’We identify opportunities that lead to tangible progress’.
At Air Europa, placing the customer at the heart of everything we do is not just a statement, but a commitment that guides every step we take. Air Europa ON is today the clearest expression of this approach to our service: a living project that is constantly evolving and is shaped by actively listening to those who know our day-to-day operations best – our customers and our own teams.
Based on their feedback and the continuing analysis of every interaction, we identify opportunities that lead to tangible progress throughout the entire travel experience. Air Europa ON thus drives sustained operational development, refining every detail and adapting to the real expectations of our passengers. This transformation is already evident at every stage of the journey. From the in-flight experience – with more carefully curated dining options and a higher level of comfort in both Business and Economy Class – to the streamlining of processes that enable a more responsive, personal and tailored service. All of this is supported by one of the most modern and efficient fleets in the sector, helping to deliver a more comfortable flight experience.
In the same vein, the introduction of new digital channels, such as the WhatsApp service, makes managing your journey even easier. Checking information, booking tickets, checking in or storing your travel documents on a mobile device are now simple and intuitive processes, designed to support passengers at every stage of their journey.
Air Europa ON is, in short, an ongoing project that continues to progress through listening, analysis and adaptability. Because every opinion counts and every detail matters in our shared goal: continuing to elevate our passengers’ experience.
Enjoy your flight.

The most elaborate costume in the world

ENG The pollera dress, typical of Panamanian culture, is considered one of the most elaborate traditional garments in the world. Handcrafted over months, sometimes years, it combines embroidery, lace, appliqués, and a structure that balances elegance and theatricality. Across the country, women wear a variety of polleras, ranging from the more understated “gala” styles to richly decorated versions. The ensemble is completed with gold jewelry, tembleques (headpieces), and hairstyles that follow strict traditional codes. Each pollera tells a story: of heritage, pride, and community. Their big day is celebrated on July 22, the National Pollera Festival, in the town of Las Tablas (Los Santos). A celebration featuring contests that highlight this remarkable craftsmanship.

Designated Cultural Heritage of the Nation, the festival blends Catholic fervour with pre-Hispanic roots. From July 15 to 19, the cobblestone streets, balconies, and squares of this town fill with music, masked dancers, and processions that blend Andean tradition and colonial heritage. One of the most eagerly anticipated events is the Saqra dance, in which performers dressed in multicolored costumes and masks with devilish or grotesque animal features perform acrobatics and playful antics from house to house. And to cap off the festivities: the procession of the “Mamacha Carmen,” parades, and serenades.

// ENG “Colour, energy, and movement, with a unique identity.” This is the design that this creator has produced for the fl oat of Air Europa, the offi cial airline of the upcoming edition of MADO, Madrid’s major LGBTIQ+ Pride festival.
Carmen Otto

ENG Sewing was a regular part of designer Daniel Chong’s (Guayaquil, Ecuador) home life, and what began as a hobby ceased to be one when “people outside my immediate circle started buying and asking for my designs.” Today, he is one of the fashion designers with the strongest sense of identity.
You’ve made a success of your rucksacks and are now branching out into streetwear with The Working Class collection, which has been backed by Air Europa as a sponsor. Yes, it’s a natural evolution. The backpacks came from functionality and daily use, and the clothing follows that same logic—that what you wear works in your day-to-day life and isn’t just aesthetic.
What is the philosophy behind this collection?
The collection focuses on the everyday, on what we wear without thinking too much about it. The idea is to value simplicity and practicality, but without sacrificing design.
Why do we need to add colour to life?
Because our surroundings are often neutral enough already. Colour is a direct form of expression. It can change how you feel or how you face the day, and I think that’s important in something as everyday as getting dressed.
Do we give fashion the importance it deserves?
It’s often approached superficially, and the essentials are forgotten. Clothes are with you all day; they have to be comfortable, fit you well, and make your life easier. If they don’t meet that purpose, they lose their meaning, no matter how aesthetically pleasing they may be.

