“THE BEST OF THE BEST IN THE WORST PERIOD EVER” I can’t think of a better appellation for the businesses that went above and above during the Pandemic. Even though a year has passed, one question comes to mind whenever I reflect on the period: What motivates leaders to clamber even when they hit rock bottom? My interpretation is that they never forget why they started. Whether SME or an established firm, every venture stands on a vision & mission that is as strong as its founder. Even when they fail or encounter unimaginable adversity, their ethos pushes them to endure and stay on course. Leaders who don’t give up are adaptive and visionaries. And by enduring trials, they create a leadership resume and the fortitude to overcome more trials. COVID-19 was a trial by fire, and it inflicted terrible losses on every industry, big or small. But, unfazed by the embers of this Armageddon, many leaders and their innovative ventures stood committed and focused. They moved forward with an iron will and achieved goals that seemed impossible due to the novel chaos. While I can cite many companies to validate these facts, I’d rather talk about the pioneering journey of Apex India Consultancy (AICL). The firm is a market leader in healthcare risk management In India. What makes them unique is their versatility in diverse settings and the benchmarked quality of each solution. AICL has grown with the tides of the industry, which fuels its leading position. During the pandemic, the Company found its way through digitization, which further helped it expand its vision. As an eminent business magazine, we have always applauded businesses and recognized leaders for their efforts. In this newest edition, “30 Most Innovative Companies to watch in 2021,” we are proud to give AICL the entrancing coverage. The rest of the magazine will tell the compelling stories of many inventive leaders and enterprises who valiantly faced atrocities like COVID-19. And we have a lot more in store. While I talk about leaders, it’ll be foolish of me to not acknowledge the endeavours of our readers. We have all overcome a novel distress and are living in a transformational period. And for that I praise you. With that being said, I bid farewell! Take Care!

T

he rapid evolution and transformation in healthcare have made patient care the utmost priority. While the pertinent resources for the same are available, uncertainties and risks in these areas must not be overlooked. Validating this, risk management is a rising prominence for every healthcare provider – be it individual or institution. Risk management has different value additions in every segment. In Healthcare, it covers a wide spectrum of concerns, including equipment functions, practices & procedures and other hazards. Managing all of them together ensures the safety and security of patients while reducing expenditure and costs. Risk management practices also assist healthcare companies in reducing the risk of losses. But as previously mentioned, one can’t be always prepared for all kinds of risks. Unexpected events will continue to occur, causing displeasure, major crises, and a loss of goodwill if not properly managed. This holistic awareness backed by the idea of coping with crisis by meticulously preparing effective strategies laid the foundation of Apex Insurance Consultants Ltd. (AICL). Established under the Indian Companies Act of 1956, the Company is a leader in risk management in the Sub-Continent. Its competence accounts for the effective and careful use of social sensitivity approaches to help any doctor or medical organization in the country deal with stressful circumstances.

Vijay Arora Joint Director

ADDRESSING THE NEED

AICL was drawn upon the idea to erase the communication gap between doctors and patients. Despite a doctor’s experience and skillsets in treatment and communication, the ball often drops on the goal line when it comes to crisis management. This is where AICL creates its niche. Growing with the tides, it has seen how communication difficulties, globalisation, and advancing technologies, increases people’s demands and make the healthcare field more complex. To change the scenario and make it favourable, AICL has pushed risk management, making solutions more accessible to help medical professionals dodge unwanted hurdles. The Company was among the prime to introduce organized risk management to the Sub-continent. Its excellence encircles everything from understanding the problem to developing an

aligned and adaptive plan and execution. It has the pertinent resources on board which helps it command every step in the process. This further positions AICL as a proactive firm - always ready for its clients in any event of crises, whether foreseen or unforeseeable. AICL has made reputed experts available to members of the fraternity, which traditionally belonged to affluent medical professionals. This is a prominent part of its commitment to solve healthcare concerns and make medical professionals risk-free. AICL, in simple words, has threaded a needle streamlining all the requirements with a robust network of legal & medico-legal experts of repute, offerings clients support, guidance, mentorship, and plans to ensure a risk-free professional business.

THE ONES BEHIND THE MASTER PLAN

AICL is a joint venture founded by Mr. Sanjay Kalika Mishra, Joint Director, and Mr. Vijay Arora, CEO, under the umbrella of Apex Group. Around the turn of 2000, the two came up with the idea of assisting professionals in crisis resolution when there was a massive budget cap. Sanjay has a number of educational degrees, whilst Vijay has a law degree as well as an MBA. They started Apex Group in 2000, and it grew into a powerhouse of multiple business solutions. AICL was formally registered a year later. Sanjay oversees the sales and strategic development while Vijay manages the complicated day-to-day operations. Their efforts have helped AICL institute a PAN-India presence and a track record of effective crisis management operations in the Medical sector. They have imbibed the company with guiding principles - team planning, assessing the scope of problems - developing a credible plan, test that plan, and keep actions and plans updated. In addition, the dynamic pair have built a team whose competence extends beyond qualifications - they mostly are made of people from less fortunate backgrounds who choose to make a difference in their lives. Risk Management is a very competitive career field that permeates all functions and departments of an organization. And as a company, AICL is offering prospective opportunities with much more to achieve.

SETTING STANDARDS IN RISK MANAGEMENT

‘Quality and Consistency’ at reasonable prices has been AICL’s cornerstone. Over the two decades, it has witnessed many lifethreatening problems and has successfully settled instances involving unqualified personnel, untimely mortality, or sudden death of patients at the OT table. Its unique solutions have helped clients deal with arduous concerns such as post-death media trials, anaphylaxis-related deaths, post-spinal meningitis, “Brought dead,” and more. Any fatality or serious harm resulting from a medical operation or treatment lands physicians in civil and criminal court. Their complexity even prompts courts to enlist the help of specialised personnel to carry out processes. Medical complexities require distinguished scholars edified in medicine and law. As a result, AICL’s medico-legal speciality was an instant success. Under this banner, it has onboarded bestin-class experts from all over India.

MORE THAN TRADITIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT

AICL’s foray into risk management was a risky move, but it did pay off handsomely with ever-increasing accomplishments. Its solutions attest to the company’s core beliefs and experience in protecting doctors’ and organizations’ market reputations, accreditation, reimbursement levels, brand equity, and community status. AICL positions itself as the best choice to promote patient safety, avoiding legal liability, and becoming more proactive in contingency planning while assessing risks from a much broader perspective. With its unique expertise, AICL has placed bespoke personnel in many medical associations across the country. The inherent expertise has also helped in entering and reinventing new business dimensions. It’s aware that simple insurance can’t assist in alleviating all kinds of crises. Even though insurance companies had a policy called Professional Indemnity Insurance, they were concerned that selling it on a large scale would result in unnecessary financial struggles. AICL took an ethical approach to grow, assuring its insurance partners of their feasibility. It marched bravely, dispelling illusions about loss and liability, and sold approximately 2 million policies, with less than 2% of cases reaching the courts. Most of the cases even got rejected due to their effective defence experts. This helped in growing both as a Risk Management organization as well as a viable and Profitable partner for its insurers.

