»»FAI Sponsor Aruba.it 2019 For the Second Year Running
FAI has a long history steeped in motorsport which still lives on through the teams and individuals we sponsor. Team Aruba.it is a leading figure in the WSBK championship and FAI have accepted the invitation to continue corporate sponsorship for the 2019 season. The FAI name will take pride-of-place for the second year running on the teams Ducati bikes, livery and signage.
Meet the Riders
Long standing member, 31-year-old Welshman, Chaz Davies, is heading in to his 6th season with Aruba.it; having been twice runner up, we’re sure he’ll be vying for 1st in the coming championship. Last year we saw Chaz smash circuit records and lay down the ‘gauntlet’ for all of those on his tail. His ability to climb the rankings despite not being fully recovered from injury is testament to his determination and raw talent. Will 2019 be his year? We certainly hope so!

The new year brings with it an overhaul in both machinery and the team line-up. We bid a fond farewell to Marco Melandri and welcome another of Moto GP’s rider’s in the form of Alvaro Bautista. The Spanish rider has been competing for over 16 years; starting off within the 125cc series in 2003 which eventually led to his defining moment of winning the 250cc Grand Prix in 2009. Since then, he’s gathered considerable experience, including that of the tracks used by both Moto GP and WSBK. We’d like to give him a warm welcome and will now be looking forward to race one, Phillip Island – Australia.
New Bikey, We Likey Both Chaz and Alvaro will have the honour of competing on the brand new Panigale V4 R; a road legal race bike that has been tweaked in almost every conceivable way compared to the bike it replaces. It features a 998cc V4 engine that has been tuned to put out 221 hp at 15.250rpm. The stiffer, more aerodynamic machine was designed with the track in mind giving the team the right tools for the job.
FAI know winners when we see them and over the past two seasons the well-oiled Aruba.it team have graced us with some of the best racing in recent history. We’re set for another exciting year of competition both on and off the track. Come join FAI, the winning team. Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 09-16 Buyers of the W210 Mercedes E-class, whether purchasing new or used, expected certain attributes for their money; namely- quality, comfort and of course performance. The same is true today, however, a large petrol engine hauling along a leather-clad armchair while achieving mpg figures in the 20s just doesn’t cut-the-mustard anymore. The last three generations of E-class were separated by 7 years, with the last of the W210’s rolling off forecourts in 02/03 and the W212 launching in 2009 but what a difference a few years make. All versions of the E-class tick the aforementioned attributes but the W212 brought with it a level of technology that helped keep this solid piece of German engineering at the top of the executive market. The name-of-the-game now is Efficiency and with some fantastic diesel engines tuned to compete with the likes of BMW & Audi, Mercedes almost stamped out sales of the petrol E-class; whether they meant to or not.
The gold star for the most efficient version goes to the E300 Hybrid, featuring the good-old 2.1 diesel coupled with a 20kw electric motor that combined pumped out 204 HP yet giving a jaw-dropping 67 MPG. Mercedes were the first to market with such a combo and as a result, the technology didn’t come cheap; with a price tag of around 40k you’d have needed to be doing an annual mileage of around 85,000 to make it worthwhile. Whilst we’re poking fun by suggesting you’d need to cover 85,000 miles a year this does actually have some truth to it. The E-class sits firmly in the large executive market, meaning that high mileage and the resulting maintenance go hand-in-hand. Our product experts answer your questions. Q. What’s the difference between TCK227 and 227L? A: These kits cater for the 1.8 & 2.1 CDi units fitted to popular models like the
A-Class, C-Class and Sprinter from 2006. The engines that the TCK227 & TCK227L fit are broken by date range, producing an early and late version depending on application; the TCK227L being the latter. Year ranges can sometimes be too vague without additional data. This is especially true in the instance of the A-Class where vehicles registered around 2012 may require either kit. What’s the solution?...There are a few minor, yet important differences between the kits that can be easily checked by a visual inspection. Q. Does FAI offer a heavy-duty Steering & suspension range to help compensate for battery weight in Electric/Hybrid vehicles? A: FAI maintain high standards of material grades and perform rigorous testing to ensure a quality product that offers a like-for-like safety equivalent repair. Vehicles that were designed from the off-set to be pure electric, mostly feature a unique set of suspension components, which, if included in the FAI range, will match the original. Electric versions of existing models, such as the VW E Golf, are fitted with the same parts as their fuel burning equivalents at point of manufacture. Steering & Suspension components are designed with safety in mind, so a variety of day-to-day driving conditions are well catered for, whether fully ladened – bumbling down B roads or pottering along the motorway. It’s for this reason that the extra few dozen kilos that the electric system adds are easily distributed throughout the standard set-up. In short, FAI offers the same part that’s coming off the vehicle, despite which drivetrain the vehicle is fitted with.

Admittedly this covers rare beasts like the 8 Series and i8 but seriously, how can you cover parts for all these variants.