“On a fl ight, you should prioritize comfortable clothing”
How many items should we buy to claim that our wardrobe is sustainable?
I don’t think there’s a specific number. The key is to shop with intention: less, but better. Pieces you’ll wear, that feel comfortable, and that you can keep over time. Sustainability also comes down to actual use.
You decide: follow trends or go for timelessness?
Timelessness. I’m interested in designing things that can accompany you for years. When something is comfortable, functional, and represents you, it doesn’t need to go out of style, especially when you offer quality in both materials and craftsmanship. I love seeing my customers wearing our pieces that are already several seasons old and still feeling proud in them because they look perfect.
You’re in charge of designing the Air Europa float for MADO. Tell us about this very special project. Ten years ago, I arrived in Madrid with a suitcase and lots of dreams. My first Pride was very special, and I remember saying, “One day you’ll climb onto a float and experience it from up there.” Dreams do come true.
What’s your advice on what to wear when flying? Prioritise comfort. Wear clothes that let you move easily and that you can layer. Travelling already involves long hours and changes, so your clothes should go with you and not be one more thing to worry about. And if they’re well-designed, even better. I always dress very comfortably.
Anselm Kiefer in Valencia

Among this year’s must-see attractions in Valencia is the Anselm Kiefer exhibition at the Hortensia Herrero Art Centre. Until the end of October, this unique venue— housed in a former 17th-century palace right in the heart of the historic centre— showcases the work of the German artist, regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary art.
The exhibition brings together works created using materials such as lead, ash, earth and dried flowers, in a journey where history, mythology and landscape take centre stage. Among them stands out Danaë, a monumental piece over thirteen metres wide, on display for the first time in Europe.
The visit is rounded off by the centre’s permanent collection and the archaeological remains uncovered during the building’s restoration, allowing visitors to explore different periods of Valencia’s history. A unique experience that brings together art, architecture and history in a single space.

Cultura, producto local y experiencias

Gran Canaria transforms when you leave the obvious behind and head inland. The pace slows, the landscape opens up, and ancient footpaths, terraced fields and villages where time seems to stand still come into view. It’s an island to explore slowly, to breathe deeply and to reconnect with nature.
In the mid-altitude region, Hotel Rural Las Calas (Vega de San Mateo) is nestled amongst orchards, gardens and traditional architecture reinterpreted with a contemporary touch. In the north, La Hacienda del Buen Suceso (Arucas) retains the character of a historic estate surrounded by banana plantations. To the west, La Aldea Suites (La Aldea de San Nicolás) opens out between the mountains and the coast, offering a serene and light-filled retreat.
The experience continues at Casa Rural Oronado (Ingenio), where stone and wood come together beside the Guayadeque ravine. In Moya, Casa Rural El Drago and Casa Rural Naturacanaria are set among the orchards, paths and vegetation of the Doramas Rural Park, inviting you true disconnection. Also in the mid-altitude region, Casa Rural Tres Almendros (Vega de San Mateo) overlooks the Guiniguada, in a setting of silence and open countryside.
In Tejeda, Casa Rural Las Cáscaras and Casa Rural Serafín look out towards the island’s great landmarks, Roque Nublo and Bentayga, in a setting that invites contemplation. In Agaete, Casa Rural Luna preserves the essence of a century-old house connected to the local rhythm. Higher up, on the peaks of Artenara, Casa Cueva Las Margaritas offers the chance of living in the rock, in harmony with the surroundings. To the south-east, Casa Rural La Longuera de Tirajana (Santa Lucía) is surrounded by ravines and orchards, bringing visitors closer to rural life. And in Valleseco, Casa Rural El Pajar de la Casa de la Virgen is tucked away in the Barranco de la Virgen, immersed in nature.
The island can also be discovered through its history. The Museo de La Fortaleza (Santa Lucía de Tirajana) offers a glimpse into the aboriginal past in a setting rich in memory.
The region can be savoured at Bodega Las Tirajanas, where the wine reflects the nuances of its microclimates, and at Mundo del Plátano (Arucas), which brings together cultivation, tradition and local culture. In the south, Finca Las Orillas & Sana Dharma offers a wellness experience in harmony with nature, whilst in Vegueta, Sabor a Canarias connects produce and crafts that embody the island’s identity.
For those seeking a more active dimension, Climbo offers guided tours along trails, ravines and historic paths, combining scenery, interpretation and adventure.

