A wise man once said that ‘the key to success is hard work and determination’ – and luckily for us, Alvaro Bautista has these attributes in droves. The first two races of the 2019 season has seen this talented rider break records & make racing history; round 3 was no exception.

This was the big one – Aragon Spain, Bautista’s home turf. Straight off the bat, the seasoned rider displayed his

A few hours later, the riders lined up for race one in front of a crowd which contained Alvaro’s family, friends and fellow countrymen. The pressure was on and this is where those aforementioned attributes paid off. Not only did Bautista lead from start to finish he also made history by being the first Spaniard to win the Aragon Motorland circuit! Chaz has had a bumpy start to the season but thankfully he found his feet in R3. Starting in the third row, Chaz immediately battled his way in to the chasing pack. Pushing hard, the Welshman made good ground with some impressive passes which landed him a podium place of third. For the first time this newly developed team could stand proud, together. On Sunday, Alvaro added to an already extraordinary debut WSBK season by dominating both the Superpole and the 18lap race 2; both won by a wide margin. Davies also rode a spectacular race, almost coming second, if it hadn’t been for a small error on the final lap. As you can imagine, Chaz was a little disappointed missing out on second by such a narrow margin, but it was great to see him back where he belongs; with a trophy in his hands.

The SBK riders have had a frantic schedule to follow recently, with both rounds 3 & 4 being held back-to-back. To make things worse, proceedings at Assen – Holland, were disrupted by bitter cold, hailstorms and even snow showers. The organisers had no choice but to disappoint spectators by calling-off race one and re-jigging the race listings for Sunday. This decision meant that riders would have to perform two races just a couple of hours apart, with race one at 11am followed by race two at 2pm; leaving no time for the usual Superpole, which was cancelled altogether. None of which seemed to bother Alvaro Bautista, as he effortlessly peeled around the track during race one, notching up yet another win. Race two was to yield more of a challenge, as all riders acclimatised to the conditions and the competition heated up. Bautista jostled for the top spot amongst the leading pack which also included teammate Chaz Davies. At the halfway point, having bided his time, the Spaniard eventually found a gap to slip by the competition, stealing yet another victory. Chaz started from seventh in race one and despite his best efforts it was a position he struggled to better by the finish; a difficult race that started with a minor contact on the first turn. Race two looked very promising as Chaz got off to a great start passing four other riders before slotting behind Bautista. It was a shame to see Chaz lose some ground in the second half of the race which resulted in a finishing place of 5th.
After another spectacular round for Alvaro, his name will be listed for making and equalling several WSBK records, including: Fastest lap of 1.34.564 - TT Circuit Assen, Record for most consecutive wins at the start of a season, Equalling Jonathan Rea’s record of 11 victories in a row.

Fiat makes some great city cars and with the 500 being the most compact, it needed an equally compact diesel unit to fit its tiny engine bay; the 1.3 D that Fiat had already developed was the obvious candidate.
The other important powerplant fitted to this ‘mini’ Fiat, is the 1.2 naturally aspirated petrol. At 69 BHP it’s not for the boy-racer in you but is perfectly adequate for what the 500 does best, town and city driving.
The first generation of MultiJet engine was produced in huge quantities, fitted in dozens of vehicles, it was a class leader, even winning the International Engine of the Year.
We love the feel of the retro 500, offering something a bit different from the mainstream. And we’re not the only ones, as sales of this much-loved supermini have soared across Europe.
In 2009, Fiat Powertrain reworked the first generation with a new injection system that was capable of delivering 8 injections per combustion cycle at a pressure of 2000 bar (29000 PSI). These upgrades boosted power, made it more efficient than ever, complying with Euro V emissions standard; which resulted in a further increase in 500 sales.

Q. Does FAI offer a heavy-duty Steering & suspension range to help compensate for battery weight in Electric/Hybrid vehicles? A: FAI maintain high standards of material grades and perform rigorous testing to ensure a quality product that offers a like-for-like safety equivalent repair. Vehicles that were designed from the off-set to be pure electric, mostly feature a unique set of suspension components, which, if included in the FAI range, will match the original. Electric versions of existing models, such as the VW E Golf, are fitted with the same parts as their fuel burning equivalents at point of manufacture. Steering & Suspension components are designed with safety in mind, so a variety of day-to-day driving conditions are well catered for, whether fully ladened – bumbling down B roads or pottering along the motorway. »»Engine of the Month Fiat 2.3 MultiJet The Ducato has been a common sight on the roads of Europe since the 1980s. Born from a collaboration between Fiat and PSA, which still lives on today with the Boxer and Relay (Jumper for Europe). The 2.3 D MultiJet has powered the majority of Ducatos’ and a large portion of the Iveco Dailys, -yet another sister brand of this popular workhorse. The four-pot unit is punchy enough when fully laden; offered to customers in either 110, 130 or 150ps states of tune. An obvious choice for most buyers when the only other option is the range-topping 3.0 D with 180ps, which for most needs is a bit too much engine.