DIRGHAAYU SETU – A WHOLESOME FLAGSHIP

With its mission to improve medical services and society as a whole, AICL recently introduced the DirghAayu Setu App. Built with cutting-edge innovation, this app gives clients access to top healthcare providers and allows them to keep track of their health and well-being. The app enables patients to manage personal and family’s medical records methodically. It has customized interfaces and is compatible with any smart device. Users can also communicate with their preferred practitioner via video consultation and exchange crucial documents via e-mail, SMS, or WhatsApp from the comfort of their own homes. Furthermore, the app provides the DirghAayu Setu Health Card that allows medical professionals to access a patient’s records in an emergency, perhaps to save their life.

Digitization is the way forward, and healthcare is moving towards a paperless tomorrow with digital records, quicker and efficient treatments. The app is a small step towards that brighter tomorrow. It assists users in taking a significant step towards environmental awareness by eliminating unnecessary paperwork. Moreover, it has proven to be a one-stop shop for risk management.

“

“When we think about our life and what we want to do with it, everything boils down to building a platform to positively impact communities we are engaged in and causes AICL stands for,” asserts Sanjay.

www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition October 2021 INDIA

Bringing digital practise and risk management under one roof, it has already served over 1 lac users, including many doctors’ associations, forums, and communities on a pan-India level.

Vijay also commemorates the product saying, “We are trying to create a commercially viable product within the regulatory landscape. Of course, at AICL, there is nothing more exhilarating than that process.” The platform is a great example of digitalization and one-of-akind solutions for efficient patient care.

CARE FOR THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CURTAIN

While AICL has achieved several business milestones, developing a strong team from the ground up is a one-of-a-kind feat. As previously mentioned, its team consists of people from ordinary backgrounds. However, AICL has nurtured them with education, engagement, and support Program, changing their lives and turning them into outstanding business builders. The Company stands proud of this team and its mission to provide tailored solutions to its clients. It has opened up new career and income opportunities in local and national economies by providing a viable path for the impoverished. The leaders and

14

teammates co-work to ensure scalable quality in risk management. The team is technically competent and flexible to provide personal assistance anywhere in India. They are known to offer clients peace of mind, adding value to businesses and ensuring their success.

DOMINATING GROWTH & STATURE

Ensuring expertise of the highest standard, AICL has held a position in the hearts and minds of professionals for the past 20 years. It houses over 50 global Medico-legal professionals and 2000 legal experts, making it competent to deal with every relevant concern. Its services are 24x7 available and at par with global standards. It has a wide network of doctors (60,000 and growing every day) as members. AICL is highly endorsed by Indian Medical Association (IMA). The Company has received several testimonies, appreciations, and awards for its resources and bespoke solutions, placing it among the global pioneers in risk management. From free consultations to efficient record keeping, counselling to free seminars, emergency response, and media support, AICL proudly serves as a comprehensive professional shield for medical practitioners. It provides

Coverage for all Acts (PNDT, MTP, Labour Laws, etc.) and complex cases about personal Medico-Legal CPA Criminal and Medical Councils.

The Company’s endeavours are testament to its pledge to safeguard doctors and the medical community. In the years to come by, it aims to expand its already established healthcare network - and aims to do so by widening its offerings portfolio. Also, it aims to further broaden its horizons and be the preferable name for insurance/ risk management solutions. Last but not least, it is emphasizing the digital platform to further strengthen relationships between patients and health providers.

A Sophisticated Name In Personalized Medicine & Healthcare Indranil Roy | Business Connect

SOBIN CHANG CEO

Should a youngster be treated the same as an adult in terms of medical care? Probably not. They will, however, most likely receive the same treatment if they become ill. And the rest of the world will follow suit. Despite advances in medical science, doctors don’t fully understand how patients respond to different therapies. The ‘One-size-fits-all’ approach is exclusively used, but it often results in undesirable side effects. Nonetheless, the use of precision/personalized medication can change this for the better. The growing study and research into human genetics and genomes, as well as how they influence health, disease, and drug reactions, has enabled doctors and scientists all around the world to provide more precise diagnosis, drug prescriptions, and effective therapies. Eventually, this keeps the patient off the ‘trial-and-error’ approach, ensuring an optimal therapy from the start.

Despite its efficacy, the complete democratization of personalized healthcare is yet to happen. Tailoring individualized health care to improve patient’s lives – it’s a mission. A mission, which can become widely possible because of advanced healthcare companies, like Aquavit Pharmaceuticals. Headquartered in New York, the Company offers personalized healthcare through innovative drug and biologics delivery systems.

ATTUNED TO INNOVATIVE CARE Found in 2010, Aquavit is constantly setting benchmarks in medical aesthetics through multiple pipelines, including Neuroscience, Oncology, Medical Dermatology and immunology (COVID-19). Its uniqueness stems from its patented microchannel technology, which permits intradermal delivery of any medicine or therapeutic agent administered topically or by patch. This novel route of administration makes them a pioneer in the domain. Aquavit is also one of the largest manufacturers of microchannel technology and among the top 3 medical aesthetics companies in the US. With a mission to modernize and personalize healthcare, the Company has made great strides, developing formulations, prototypes and much more. Recently, it acquired an exclusive license to market and commercialize Botulinum toxin (BOTOX) in the United States and Canada. This will enable it to work on conditions where the neurotoxic protein has been approved, such as Chronic Migraine, Blepharospasm, Cerebral Palsy, Spasticity, Overactive Bladder, Depression, Plantar Fasciitis, Osteoarthritis, etc. Aquavit also has a defined IP portfolio, including 30 + patents and over 25 trademarks. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition October 2021 INDIA

TETHERED TO CHANGING SCENARIOS Time is changing, and with that - diseases are mutating, attaching themselves with additional properties. For instance, COVID-19 basically inflicted respiratory tract infections - both mild and lethal at a fast rate. Its Delta variant, on the other hand, transmits faster - and more efficiently. The rapid spread of the virus across 96 nations demonstrates the level of chaos it can bring. And it is not just COVID-19! There are many concerns in medical aesthetics that have evolved; are best addressed through personalized medicine. The cognizance propels a paradigm awareness as it has proven to optimize healthcare at reduced time, cost and rate of failure in clinical trials. Aquavit supports this and has customized products assertive to individual channels. The portfolio includes: •

•

AQT: These are microinjection devices to help practitioners administer therapeutic agents to address skin conditions using drugs of their choice. The series includes AQT001, an acclaimed product used by renowned plastic surgeons. Very soon, it will introduce AQT – 004, a lowdose microchannel microinjector, particularly to deliver Botulinum toxin. PITO: The PITO – 001 or Apollo™ is a smart technology platform and microinjector built on a desktop configuration that compounds customized formulations for interdermal delivery. It is also integrated with AI and Big-Data technology which analyzes specific needs and recommends personalized treatments (MAV Series). Both of these products are soon to release.

