We have been conducting environmental site assessments since the 1990s and provide consulting services to recipients of U.S. EPA Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup, and Revolving Loan Fund Grants. Our services include Phase I/II site assessments on single parcels, metal plating operations, textile manufacturing, oil storage facilities, as well as historic, industrial, and residential properties. We provide Quality Assurance Project Plans and health and safety plans, remedial action plans, and pre-demolition surveys (including hazardous materials), as well as manage the review process with local/state officials, architects, developers, and remediation contractors. Environmental Assessment & Remediation We have been conducting Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments throughout New England on a daily basis since the 1980s. Many of our projects involve USEPAfunded assessments, including ASTM E1527 – 13 Phase I Assessments, Phase II and USTs to investigations of industrial facilities involving dozens of areas of concern, multiple contaminant types, and complex geological settings. We incorporate innovative techniques to streamline the investigative/remedial design process, reduce costs, and encourage the use of green remedial alternatives.

Phase III ESAs. Studies include investigations of petroleum hydrocarbon releases from
We design site remediation to facilitate property reuse goals and have developed a track record of obtaining approvals for creative solutions due to strong working relationships with regulators. Remediation requirements can be complex; however, there are opportunities to apply creative engineering approaches to decrease the costs of remediation. These include obtaining approval for decreasing the thickness of caps, developing a site grading plan that minimizes the generation of excess contaminated soil, integrating remedial alternatives into the site design so that the infrastructure serves as a component of remediation, and considerations to address climate change. For the USEPA’s program, the process involves preparation of Remedial Action Plans (RAPs), Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), Soil Management Plans, and Order of Magnitude Opinions of Probable Remedial Cost for contaminated properties. Remedial concepts are presented based on discussions with the client, potential developers, and other community stakeholders. The type of information contained in these documents includes sustainable design and green remediation techniques, mitigation of vapor intrusion and light non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPL) migration, and addressing urban fill.
