»Vehicle » of the Month Ford Mondeo 2008 - 2015 The 4th generation Mondeo was never built to set the world on fire in terms of design, however, the American brand continued its trend of a roomy family car, with the added benefit of being fun to drive. The one major difference between the outgoing version and the Mk4 was the quality of the materials used in the cabin, giving a feeling of, dare we say it – Germanic build quality. Unfortunately, the price reflected this overhaul and came in uncomfortably close to the cost of a similarly spec’d 3 Series. The Mondeo did however, sell extremely well as a used vehicle with dealers flooding the forecourts with almost new vehicles throughout the network; a thinking-man’s purchase, it ticked boxes that vehicles like the Insignia didn’t. We don’t have to tell you about the sheer number of Mondeos on the road so without further ado FAI stock… Over 40 products!

This popular powerplant was redeveloped in 2005 to include a vastly improved common rail fuelling system; resulting in improvements in emissions, fuel consumption and power outputs. The applications the YD25 is applied to are of course heavy vehicles, expected to haul yet more load in their working life; an area where this torquey lump excels. In fact, the higher output 190HP produced 450 NM of torque; to put this into perspective that’s equal to an Audi RS3! The poor-old YD25DDTi has a hard life in general and therefore needs a good dose of TLC; that’s where FAI have the right tools for the job. Whether you’re looking at the 2006-10 or 2010- on, we’ve got cylinder heads, cams & chain kits to name just a few.
