Growth at PayU. PayU and Alpha Wave Incubation Fund initiated a $12 million funding round for indiagold, a gold-focused digital alternative credit platform.
Gold Locker, Indiagold’s first locker service, aims to revolutionize locker services by making them more secure, transparent, and convenient.
Better Tomorrow Ventures, 3one4 Capital, RainmatterCapital, and previous investor, Leo Capital, will lead the investment round, which will be headed by PayU, Prosus’ payments and fintech business, and the Alpha Wave Incubation (AWI) fund, which is funded by DisruptAD and managed by Falcon Edge Capital.
In India, the gold financing business is primarily conducted offline, with the informal sector accounting for over 70% of all gold loans. These loans provide liquidity to Indians who do not have access to unsecured credit, which is used by less than 10% of the working population. The Covid-19 pandemic has intensified demand for short-term, low-cost, secure, and conveniently accessible formal finance options such as digital gold loans.
indiagold, which was founded in 2020, provides over a million Indian consumers with gold-backed loans, gold savings, and gold locker services. The new cash will be used to grow nationally and develop the business even further.
“We are impressed by Indiagold’s concept and proprietary technology for alleviating important pain points in India’s gold lending business. Gold, which is found in practically every Indian family, is the key to providing affordable loans to all Indians. Indiagold’s innovative doorstep gold loan and gold locker solutions not only provide an exceptional customer experience but also allow it to provide credit at lower rates.” Navroz D Udwadia, the co-founder of Falcon Edge Capital, said, “The traction indiagold has gained in such a short time is a credit to its exceptional product capabilities and the rich knowledge of its pedigreed founders.”
“India has a $650 billion potential gold loan industry that is extremely diverse and currently dominated by the informal sector,” said indiagold co-founders Nitin Misra and Deepak Abbot. “Even the official sector hasn’t fully embraced digital techniques. By digitally converting lending against gold, indiagold’s array of financial solutions fills this essential requirement gap. We are honored to have the support of industry-leading growth investors, and we see it as a validation of our value proposition’s fundamental strength. We are moving quickly towards our wider objective of establishing gold holdings as an alternate credit score and constructing a gold back credit platform for lenders to issue instant credit against gold, with the cooperation of our existing and new investors,” they added.
www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition September 2021 INDIA
indiagold, in response to the Indian consumer’s great passion for gold, provides quick, safe, and convenient ways to monetize household gold to meet specific credit needs, and is quickly establishing itself as a reliable alternative to India’s unorganized gold loan sector.

Following Byju’s $1 Billion Acquisition, Aakash Evolves Into A Hybrid Edtech Enterprise “In the past, students would travel to places like Delhi, Kota, and Hyderabad.” AESL managing director Aakash Chaudhry remarked, “Our desire and aggression to penetrate down to Tier-3 and Tier-4 markets with physical centers has increased.” “We’re going to add over 100 centers, and more than half of them will be in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities. We’ll be bringing a lot of technology with us as well.” Chaudhry, a Harvard Business School graduate, believes that physical classroom teaching will continue to work as it has in the past. This is because students are returning to actual classrooms after spending more than a year studying online. “I believe this reaffirms our determination to continue to build both the physical and online parts of our business.”
Aakash Educational Services (AESL) is turning itself into a hybrid edtech enterprise and is aggressively expanding across the country after being acquired by Byju’s for $1 billion earlier this year. In the next five months, AESL will open 106 additional locations across the country. There will be a mix of extension and standalone centers in these locations. J C Chaudhry started AESL as a small private coaching institute in Ganesh Nagar, West Delhi, in 1988. Aakash has grown from 12 learners in 1988 to 215 centers with over 250,000 students. By the end of this year, the goal is to have around 5 lakh students. “Hybrid learning is an approach for the future, and test preparation is a significant part of India’s educational landscape. The future solution will be a mix of (physical) and (digital) classrooms,” according to Abhishek Maheshwari, AESL’s chief executive officer (CEO). “We had all of the fundamentals in place, and now it was just a matter of speeding up the process. It’s accelerating even more now that Byju has arrived.” Students studying for medical and engineering entrance examinations, school and board exams, KVPY, NTSE, Olympiads, and other foundation-level exams might benefit from AESL’s test preparation services. According to sources, the institute has an annual turnover of around ₹1,200 crores. With a staff of over 5000 individuals, AESL expects to hire over 2000 new employees this year. This is part of its offline or physical center expansion strategy, as well as a response to the increased traffic at its existing locations. It’s looking for people in a variety of fields, including academics, technology, sales, marketing, operations, and other support activities. “As an organization, we’re evolving in three ways: getting closer to our consumers, using technology and physical facilities, and attracting talent. Our expansion strategy is primarily based on that,” Maheshwari explained. AESL has designed interesting and customized learning programs for medical and engineering students, leveraging Byju’s tech capabilities.
The new facilities will allow the organization to expand the teacher-student relationship and expand into other markets. This would also assist the company in raising the bar for the test preparation industry. This includes implementing new technology to make learning more user-friendly for students in both a digital and physical setting. As the coronavirus pandemic has spurred the use of online education, AESL is seeing increased demand across the country. While schools and workplaces are closed, students and professionals are trying to improve their abilities. It is fighting for a piece of the country’s $180 billion education market, which has gone online to adapt to the new reality, with both new and old education institutes. Maheshwari, who joined AESL as CEO in November of last year, is in charge of the firm’s omnichannel products, which aim to help students achieve their goals while also driving profitable growth for the company. Prior to this, Maheshwari was the head of Byju’s International Business, where he was in charge of the company’s global expansion. For several years, he was the head of Disney in India, where he was in charge of the P&L, strategy creation, and execution across all of Disney’s brands, businesses, and functions. Maheshwari observes a high demand from students to attend physical classes at AESL. “There is a certain amount of (online) boredom. As a result, wherever classes are available, people want a decent mix of both. We followed all of the Covid protocols,” Maheshwari stated. “We are also allowing you to come to the classroom two days a week and study from home two days a week.”
By developing facilities in Tier 3 and 4 cities, AESL is expanding its reach and foraying into Bharat. This allows it to become closer to its consumers, allowing students to learn without having to go to larger cities.
