Council continues to be financially responsible, managing to balance major projects and keeping rates low. I’m pleased to say we remain in a strong financial position with the lowest residential rates in Western Sydney.
Council has budgeted $80.1 million worth of capital works programs for the 2026/2027 financial year while ensuring we continue to balance the budget.
We have many city-shaping projects underway or in the pipeline, including a new Community and Events Centre at Fairfield Showground and a district park at Brenan Park, Smithfield. The park will feature a stateof-the-art playground with a flying fox, water
play zone, and a striking 7.6-metre climbing tower with slides, along with a dog park, outdoor fitness station, and basketball half court.
Millions are also going into essential infrastructure with investment on upgrades to playgrounds, sportsfields, and open space ($14.8 million); roads and transport ($18.1 million); public building upgrades ($3.2 million); and new and upgraded footpaths ($2.3 million).
This Council has a track record of delivery and we’re committed to getting on with the job of providing the best services and facilities for the families and businesses of our thriving City.