Aquavit’s products have proved to be an integral asset to improve and optimize patient care. Its microchannel technologies are offering customizable skincare options to physicians and individuals. And since these products have a range of applications, it meets client satisfaction evidently. Over the years, Aquavit’s clients have used its technology to treat hundreds and thousands of patients and haven’t received any major complications so far. The Company has subsidiaries in the USA and South Korea to develop, manufacture and distribute its technologies. Due to its focus on customer satisfaction and product quality, Aquavit is welcomed with open arms and valued in the evolving market. AN INTEGRAL ROLE AMID COVID-19 Interestingly, the pandemic has spired numerous challenges in terms of healthcare, particularly skincare. Nowadays, everyone

on the road has to wear masks all the time. While it plays a vital role in reducing the spread, it can often be hard on the skin and cause a range of skin problems (Acne, Peeling Skin, Rashes, etc.). Aquavit made a significant contribution to this scenario. With its breakthrough product Inner B System®, the Health-Tech Company is helping people hydrate, cool and prevent breakouts. The product combines Salicylic Acid and Allantoin for blemish control; and comes in a hydrogel form that can be worn under the skin discreetly. And not to mention, the product is patented! It has proven to be very useful for healthcare professionals who are wearing PPE Kits day-in and day-out. In addition, Aquavit has developed a microchannel delivery apparatus for epidermal vaccinations. When vaccinations are administered to the epidermis of the skin, an immune inductive site rich in antigen cells is activated. This allows vaccines to be delivered through the skin. Aquavit’s invention is painless, user-friendly, and requires little knowledge. And it is applicable in the current scenario, based on the restrictions to access healthcare. THE ONE BEHIND THE DYNAMICS Every successful innovation has a visionary behind it who has the experience and motivation to create something worthwhile. Sobin Chang is the brains and visionary of Aquavit. She has a wealth of knowledge in pharmaceuticals, devices, and biologics, spanning from the well-known brand BOTOX® to a $7.5 billion oncology portfolio. She has extensive experience in management, marketing, and research, having worked for pharma MNCs such as Pfizer, Bayer, Schering-Plough (Merck), Novartis, and Allergan. She has also served the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA DDMAC), providing guidance on the FDA Modernization Act. Besides Aquavit, she also chairs as a Director of the Board at AYAPH (Association of Yale Alumni in Public Health). On the other hand, she is a Pharmacoeconomist with over 60 publications to her credit. She was the keynote speaker at the Big Data in Pharma conference in Philadelphia recently. Her astute leadership is helping Aquavit democratize the need for personalized healthcare over the conventional. Her therapeutic experience spans Neuroscience, Dermatology, Infectious Disease, Allergy & Immunology, and Oncology, and she has over 25 patents to her name. 21

A ZESTFUL MILIEU Having a leader of strong acumen, it’s no doubt Aquavit has a very dynamic culture. Sobin has over 20+ years of industrial experience, which has helped her create a fun yet challenging environment. However, she’s not alone. Her leadership panel includes Timothy Sherwood (SVP, Finance & Human Resources), Sai Sankar (Chief Biomedical Engineer), Chrissie Dipasquale (Customer Relations) and Vishruth Cavale (Project Manager). They collaborate and often take on multiple roles to create a model culture that helps Aquavit to thrive. The cohesiveness was very helpful during the Pandemic outbreak. Sobin speaks on this, “We were able to overcome the pandemic through lean operations management and focusing on the important matters.” They swiftly switched to online communications and a remote work model, which helped them adapt and overcome the chaos. INCESSANT TOWARDS PATIENT CARE Over the last decade, Aquavit has created a robust IP portfolio that speaks volumes about its achievements in the healthcare realm. The AQT-001 is a Class-I FDA listed medical device and a proud milestone of Aquavit. The Company is also witnessing rising opportunities in personalized treatment regimens. And to grow on them, it aims to develop the PITO series that’ll allow in creating a niche in the market as well as people’s lives.

A THOUGHTFUL MEMO FROM THE CEO “Find your roots and be resilient to overcome obstacles and see through your success.”

Secure And Sophisticated Digital Document Processing Indranil Roy | Business Connect

O

NLYOFFICE is a free and open-source editor for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and a great alternative to MS Office Apps. Since people are turning more to open source technology, this SaaS Online Office Suit has been a game-changer. It enables users to edit their valuable business data on a secured server. And it’s completely compatible with MS Office formats DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX. Put it simply, the editors offer Ms Office-like functionality and are collaborative like Google Docs. Moreover, for additional protection of confidential files, ONLYOFFICE offers exclusive private rooms. It’s a robust document encryption protocol enabling users to securely share and co-edit documents in real-time. With a gamut of tailored features, ONLYOFFICE has grown into a trusted envelope for digital documents. Very soon, the online suite will be bundled with a smart feature to automate user’s paperwork routine through interactive electronic documents. These will be similar to adobe and befitting to online collaboration. With such underlying infrastructure, ONLYOFFICE surely promises to be a tough competitor to many global magnets.

THE IDEATION

ONLYOFFICE is found by Mr Lev Bannov (CEO) in 2009 under the banner of Ascensio System SIA. Before becoming a sensation, it was devised for internal office use under the banner - Team Lab. Back then, the Company was building collaborative project management tools for internal use. After several endeavours, it developed an in-house Office suite based on HTML 5 canvas. In the coming years, the project grew, and the Company renamed it as ONLYOFFICE and published it as an open-source code. As of now, ONLYOFFICE is a premier collaborative office suite, promising secure, powerful and accessible document processing across verticals. ONLYOFFICE can be installed on a desktop or smart device and adjoined with other applications for better efficiency.

enabler by heart, ONLYOFFICE faces struggle in technical and marketing aspects. Product security, reliability and high quality ensure the scalable standard of its product. And using technology, these aspects need to be nurtured constantly. Another hurdle is promoting the product. Although ONLYOFFICE is a globally established platform, promoting it in new geographies often becomes - quite a challenge.