Magical

You can’t visit it, but you can admire it from the cliffs at Torre des Savinar or Cala d’Hort.
// ENG A spiritual beacon, this uninhabited islet radiates its aura to those who gaze upon it from Ibiza’s shores or from the sea, providing the backdrop for some truly epic sunsets. Its legends are still very much alive.

Top: Es Vedrà seen from the 18thcentury Torre des Savinar. Bottom: an image of the goddess Tanit.
ENG There is a viewpoint in Ibiza that sparks a selfie craze. An uninhabited enclave that has become an icon of mystical allure and attracts those who choose the island as a destination for a boho, spiritual lifestyle: the islet of Es Vedrá. A cult of silence in clubbing territory, unspoilt, untouched nature, and an evocative repertoire of myths and legends –including sightings of lights, alleged geomagnetic forces and ancient tales of mermaids – all shape the mystique surrounding this colossal rock. It is also the place where mythology places the birth of Tanit, goddess of the moon, love, fertility, dance and creativity, and protector of Ibiza.
For the writer and musician Carlos Garrido Torres, author of Eivissa Mágica, Es Vedrá is “the sacred heart of Ibiza. A perfect symbol of transcendence”, as he describes in his account The Seven Wonders of Ibiza.

The islet rises 382 metres above the sea off the south-western coast of Ibiza, where its rugged silhouette – a backdrop for countless sun salutations – has been photographed millions of times just as the sun dips below the horizon and the atmosphere is tinged with golden, violet and pink hues, creating a snapshot that is hard to forget.
Landing on the islet is forbidden, but it can be viewed from the cliff tops at Torre des Savinar or Cala d’Hort, on Ibiza, or from the sea, on organised boat trips.
The site boasts a rich ecological uniqueness to match its aura of mysticism. The Es Vedrá chamomile, the Balearic shearwater (a bird known locally as the ‘virot’) and the turquoise-coloured Ibiza wall lizard, are species endemic to the island, which benefits from the highest levels of environmental protection. Beneath the surrounding waters, fields of red gorgonian – a fascinating species of soft coral – sway with the underwater currents. Magnetic, wild, majestic… An inspiring universe of life orbits Es Vedrá.

The art of living in Ibiza

Recognised as Ibiza’s only Art Hotel, the establishment houses over 400 works of art distributed across suites, gardens and communal spaces. Europa para Flamencos desde el alma
The very essence of fl amenco
The tablaos, or Flamenco venues of Flamencos desde el alma bring forgotten dances and songs back to life, reviving the essence of the great masters who form the very roots of flamenco. Their approach distances itself from the stereotypical versions often seen outside Spain, as well as from the simplistic association of flamenco with sevillanas, rumbas or folkloric elements unrelated to its true essence.
Inspired by 19th-century flamenco, when this art form relied solely on singing, guitar, clapping and dance, Flamenco desde el alma dispenses with technological and stage resources they consider unnecessary. Th ey do not use microphones, additional percussion, instruments foreign to the tradition, or visual effects that might detract from the authenticity of the performance.
Their art is rooted in soul, heart and the visceral dedication of the artists, giving centre stage to improvisation, emotion and duende. Visitors will also find an intimate and accessible form of flamenco, without financial barriers, so that anyone can enjoy a quality show at an affordable price.
In short, Flamenco from the Soul.

Geneva, Mediterranean-style
// Carouge, just 15 minutes from Geneva, offers a departure from the traditional Swiss landscape: hidden courtyards, Italian flair, relaxation and the good life.
Ana Franco
Allí huele a Italia, a mar Mediterráneo.
ENG Just cross the River Arve, a tributary of the mighty Rhône, and you move from from Geneva to Carouge, the bohemian little sister of Switzerland’s second most populous city. The two are about a 15-minute tram ride apart. But while Geneva feels more austere and institutional, Carouge is characterised by pastel-coloured façades and hidden courtyards. It smells of Italy, of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a Swiss anomaly.
Above, a giant animated puppet from a street theatre parades through Carouge. Below, part of a mural in a Protestant church.

