The Rainier Beach Apartment (RBA) is a five-story, market-rate housing development at South Henderson Street and Rainier Avenue South in Seattle. It features 104 residential units ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, alongside ground-level retail spaces, including coffee shops, restaurants, and a farmer’s market. Designed to enhance community connectivity and sustainability, RBA incorporates amenities such as a gym, rooftop solarium, and landscaped gardens supporting urban agriculture. Its biophilic design emphasizes natural light, greenery, and communal spaces, fostering well-being and social engagement. Located near transit hubs, RBA aligns with Urban Village goals for walkability, local economic vitality, and environmental stewardship. RBA exemplifies innovative, equitable development by combining housing with sustainable urban design. It serves as a model for balancing growth with community preservation, offering vibrant public spaces, accessible transit, and environmental solutions. Exhibiting this project will inspire architects and planners to create livable, sustainable neighborhoods that prioritize community and ecological harmony.