A FLEXIBLE PRODUCT SUITE

In this interconnected era, transitions and challenges in businesses are widely common phenomena. Technology is an increasingly disruptive sector - and has an avalanche of challenges. Every company has its unique set of concerns, but improving product/service quality is fairly typical. Being a techwww.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition October 2021 INDIA

Lev Bannov CEO

22

On top of these, Technology is spurring new opportunities and challenges every day. And with that, customers are more attracted to a product’s add-on features. Likewise, a modern office suite is expected to be accessible from the cloud, have a desktop application and provide mobile suites with enhanced security. Now that, majority of the businesses are online, it’s more likely to migrate to cloud technology for customized solutions. Last but not least, users are preferring a more open and decentralized ecosystem that enables them to choose different solutions accustomed to their needs. While these might shake things - a little bit, ONLYOFFICE keeps its sails high by working as a team. They hold meetings and collaboratively form solutions distinct from problems. Moreover, meetings also become a source of learning about industrial trends. Its centric features adhere to every requirement, ensuring a value for money to clients.

culture of collaboration over competition. With a zealous leader and win-win approach, ONLYOFFICE has sustained over a decade of the journey. ONLYOFFICE has formed a very cohesive and professional culture that can navigate the Company through highs and lows to forward.

SWIFTLY DEALING WITH COVID-19

While COVID-19 put everyone’s skill to the test, it gave impetus to style and work in new ways. Like every prosperous entity, ONLYOFFICE swiftly adapted to remote work and provided appropriate hardware and infrastructure to employees to work comfortably from home. Communication tools, such as Telegram and Zoom, were a big help to uphold the collaboration of the team. The founder says it was surprising how tactically every individual was dealing with the pandemic while working from home. When the scenario began coming under control, few employees were allowed back at the office but not without proper precaution, like sanitisers, medical face masks, gloves, etc.

DEEPLY ANALYSED SOLUTIONS

As mentioned above, ONLYOFICE is adaptive to scenarios and trends. And for that, R&D and data analytics plays a prominent part. Nonetheless, it does not rely on technologies for analytics, rather standard methods. Not only does it save time, but increases overall efficiency too. ONLYOFICE has skilled programmers with a robust academic background. They use their expertise to understand emerging software from the core and how it can benefit the Company’s product. Analytics also contributes to customer satisfaction. Besides putting efforts into quality, a lion’s share effort goes to collecting customer feedback. Listening and collecting their suggestions helps in adding certain features in the product or in its portfolio for further implementation.

AIDING THE LARGER COMMUNITY

Besides enabling collaboration with software products, ONLYOFFICE makes a fair amount of social contribution by offering its SaaS solution to NGOs for free.

“Any non-business entity can send us a request, and we will allow them to create a free collaborative office in the ONLYOFFICE cloud. There are a lot of such use cases in different countries, and we are proud of this achievement,” proudly asserts Lev.

Working on a centric model, ONLYOFFICE has been a valuable asset to businesses of all sizes. Its users hail from education, public administration, banking, legal, etc. Unlike its peers, ONLYOFFICE can be deployed as a self-hosted solution within a private network in integration with ONLYOFFICE Workspace or any other file-sharing platform or enterprise content management system. Both the online and desktop editors are built on the same engine, which ensures a similar functionality. Moreover, it offers mobile apps for on-the-go document collaboration on iOS and Android.

A REWARDING EXCURSION

Being a niche product, ONLYOFFICE has constantly aligned itself with the technology curve to succeed. Off-course, the underlying efforts brought valuable experience, but more importantly, enabled it to emphasize employees. It initially sought trained specialists but quickly discovered that young and ambitious professionals who value corporate principles would be assertive to growth. Since then, ONLYOFFICE has been empowering young assets capable of building a competitive product and uphold its core ethics - it’s truly a major achievement.

THE VISION OF A VISIONARY

While technology, research and talent are three pillars of a Company, they can’t function without a diligent leader. Lev is a visionary, and being the executioner of this excursion, played an integral role in decision-making, development of the philosophy and marketing strategy. At the outset of the ONLYOFFICE project, Lev and his team were greatly inspired by Google Docs. However, they believed in creating something different and profound.

“The idea was to find our own niche within the international system of labour division”,

With such resources on board, ONLYOFFICE is planning to further explore opportunities in their space, especially cloud and mobile technologies. People are more inclined to online SaaS-based products for better efficiency and yield. Not to mention, the increasing use of Smart devices is pulling a shadow over desktop applications. Based on that cognizance, ONLYOFFICE will continue delivering tailored cloud solutions; and mobile apps for Android and iOS.

says Lev. A PARTING NOTE

However, there weren’t enough resources that could help in growing like Google Docs; hence, ONLYOFFICE was focused on integrating with other software products. While most players focus on competition, ONLYOFFICE stepped out, creating a niche by collaborating with able platforms. One of its programmers explains it better, “We stick to another approach. We don’t seek confrontation with our competitors but want to find a sustainable place in the software market”.

“Have one ambitious goal and follow it. And always be clued about the knowhow of your expertise. And since it’s always not possible to be a virtuoso, delegate responsibilities to suitable people,” Lev Bannov (CEO). 23

7 TOP TIPS TO BOOST YOUR STARTUP BUSINESS Here are 7 valuable tips to give your fledgling company a boost: CASH FLOW FORECASTING

As Sir Richard Branson says “The cash flow of a company is the life and blood of a business, so never take your eyes off it.” Budgets that are long-term must provide reasonable estimates of potential revenue and expenditures. Start-up costs vary, but when they do, entrepreneurs should be prepared for the worst-case scenario. Since anything can happen over a business’s lifecycle, it’s best to build longterm budgets and financial estimates. Forecasting aids company owners in putting aside money for potential expenditures. These expenses can be both personal and business-related.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED

Plan to continue reinforcing your brand and strengthening your image by focusing on customer service and satisfaction. The brand of a business is simply how it is viewed. A happy customer is more than a recommendation; it’s a powerful branding statement.

ENHANCE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES

The advent of social media has altered how companies operate and how the general public interacts with them. While it used to be much more difficult for a customer to share their questions or experiences after a brand encounter, it is now easier than ever for the two to communicate and share details. The best websites are LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, AngelList, and Pinterest accounts. If you want to reach a larger audience, being more engaged with social media will help. It’s important to remember that social media is a two-way platform that allows people to communicate and share information. Rather than simply posting ads on your platform, try to engage with your potential and current customers by answering questions and providing opportunities for them to communicate with you further. Your customers will appreciate the effort, and you will appreciate the outcome.

