With four teams having at least eight wins, the playoffs will certainly be full of tough games! The St.. Pete Lil Devils and the Lakewood Spartans are the top two seeds and have earned byes in the first round. The Pinellas Park Thunderbirds take on the Countryside Cougars for a shot at the Spartans. The Northeast Bandits play the Azalea Bulldogs with the winner facing the Devils in the semi finals.

Dapo dropped time in every single event in which he swam, as he accumulated four first place medals as well as five second place finishes. Dapo dropped 20.23 seconds in his 200IM and a whopping 36.55, which was

KICKING IT UP... Ten year old Kaitlyn Pamplona from Pro Karate Center in Palm Harbor competed on the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) circuit during 2014. She was the 2014 Florida State Champion in Weapons, Sparring and Kata. After taking the state championships, she was eligible to go on to the 2014 National Competition in Fort Lauderdale. Kaitlyn took 2 gold medals at the Nationals, 1 in Kata and the other in Sparring. After doing an outstanding job at the Nationals, she tried out for the 2014 USA National team, which competes all over the world. Kaitlyn received a letter in early September inviting her on the USA National Team based on her performance throughout the year. The USA National team traveled to Poland to compete in the World Championships in early October,

LAST MINUTE GOAL GIVES OLDSMAR GIRLS TITLE
T
he U19 Oldsmar FC Women’s Competitive Team took home the gold at the 2014 Tampa Bay Labor Day Showcase held at Lakewood Ranch. Playing in the Elite Division, Oldsmar opened the tournament by blanking the South Kendall Sunblazers 3-zip. Oldsmar jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Jordan Diershow took a pass from Emily Cady and drilled the shot into the back of the net. Nina Verdon scored off a Brooke Oliver pass to make it 2-nil and Cady added a third goal for good measure. Keeper Briana Coyle turned back all shots to preserve the shutout.
The third game of the tournament against Tampa Bay United, was a pivotal one as a win would insure them a spot in the finals. However, a loss would leave the Oldsmar girls’ chances in the hands of a tie breaker.
Oldsmar’s zone, defenders Anika Dabo, Lindzy Suchomely and Mili Militello would put the brakes on the United’s offense. Goal tender, Briana Coyle, continued to do her impression of a brick wall, stopping every shot by Tampa Bay, until one blast slipped past her, giving United a 1-0 advantage. The Oldsmar offense applied pressure, but were unable to break through with a goal of their own.

Become a Guardian ad Litem
Over 1,000 children in Pinellas County do not have a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. As a Guardian ad Litem, you advocate in court and in the child welfare system for abused, abandoned, or neglected children. The Guardian ad Litem visits the child every month, becomes familiar with the child’s case, and makes recommedations to the court to help ensure the child has a safe, caring, and stable home. No prior experience is necessary; you will be well trained and supported by an experienced supervisory and legal staff. Once trained, volunteers spend an average of ten hours a month.
