When Andrew met Jesus, his first response was to find his brother, Simon Peter, and tell him, “We have found the Messiah.” Similarly, Philip sought out Nathanael, declaring, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law.” (See John 1:35–45.) This pattern repeats throughout the Gospels— encounters with Jesus lead to sharing Him with others.
Today’s world desperately needs Jesus. Like the early disciples, our response to knowing Him should be to share the good news. Christmas is a perfect time to tell others,
Messiah! WE HAVE FOUND THE

TITANS OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH DEPART THIS WORLD, BUT THEIR RADIO PROGRAMS REMAIN
Within a period of just over a month, two larger-than-life Christian leaders and influencers went home to be with the Lord. Both John MacArthur and James Dobson had built successful ministries, including popular radio programs, and were in their eighties when God called them home.
On July 14, John MacArthur, heard weekdays at 1:30 p.m. on Grace To You, died at the age of 86 following a lengthy period of health issues. He was Pastor-Teacher of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. The Grace To You website noted:
“From John’s earliest days at Grace Church, his sermons were recorded for the sake of homebound church members. Eventually those recordings made it onto Christian radio, and the ministry of Grace to You was born. Today the sun never sets on John MacArthur’s preaching, as the Grace to You radio broadcast airs around the globe in both English and Spanish. His full sermon library is available for free download.”
He also served as President, then as Chancellor, of The Master’s University. He also founded The Master’s Seminary. The ministry website stated:
“Faithfulness,” he said, “is its own reward.” Only heaven will fully reveal the rich harvest God has brought forth through the faithfulness of John MacArthur.
On August 21, James Dobson, heard on Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk weeknights at 8:30 p.m. on Faith Radio, passed away. His ministry described him in this way:
“A psychologist, New York Times best-selling author, a Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster, and advisor to five U.S. presidents, Dr. Dobson dedicated his life to strengthening marriages, guiding parents, and defending biblical values by championing the central role of family in America.”
Both men had a deep love for Jesus Christ. They were devoted to impacting culture with the gospel and teaching Biblical truth, applying a Scriptural perspective to current issues and calling on the Church to speak out. They will be greatly missed, but fortunately, their ministries will continue to bear fruit through the continued airing of their popular radio programs.
THE STORY FOR THE AGES
Each year, Faith Radio includes an Advent Guide in the Ministry Magazine. You can use the Guide during the Christmas season to focus on the meaning of Christmas and to facilitate your and your family’s spiritual growth. The Advent Guide incorporates a particular theme and follows a 25-day journey into God’s Word.
This year’s theme is The Story for the Ages, and reminds us that the Christmas narrative is an important component of the overall story of God’s love for humanity. Good stories are generally built on good characters, following a compelling concept, with an interesting plot. That is what makes the salvation story, OUR salvation story, so engaging.
We are concentrating on characters in the Christmas story, featuring one each day during December. We begin with the main character, JESUS, and highlight other “supporting cast” members, such as Mary, Joseph, and the wise men. There are also groups of people, called “extras” in the world of theater, who help to provide context for the narrative. Plus, during the final few days, we meet some of the early disciples of Jesus, a reminder of our call to be disciples. That leads to the Christmas Day reading - YOU! Each of us, as believers in Christ, belong in the overall story of Christmas, because Jesus died for us!
Each day, there are three components:
• Person: the character in the Christmas story,
• Passage: a Scripture reference for a particular verse or verses, and
• Principle: this is intended to provide a brief lesson or concept that we can take away from that character.
You’re encouraged to get out your Bible, read the references, and consider how God might be speaking to you through the passage. So, turn the page, and enjoy The Story For the Ages, as Faith Radio presents this year’s 25-day spiritual Advent-ure!

As we are seeing a deeper hunger all around us for knowing the truth, a Faith Radio Christmas Cross may be just the catalyst that opens a conversation about Jesus. Thanks to a generous and faithful listener, we will have our handcrafted seven-foot wooden crosses available for distribution to our listeners again this season! The young men at Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery help build these crosses each year in a drama /woodworking class. It’s special to see these students use their gifts and talents to serve the Lord through this project.
Seeing neighborhoods lit up with the real reason for the season is encouraging to our community. These Christmas crosses are a tangible way to share Christ with your neighbors, and they provide a spiritual reminder to help others grow in their faith as they see God’s light shining brightly in the darkness.
With a generous donation to Faith Radio for your cross, your gift not only supports our mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, but also allows these beautiful crosses to serve as a powerful visual reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Crosses may be picked up on Monday, November 17th at the Faith Radio Studios in Montgomery, or reserve your cross from our website Faithradio.org.
THE MEETING HOUSE REINFORCES “THE STORY FOR THE AGES”
We are part of God’s amazing story
by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House
There are so many wonderful, inspiring messages that come to us during the Christmas season. Each character in the Christmas narrative has a lesson or principle that we can apply to our lives. The story of Christmas is a love story to us from God, who sent His Son as a human, to redeem fallen humanity, to save us from our sins.
Donna Amidon of Back to the Bible was a guest on The Meeting House on Faith Radio to discuss how the coming of Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s promises. When she was on the program, she had written a book called, Tracing His Promise: Understanding the Bigger Story of Jesus and What That Means for Us.
The concept of the overarching story of Jesus woven throughout the Old and New Testaments was also discussed by Dorla Schlitt, who has written, The Adventure of the Scarlet Thread: The Promise Fulfilled. Prior to Christmas last year, she and her husband, John, lead singer of the Christian band, Petra, joined me for a conversation.
The season of Christmas can be a
tremendous time to tell the story of the love of Jesus and what He has done for us. Also, during last year’s Christmas season, Steve Cleary, the developer of iBIBLE, which offers animated Bible material, visited with me to discuss a short film available online and through the iBIBLE app, called, The Real Story of Christmas. It is intended to be a resource for evangelism, and its content is taken from iBIBLE.
Through the story of Christmas, we can learn valuable lessons that we can apply to our own lives. As we embrace and appreciate that story, we are better equipped to live it out - and Christmas provides an excellent time to live with the joy of knowing Jesus.

A memorial gift is a meaningful way to honor someone at the time of death by recognizing that person’s Christian faith and testimony. Similarly, an honorarium is a tangible way of honoring a living person’s testimony. We are thankful for individuals listed below who choose to honor friends and loved ones through a gift that extends the message of Christ through Faith Radio’s ministry.

BE THE LIGHT
by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations
During these dark days, it’s time for us to stand up and stand firm in our faith. We have recently been reminded that anytime in history when the enemy tries to extinguish the light of Christ, the flame only burns brighter! In one of His most famous sermons in Matthew 5:10, Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for doing that which is morally right, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Now is the time for us to proclaim the truth in love in the name of Jesus by standing strong and courageous. Allow your life and resources to reflect His love and light this Christmas by helping us with our ministry. At Faith Radio, we are unashamedly sharing God’s truth all day, every day, and we are here to encourage you as you stand boldly on His Word. Will you partner with us? It’s time for the body of Christ to rise up and reflect His light. Your financial gifts to this ministry will make an earthly and eternal impact as we shine the light of Jesus Christ.