PROVIDE THE AUDIENCE WITH USEFUL KNOWLEDGE

Many people, on the other hand, make the popular mistake of believing that marketing consists solely of commercials and promotional material. In reality, it’s a way of better communicating with your audience by getting a better understanding of their desires and needs, as well as demonstrating your importance to them. Sharing valuable and insightful content with your audience is a perfect way to do this. This will demonstrate to them that your goods or services are important to their needs and that you have the expertise and knowledge necessary to provide accurate information. An e-book or guide, case studies, infographics, blog posts can be a powerful tool for disseminating material, it’s worth taking the time to learn how to write one.

TAKE EXPERT ASSISTANCE WHEN REQUIRED, DON’T HESITATE TO CONTACT It’s tempting for new business owners to try to do everything themselves because it’s a good way to save money. However, this can sometimes stifle a company’s growth, and in some cases, relying on the experts is more effective. Take new ideas from experts to improve your business. Paying an expert will also save you time and allow you to concentrate more on the tasks you are better able to do if you are attempting something you are unfamiliar with, particularly if you are taking on a task that needs a highly specific skill set.

MAKE GOOD FRIENDS

Make an effort to form new friendships. Meet new people, strike up a conversation, and build meaningful relationships that will enhance your life and well-being.

BUILD AN ADVISORY BOARD

Business advisory boards can be extremely beneficial to a company’s growth. People with connections to top professionals with a variety of skills may be brought in as low-cost advisors to help the company expand.

Marketing is one of the best means of successful business promotion, and it can be a powerful way to expose the company to a wider audience.

Running a company necessitates a high level of organization and adherence to a strategic plan. It’s important to strike a balance between all of your focus areas, as this will help you better manage your resources and coordinate your finances. The best part for Indian businesses is that the country has been declared the world’s third-largest tech start-up hub. Furthermore, India’s Ease of Doing Business index has risen significantly from 130 in 2016 to 63 in 2020. According to the most recent reports in India, start-ups come from 54 different sectors, with IT services and Healthcare & Lifesciences registering the most start-ups, followed by education. Thousands of young entrepreneurs have taken the plunge into starting their own businesses in the last few years as a way to gain leverage over their professional careers or raise their profits.

“

“

Entrepreneurship can be described as recognizing change, seeking opportunity, accepting risk and obligation, innovating, bettering resource use, generating new value that is meaningful to customers, and repeating the process. Budget 2021 has recognized the importance of start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) in India’s future, which includes growth in technology-driven and manufacturing businesses, which will help India achieve its goal of a $5 trillion economy.

Why should you pay attention to customer Retention ? TRIPESH DAS | Director, Creative Factor

“Customers are like mango trees, and if you nurture them right,

All businesses require a consistent source of earnings for both survival and growth, and retaining customers can assist companies in achieving this. Consider this question, if any company keeps all its customer since its inception, what will be its current position in the market?

“

they will bear enough fruits for you- year after year.

EVERY CUSTOMER IS UNIQUE. Mass customisation is the most “in” thing for businesses today. When a company recognises the opportunities of mass customisation, clubbed with one-to-one marketing, it retains and attracts customers simultaneously. It begins with a deeper understanding of the customer, and the learnings are then applied to co-create the solution. Starbucks is the early adopter of mass customisation. Still, this trend is not limited to only B2C companies, and it can be leveraged as an effective strategy for B2B companies as well. When customers invest their time educating their service provider, they are more likely to avoid teaching a new supplier.

Many studies have indicated that your existing customer is more likely to accept a new idea than a new customer. Statistical data proves that customer retention can immensely increase profitability by up to 90%. Despite the facts presented, many organisations fail to focus on their existing customers and focus their energies on acquiring new customers.

CUSTOMER INTELLIGENCE IS NOT A STEREOTYPICAL SEGMENT It’s not just about creating a fantastic product or solution; it’s also about the right timing. Accountbased marketing (ABM) aids businesses to identify and define each customer’s journey and create an experience that adds value to the customer’s purpose. To meet the ABM goals, organisations must now focus on analysing client databases beyond names and email addresses and divert their efforts towards developing a customised tool to capture more valuable intelligence about the customers and their pursuits. It requires a combined effort between the sales and marketing teams to create a fabulous customer journey while proactively communicating and developing solutions.

PAYING ATTENTION TO CUSTOMER CHURN RATE Intelligent businesses worldwide are leveraging big data to understand the various opportunities from their customer churn rate. For example, by studying the churn data by segment, you can avert the likelihood of a departing customer segment. A churn rate is a good starting point to derive the retention strategy. CUSTOMER CENTRICITY OVER CUSTOMER LOYALTY Customer loyalty through rebates, discounts are an expensive proposition for any company regardless of its size. Being relevant to your customer is a much better business approach. When a company thinks from the point of view of its customers, it exceeds customer expectations. When you approach your business from customer-centricity, your success rate improves dramatically, allowing the company to reinvent itself and enhance relevance to its customers.

Since 2009, Creative Factor has worked with its customers, co-creating comprehensive marketing solutions to meet its customer’s strategic goals. Over the years, we have evolved our practices along with the world and acquired in-depth knowledge of the B2B marketing world. Today, we have integrated the complete lifecycle loop of the customer journey from acquisition to purchase and retention to purchase cycle.

Top 5 Business Intelligence Tools Nowadays, a vast amount of data is generated in companies all the time, and this data needs to be analyzed to make important business decisions. To do so, several tools are available in the market to turn raw data into valuable business insights, collectively known as Business Intelligence tools. In terms of market size, the Business Intelligence (BI) software industry is rapidly becoming one of the most significant. According to recent reports, the global Business Intelligence market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.8 percentfrom 2021 to 2026, from US$26.50 billion in 2021 to US$33.77 billion in 2026.

The increasing emphasis on digital transformation, rising investments in analytics, rising demand for dashboards for data visualization, increased cloud adoption, and increased data generation are all major factors driving the Intelligence and Analytics Software market size.

Tableau dashboards can be produced in minutes using simple drag-and-drop data field applications. To explore and develop Tableau dashboards, you don’t need any technical expertise. It’s easy to use on any computer, and the results are simple enough for everyone to understand and use at any time.

The following are the top 5 Business Intelligence tools that grab attention and are used by millions of companies hunting for great business insights

Tableau has five major projects to choose from. Tableau desktop comes first, followed by Tableau online, reader, and finally Tableau public. Tableau’s other notable features include: In Tableau, you can simply pick the data and switch between visualizations on the fly, making switching between visualizations extremely simple. Tableau, on the other hand, visualizes data from the outset, allowing you to see this important information in a new light.

POWER BI Power BI is a cloud-based business intelligence analytics service from Microsoft that allows you to analyze and visualize data. It generates and publishes innovative and clear reports for a particular company. Anyone can build custom dashboards with a unique 360-degree view of their company using Power BI.

