New Rock & Pop Band Project
Portobello Music School has launched an exciting new mentored Rock & Pop Band Project for 2020. The project offers weekly 45-minute mentored band sessions for 12 to18 year old singers, electric guitarists, bassists, keyboard players and drummers who have been playing for a few years and can play their instruments to a level of Grade 3 or above. They have a couple of spaces remaining this term for singers and guitarists. From August 2020, all three and four-year-olds and eligible two-year-olds in Scotland will be entitled to almost double the current funded childcare allowance - from 600 to 1140 hours per year. This is around 30 hours per week during term time. As a parent or carer, you could use some or all of your hours with a childminder, as long as they are listed as an approved provider with their local authority.

Childminding is consistently rated by the Care Inspectorate as being one of the highest quality forms of childcare in Scotland and follows the same learning and policy frameworks as nurseries (including Curriculum for Excellence). The Pregnancy and Parents Centre (PPC) The Pregnancy and Parents Centre (PPC) is a unique charity supporting parents, carers and their children in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Established in 1985, it is a much-loved centre offering respectful and nonjudgemental support and information through its pre and postnatal sessions and drop in groups to families, regardless of financial circumstance. Clifton Hall School Nursery provides early learning and childcare for up to 40 children from 3-5 years old.