You have to delve into its history to truly understand it: in the 18th century, Geneva ceded its rights over these lands to the Kingdom of Sardinia, which spurred the transformation of Carouge into a Sardinian town designed to rival its prosperous neighbour, until it was incorporated into the canton of Geneva in 1816. Today, the people of Geneva find in Carouge the same charm that seduced their ancestors, who would escape there for a few hours from the rigidity of Calvinism. For a few weeks each year, particularly in spring and summer, Carouge opens the doors of its beautifully decorated private homes and their secret, cool, flower-filled gardens. “It’s the place to go when the good weather arrives. When the sun comes out, the bistro terraces fill up in no time. Though it doesn’t lose its appeal even in winter,” says Asta Ponzo, who lived there for many years. This entrepreneur recommends getting lost in its historic centre, with its neoclassical buildings featuring shutters, the setting for the tranquil life of workshops and boutiques. “For centuries, old Carouge has been home to talented

artisans: glassmakers, painters, weavers, carpenters, antique dealers… Shops and galleries bear witness to that glorious past,” says Ponzo.
Rue Saint-Joseph is the commercial hub where designer products are sold, such as Philippe Pascoët’s chocolates and teas from Betjeman and Barton and Tea Repertoire. Other streets that invite a spot of shopping include Rue Ancienne, with its curve accentuated by tram tracks, and Place du Marché. Art-house film lovers will find their paradise at Cinéma Bio, a former cinema that was on the verge of being demolished, but which the locals managed to save through a public referendum.
“Old Carouge offers a quieter alternative to the restaurants in Geneva city centre. It brings together locandas (simple lodgings) that are affordable and very cosy, with a touch of la dolce vita,” says Asta Ponzo. Among her recommendations are the Italian-style Ajò Ajò and the Café des Négociants, serving classics such as the entrecôte carougeoise and sautéed frogs’ legs; Mediterranean soul, but flavours from the heart of Switzerland.

“A good plastic surgeon is one who achieves a natural result”
Dr Juan Peñas, with 47 years of experience, is renowned for his results in rhinoplasty and facelifts.
What is your speciality?
I perform all types of cosmetic surgery, but I particularly enjoy working on the nose and face. Rhinoplasty is a magical procedure, because it allows you to transform an ordinary person into a very attractive one without anyone noticing. And a facelift is the most difficult procedure, but I have 47 years of experience and have treated 30,000 patients. What matters most is that the results look natural and aren’t too drastic. A good surgeon is one who achieves a natural result with the confidence that comes from experience. I don’t want to change the patient, but rather tweak a few small details so that they are still fully recognisable.
What is the age and gender are your patients?
Every procedure has its own age group. Nose jobs are usually performed between the ages of 16 and 50, and facelifts between 50 and 75. Men are gradually coming in, mainly for bags under the eyes, fat around the waist, facelifts and rhinoplasty.
Do celebrities have a pull effect?
Many have come here, because they know I aim for a natural result, and they attract more clients because they instil confidence; they know they’ll be in good hands.

Rinoplastia, antes y después. Rhinoplasty: before and after.

Your trip, now in a chat

Air Europa launches its new WhatsApp channel to manage tickets, check bookings and receive real-time assistance quickly and easily
In an increasingly connected world, immediacy and a personal touch make all the difference to the travel experience. For this reason, Air Europa is going one step further by introducing WhatsApp as a new customer service channel – a quick and direct way that simplifies the management of any aspect of your journey.
Passengers can now interact with the airline easily and naturally via the number 911 401 501, available in both Spanish and English. The system is as intuitive as starting a conversation with any contact: simply open the chat to access an environment that combines smart automation with personalised support.
Through this channel, travellers can resolve queries, check relevant information and navigate different options using themed menus. They can also make requests via freetext or contact an advisor when more specific assistance is needed.
One of the major advantages of this service is the ability to manage the journey from start to finish without leaving the conversation. Customers can search for flights, complete ticket purchases and receive confirmation directly within the chat. In addition, travel documents can be downloaded to mobile devices or integrated into digital wallet apps, eliminating the need for printouts and making the experience more convenient and sustainable.
The WhatsApp channel also allows passengers with bookings to access all their travel information in real time, as well as offering the option to check in online, complete outstanding payments or add additional services.