Tableau also provides users with a variety of options for answering questions while they explore data visualization. Tableau also offers a range of enterprise-level deployment delivery and consulting services. It also enables users to build custom formulas that aren’t available in other software, and it has hundreds of native connectors that enable users to easily pull, cleanse, and compare data from virtually any source without writing custom code.

It will first bind to a variety of data sources, form the data to your specifications, and then model the data using relationships, equations, and hierarchies. You can produce beautiful reports for your company from all angles using visual software and a custom gallery, and it then publishes the reports securely and sets up an automated data refresh. There’s Power BI’s one-of-a-kind feature for printing exact dashboards, which can come in handy during board meetings and discussions. Finally, Power BI provides a visualisation library. DNIF HYPERSCALE SIEM A ROBUST SHIELD AGAINST THE TRANSFORMING THREAT LANDSCAPE Indranil Roy | Business Connect

T

he frequency of cyber-security concerns has had a steep rise over the last few years. Attacks like DDoS, destructive malware, etc., pose a direct threat to a company’s digital framework, data caches, etc. In the wake of these threats, companies are turning to SIEM as a proactive solution. SIEM is a proven means to thwart all kinds of security concerns in the digital space. It can analyse and track any alarming event across multiple sources and guide users in addressing them. DNIF HyperScale SIEM is a solution that converges traditional SIEM capabilities with additional technologies, such as SIEM, UEBA, and SOAR, to build a single high-value solution to counter diverse security threats. Mr. Shomiron Das Gupta (CEO & Founder, DNIF), the HyperScale SIEM’s creator, recently spoke with our magazine about the striking aspects of the HyperScale SIEM. Shomiron discussed how his reimagined invention protects enterprises from the threat landscape and aids in data scaling. The following piece is inspired by the free-wheeling conversation.

Shomiron Das Gupta Founder & CEO

MORE THAN A CONVENTIONAL SIEM

DNIF offers hyper-ingestion and scalable performance in log data collection and threat detection using behavioural analysis, MLdriven analytics and the latest threat intelligence to identify and mitigate emerging attacks. One can store data

www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition October 2021 INDIA

32

in an accessible and distributed environment and process it in parallel. The open architecture provides a broad array of geared up actions while being cost efficient. And it can be deployed in a variety of businesses, both private and public, where regulatory compliance is a key consideration.

The HyperScale SIEM is fully compliant with the emerging concerns of the pandemic. It also enables clients’ security products to scale huge data generation, a rising concern amid the pandemic.

MEETING THE CORE CONCERNS

DNIF comes in two different editions, Community and Enterprise. But, the Community Edition has exploded in popularity among clients.

“It’s an endeavour to bring our community together and encourage its members to contribute to the product,” says Shomiron.

DNIF has been used by clients to ingest data from a variety of log sources (network, applications, servers, endpoints, and so on). With the increasing digitization, organisations are facing a fast-evolving threat landscape. The majority of cyberattacks go undetected, and companies are unaware of the full scope of the threats. To steer clear, they seek a product that offers enterprise-wide transparency at a reasonable total cost of ownership (TCO).

But how is it different from other freemium versions in the market? It doesn’t limit the volume of data inputs or the number of device integrations. It has all the offerings of the enterprise edition, including entitlements, Architecture, Deployment, Analytics, Data Management, etc. Having said that, the enterprise edition comes at a competitive price. Clients get to choose between an uncapped device licence and a monthly volume licence, depending on their needs. Both editions are scalable and adaptable, allowing them to be combined with third-party applications as needed.

Secondly, an integrated solution capable of detecting, validating, and remediating threats across client’s network devices and applications can be beneficial. DNIF offers all of these under a single parasol. It enables clients to incorporate Sysmon Logs and achieve detection coverage for a variety of threats. Several banking clients have combined it with their swift infrastructure to deploy automated workbooks and detect outliers. Doing so, they have successfully shred manual integrations by 55%. It has been implemented by 50+ clients across the globe, primarily from BFSI and Manufacturing.

THE BREAKTHROUGH

CLOGGED WITH LUCRATIVE AMENITIES

The idea of a HyperScale SIEM was born in the aftermath of COVID-19. With more users connecting a single SIEM product to different network devices, collecting and deciphering terabytes of log data for threats becomes onerous for a traditional SIEM. In particular, it couldn’t live up to the speed required for detecting threats. DNIF, however, totally changes that. It offers advanced security analytics and response automation, as it stems from a big data analytics engine. Also, it has ML-based anomaly and threat detection models for sophisticated cyberattacks - this aids in processing efficiency and reducing risks. Moreover, it solves the long-running issues of combining data sets with accurate analysis in a single pane view for network security, security automation, and response architecture. Simply put, as a hyper-scale product, DNIF has enabled its clients in building a centralised data lake while proactively assessing vulnerabilities across environments.

With the emerging security threats in the digital ecosystem, numerous SIEM tools have flourished in the market. To be specific, there are 50+ SIEM solutions in the market with competitive log management features. To have the upper hand in the competition, DNIF comes with a lot of salient features. It allows agentless log collecting and analysis from any source, as well as real-time data enrichment with identity, asset, geolocation, threat intelligence, and data from lookup tables. The advanced threat detection and management engine provide a real picture of what’s going on within a network. In addition, to defend against both internal and external attacks, the User Behaviour Analytics (UBA) tool incorporated in the product continuously monitors user and device activities; not to mention the smart log management feature, wherein all client’s server logs and metrics are aggregated into a centralised system in real time.

MEET THE INVENTOR OF HYPERSCALE SIEM Combining his skill set as an intrusion analyst with a passion for tech advancements, Shomiron founded NETMONASTERY in 2002 and has been building threat detection systems for close to two decades. And while a single tool at a low-cost may seem preferable over a specialised SIEM tool, there is a catch. A log management tool is merely a subset of a specialised SIEM tool. And it’s not well-equipped for sophisticated threats, malware detection, warning, and situational awareness. Shomiron believes that an integrated platform adaptable and scalable to the changing threat landscape that provides transparency at a fair cost is the need of the hour. And it was there that he had the concept for a Hyperscale SIEM. It was clearly the appropriate move, as evidenced by the growing number of clients. He has set sights on making the platform, particularly the community edition, available to as many SecOps and developers as possible.

