Vehicle of the Month Toyota C-HR 2016>
The Toyota C-HR, a coupe-hatch-crossover thingy, is another in a long line of quirky models, further blurring the lines between what was once easy to define body styles. The Toyota is pitched against its closest rivals such as the Mini Countryman and Audi Q2. Styling is subjective, yet the C-HR has sharp lines from almost every angle and an interesting light arrangements so whether it bowls you over or not, at least it can never be accused of being boring – something you can’t say of many previous offerings by Toyota. Like most Toyota’s, the C-HR does most things well enough for most people, with the added benefit of reliability. This gives confidence to a plethora of buyers in this market to buy-buy-buy. With sales buoyant from the off, the C-HR is becoming an increasingly common sight on the roads. We’ve got a great selection of parts for the C-HR, despite a relatively recent launch, with more in the manufacturing process.

FAI Timing Chain Covers With the growth in timing chain use to synchronise IC engines. Demand for timing covers has increased significantly. There are two main reasons for replacement, firstly damage on removal, particularly for steel covers as these are usually sealed using RTV sealant. Which acts like an adhesive and as a consequence leverage on the timing cover during removal causes irreparable damage. Secondly, impact damage during timing chain failure process.

Engine of the Month Ford 2.0i AODA, AODB, AODE, SYDA This generation of the 2.0i Ford engine has been confined to the history books, squeezed out by peppy Turbo’s and torquey diesels before them, yet it was fitted to two very important models. The Focus and the C-Max sold so well between 2004 – 2012, these generations of family favourites are still prevalent throughout Europe. If you were wanting a bit of pulling power in petrol guise, then the 2.0i was the only option. On the plus side, it sounded a darn sight better than the diesels and putting out up to 140 HP, it was quick enough. That BHP of figure of 140 was a comparatively similar amount to the 2.0 TDCi but the petrol couldn’t match the punchiness or frugality of the oil burner. There were plenty petrol variants sold, just with sales hampered by the rise of diesel. We’ve seen increased sales on our engine components over the last couple of years as most of the power-plants have clocked high mileage.