Air Europa ON: excellence keeps moving forward
Air Europa continues to move forward in the development of Air Europa ON, its continuous improvement programme aimed at enhancing the customer experience at every stage of the journey. The initiative remains focused on introducing new measures that enhance the quality of service, both on the ground and on board, consolidating a model centred on passengers’ needs.
In this context, the airline has implemented significant new features in the cabin. In Business Class, passengers now have access to new noise-cancelling headphones, designed to optimise comfort and promote rest during the flight, as well as an updated drinks menu that enriches the in-flight offering. Meanwhile, in Economy — particularly on long-haul flights — the in-flight meal service has been enhanced, raising both the quality and overall experience of the service provided.
These initiatives form part of a strategy structured around three main pillars. Firstly, ‘On-Board’, which focuses on the continuous optimisation of in-cabin services across all flight types; ‘On-Ground’, which includes initiatives at airports, with a particular focus on Madrid-Barajas as a strategic hub; and thirdly, ‘On-Airplane’, aimed at maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency and reliability across one of the sector’s most modern fleets.
Air Europa ON will continue to roll out new and imminent initiatives designed to strengthen every point of contact with the customer, as part of the airline’s commitment to excellence.

Healthcare at thousands of feet in the air

Air Europa introduces advanced solutions that provide access to specialist medical support in real time throughout the flight, and prepares to introduce electrocardiograms on long-haul routes
Air Europa has taken a further step by introducing a comprehensive medical assistance system that guarantees access to healthcare professionals during all phases of the flight. The airline has strengthened its response capacity through its partnership with MedAire, a leading provider of medical services for aviation. All its operations are equipped with tools that connect crews with specialised doctors, who are able to assess each situation in real time and support decision-making at cruising altitude.
This support model begins even before boarding. Ground staff have access to digital solutions that enable them to assess whether a passenger is fit to fly, helping to anticipate potential incidents. Once in the cabin, the crew are supported by systems that guide them through step-by-step protocols and facilitate direct communication with medical experts.
Medical assistance thus becomes a continuous process, supported by crews trained in first aid and equipped with defibrillators, medical kits and rapid-response equipment, enabling swift action in complex situations.
Over the coming months, Air Europa will introduce lightweight, clinical-grade devices across its long-haul fleet capable of performing electrocardiograms on board. These will allow cardiac data to be recorded and transmitted in real time to doctors on the ground.

SkyTeam takes a stand against human trafficking

Human trafficking is a devastating and often invisible crime that violates human rights and affects millions of people worldwide. Many victims are transported by air during the recruitment and exploitation processes.
As a global airline alliance, SkyTeam recognises both its responsibility and the opportunity to take action. On 1 June 2025, SkyTeam and its member airlines signed a Declaration Against Human Trafficking, becoming the first airline alliance to launch a coordinated initiative to tackle this issue.
Our programme, which extends across the entire alliance, focuses on raising awareness of this issue, training teams, sharing best practices and building partnerships. Member airlines have for years been taking significant action to combat human trafficking, driving initiatives such as specialised training for frontline staff and collaboration with government authorities. These efforts are now brought together under SkyTeam’s unified initiative, extending approaches that have proven effective across the entire alliance.
Passengers also play a crucial role. Thanks to alerts from travellers, many cases of human trafficking have been identified. If you notice anything suspicious, please inform airline staff. Together, we are helping to shed light on a crime that, all too often, remains in the shadows.

1937. A PALACE OF BOOKS IN QUITO
// In the very heart of Quito, the former National Library was housed in the Coliseum Palace in 1922, on what is now Plaza de San Blas. Although this neoclassical building has disappeared, Ecuadorian culture lives on in its popular bookstores.