Automobile

The automobile industry is one of the most important drivers of India’s economic growth. Recently, a large number of startups have entered the Indian electric vehicle industry. With the country on track to become the fourth-largest EV market in the world in the next 20 years, entrepreneurs are seizing the opportunity. India’s Electric Vehicle Startups are leading the way to a Greener Future. The more powerful electric cars become, the more quickly will be gasoline-powered vehicles eliminated from the highways, which are one of the main sources of pollution. According to recent reports, in the base case scenario, the EV market is projected to rise at a CAGR of 44 percent between 2021 and 2027, reaching 6.34 million annual sales by 2027. What are Electric Vehicles? An electric vehicle (EV) is something that uses an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine that burns a mixture of fuel and gases to produce electricity. Challenges with Electric Vehicles The biggest challenge with Electric Vehicles in India is the fact that EVs run on Lithium-ion batteries, which are expensive as they are imported. Growth Institute is led by Daniel Marcos, CEO. Being a self-made entrepreneur, Daniel believed in creating leaders through endto-end guidance, something he never had. In 2012, he co-founded Growth Institute with Verne Harnish, launching a mission to shape dynamic leaders with hindsight for tomorrow. And stating the growth, it’s evident the mission is upholding pretty well. Growth Institute is currently one of the leading and mushrooming institutes based in the USA. For 3 years in a row, it has been recognized amongst the top 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the country, with over 40,000 members across 64 countries. With such prowess, Growth Institute envisages helping 1 million entrepreneurs across the globe scale success.

A HYBRID LEARNING MODEL

Every startup has a different story and obstacles, but mid-market players, challenges are a whole other level. Despite the prominence in an economy, they lack the appropriate resources to become successful. The paradox further brings complexity as they bring more people on board. Growth Institute believes in changing the scenario and help them thrive. Its proprietary framework, “The Hybrid Learning Model,” is adaptable to a broad spectrum of industries.

“Whether it’s a $5 Million or $50 Million Company, the principles, strategies, and tactics we use are proven to work time and time again”, affirms Daniel. The model offers – • Direct learning from world-class Thought Leaders • Live group coaching with experts • A system toolkit for business optimization • Peer Masterminding for accelerated results from the initial stage Growth Institute comprehends the distinct stages of a startup and shifts gears from one stage to the next. In the process, a business leader evolves from entrepreneur to CEO. The learning model enables better leadership, teamwork, accelerating exponential growth, scaling more impact in fewer efforts and the freedom as an entrepreneur. It allows clients to choose amongst self-paced learning programs, depending on whether they want to complete courses on their own time and pace or participate in hybrid cohorts with peers and mentors following a set schedule that balances asynchronous pre-recorded content and synchronous discussions. The ultimate goal is to assist companies in staying on track with their objectives at every stage of growth and be exit-ready at all times.

THE COMPETITIVE EDGE

Just like everything else, innovations have had a paradigm shift, influencing every industrial vertical. It has enabled business leaders to create scalable organizations ingrained with a bulletproof business model. As for Daniel, technology has helped him strategize a business model conducive to this new technological age. It has allowed him to bridge the traditional linear organization with its exponential environment,

creating 10 times for effective company than his peers. Furthermore, its premium program Master of Business Dynamics (MBD) and rebranding it as ‘MBD All Access’ gives it an edge. The online interactive program allows clients to subscribe to a bundle of top 6 Master Business Courses, coached by the most influential thought leaders. Although the program was for CEOs and C-Suites, these leaders have enrolled executive teams in the program too. They recognize that each methodology requires a multidisciplinary approach and a collaborative effort to achieve transformational growth.

AN INNOVATIVE CORE

“The barrier to incentivizing innovative behaviour is not knowing what to do, it is having the conviction to do it”, Kaihan Krippendorff. There are many ways that separate an entrepreneur from others, but above all, it is their ability and willingness to learn that distinguishes them.

Even Daniel says, “Leaders are learners. And even though as CEOs we’re always busy, having a dedicated time for learning is the one thing you can’t skip out on”. It helps in becoming better decisionmakers, fast learners and act proactively. This is one of the core values of Growth Institute. It follows an internal notion ‘Eat our own dog food’, meaning practising what you preach. The Company seeks and implements systems that keep them innovative from within. Moreover, Daniel follows Kaihan’s “Outthink the Competition”, which helps in styling an innovative framework. Growth Institute is constantly driving efforts to develop its inherent resources (Talents – their abilities, intelligence and emotional growth). In addition, it works on side projects to help the employees get new ideas off the ground. Stepping above the ‘Business as usual’ mindset, Growth Institute ensures a constant improvement in each employee to become the preferred incubator, evidently.

RISING ABOVE COVID-19

Despite the glooms and dooms of 41

COVID-19, Growth Institute had a seismic growth. The Institute faced a crisis in terms of lead generation and revenue, but things improved over time.

“Companies understood the importance of equipping themselves and their teams with tools that could help them navigate through the crisis, so they turned to us for quality training,” states Daniel. Growth Institute found a great opportunity in training leaders with their team. Since leaders are involving their teams in a transformational learning process drives their growth mindset and integrity towards their company.

THE PASSION OF A PEOPLE’S PERSON

There is an old saying, “Teamwork makes Dreamwork”. Although it’s not a doctrine, it does reflect Daniel as a person. He is an ambitious yet selfless and humble leader with a great vision and a genuine curiosity and, not to mention, a great learner. He always believes in ‘WE’ whether its challenges, achievements, success or failure. He has created a team of like-minded executives who are a great complement to his leadership. The team consists of - both strategists and executors - top of their game with individual responsibility in the Institute’s growth. The collaboration of these executives has ensured transparency across different dept. in the Company and kept the sails high over the years.

THE NEXT STEPS TO COVER

Completing nearly a decade of a journey, with a fervent leader and resourceful training programs, Growth Institute seeks to further double down on MBD All Access as a program. The Institute aims to make it the No. 1 e-Learning program for business leaders and their teams.

THE CEO’S MESSAGE TO READERS “Every company should have a learning mentality and a discipline to execute their strategy. They should have goals, vision, KPIs, accountabilities and processes to scale growth with less drama. And if you wish to develop the focus and discipline to scale your business, we welcome you with open arms”. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition October 2021 INDIA

Christophe expressed his immense pride of leading the team through these difficult times and how the team has demonstrated an inspiring and tireless team effort in the face of challenges or uncertainties.

RESILIENCY THROUGH CHALLENGES The past 18 months’ rapid digitization is driving both opportunities and uncertainty across the industry. As a technocrat, Christophe deals with a variety of endless new challenges that test his creativity, and places an emphasis on relationships – both internal and external – “I like putting my focus on ‘We’ instead of ‘I’”, he states. Christophe continues, “When we are faced with unprecedented challenges, we make decisions based on the concept of ‘Marginal Gains’”. The concept states that small and incremental improvements in any process lead to an overall improvement when they all add together.

BEING THE TORCHBEARER SS&C Intralinks has been a market leader since its inception, and its innovative technology, strong leadership, and bestin-industry talents are ingredients to its success globally and in APAC; Christophe’s shrewd leadership has played an integral part in this success. This approach has substantially helped him spread the company’s core values across APAC. Through his strategic leadership, Christophe has upheld the company’s objectives and approach towards stakeholders.

THE PREFACE

An innovative leader in the Customer Data Platform space Kajal Dobhal | Business Connect

I

n today’s digital landscape, an integrated, actionable customer dataset that is also compliant with strict privacy and security standards is crucial for any marketer looking to provide personalised customer experiences and remain competitive. To get more insights into Zeotap’s offering, our team sat down for a virtual chat with Projjol where we covered several aspects of his business portfolio.

“

“The impact of these efforts can be seen directly in key metrics like ROAS and retention rates. Yet, many marketers still struggle with creating a single view of the customer and actioning their data across campaigns - especially in a way that adheres to today’s privacy and compliance standards. Our next-gen Customer Data Platform bridges this gap,”

Founded by Projjol Banerjea and Daniel Heer in 2014, Zeotap began as a platform that provided data solutions for marketers. In 2019, the team saw a new data challenge emerging: the problem now was not the data itself, but using it. Marketers needed a way to unify customer data into a single view, store and segment it, and activate it across multiple channels. The deprecation of third-party cookies in 2023 also meant that most CDPs would be unable to recognise unauthenticated website visitors. This joint challenge of privacy and identity was holding marketers back from being able to harness their customer data to create competitive customer journeys. This led to the launch of Zeotap’s customer data platform in 2020. It enables marketers to unify, enhance and activate their customer data, preparing them for a ‘cookieless’ world that puts data privacy, compliance and customer consent front-and-centre. When it comes to its mission, Zeotap is determined to transform the world of customer intelligence. Every team member at the company shares the same passion to create something innovative that can make a real difference to their clients’ objectives - setting their sights on driving results backed by data.

While they strive to develop outperforming products and solutions to raise the bar, their client-partner relationshipbuilding strategies are formed over the groundwork of transparency and integrity. Zeotap is making leaps by addressing the pain points of marketers via its Customer Data Platform, ensuring a steadfast foundation for its future growth.

“In doing so, we’re hoping to deliver a balance on three priorities that have previously competed with each other: scalable results for the marketer, fairness and transparency for their customer, and fewer headaches for their DPO.”

CULTURAL PRINCIPLES

Zeotap has operated at a global level since its inception in 2014. Today, its offices are distributed across three continents, making it a multicultural and diverse workforce. This diversity in its culture has made Zeotap a fascinating institution to work for, where there is maximum exposure to several cultural values. In this regard, Projjol explains, “Though we’re stationed in many parts of the world, we use our collective intellect and creativity to engineer a smarter future - and always do so together.” The global repute of the company is the result of ceaseless dedication, determination and hard work of every employee.

THE COMPETITIVE EDGE

Zeotap emerged from Germany - a country that is well known for its strict data privacy and security standards. Projjol explains that, from a compliance standpoint, Zeotap is an unmatched player in the industry as most of the CDPs in the market are ill-equipped for these challenges. Zeotap delivers a solution for one of the biggest challenges in marketing today: safeguarding a consumer’s privacy while enabling marketers to continue to act at scale. “Zeotap’s platform is built to enable marketers to fully leverage and enrich their data, leading to insights that can be used not only in marketing but throughout the rest of their organisations,” affirms Projjol.

A GLIMPSE OF CORPORATE LESSONS FROM A LEADER

HARMONY WITH TECH TRENDS

The future of digital marketing is held on stricter privacy and security standards than ever, and brands are expected to maintain a balance between offering hyper-personalised experiences and adhering to these data security and privacy standards. With the deprecation of third-party cookies set to happen in 2023, marketers are also pushed to rely further on first-party data - thus increasing the pressure to have compliance under control.

“Innovation and collaboration have always been our core focus. Throughout our journey, we’ve emphasised the significance of keeping an open line of communication with our teams. I think anyone can agree that the last year has been a challenge in terms of maintaining morale and driving a collective vision forward, and as a leader I wanted to ensure that our teams have the resources they need to adapt and thrive, but also navigate the reality of these changes together and on a human level.

“As one of the few Customer Data Platforms made in and for - Europe, we know just how much marketers here can be paralysed by the challenges that data privacy regulations create, and that’s the problem we set out to solve,” said Projjol Banerjea, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Zeotap.

The changes we’ve experienced since 2020 have only made our organisation stronger, and my suggestion to others in the industry is to continue openly communicating to one another (both internally with your colleagues and with external partners and clients) to maintain strong relationships and succeed together.” 51

Education

Education Has Put off Physical Classrooms and Shifted to Online Classes The best days were when schools and colleges were open and students were seen rushing to school in neat and tidy uniforms with bags in their shoulders and sometimes running with those heavy bags to not get late. After reaching school, to stand for morning prayers and then some physical activities, after that straight to the classrooms filled with our classmates. The same way for college, when students were always confused with what to wear today, what period to bunk and go to the canteen, etc. Those days now seem to be just a memory to cherish. An education center is the best public policy tool available to raise skills. While school/college time can be fun along with raising social skills and social awareness if we look from an economic point of view the primary point of being in school/college was that it helped in increasing a child’s ability. But the arrival of COVID-19 has led to the departure of students going to education centers. Well! we say a coin has its two sides, the same way this too has both good and bad impressions but let’s just go for a positive version because 2020 has brought us enough negative things. Whatever the condition comes, one should never stop learning, and if one way of going to an educational center is closed than open another way of e-learning. The arrival of Covid-19 has forced schools and universities across the world to put off physical classrooms and shifted to online classes. While the faculty deals with the new ways of managing this sudden transition to online education, students are left clinging on to their mobile phones and computer screens.

FUTURE EDUCATION SYSTEM

The new way of learning where courses are conducted online, examinations are conducted online, assignments are submitted through email. For India, this seems to be a good opportunity to strengthen internet connectivity across rural India. It will help every village and town to be digitally connected for the better interaction between the students and teachers. When it comes to the students some are quick at adapting this system and some take a little longer time to acquaint with this system. Fundamental structural changes should be made in the curriculum/syllabi and programs should be a part of the curriculum in engineering and science degree programs. This will help in creating future entrepreneurs and this can be one way to help beat unemployment and increase business skills amongst the youth. The business community should play a foremost role in this new educational system. Higher education in India needs to be more international but more locally connected and socially responsible, more flexible(curriculum), should be innovative and open for more collaboration. Innovative models should be introduced, Universities/institutes could be online that would provide internet-based flexible offerings. The Post Covid-19 is an opportunity we look forward to transforming the higher education system. Institutes/Universities should definitely utilize this opportunity to transform itself. the focus should be more on internationalizing higher education as today we are facing Covid-19 but no one knows what lies ahead in the future for millions of youngsters.
