Summer is when fashion blends airy fabrics, sun-kissed tones, relaxed silhouettes and laid-back elegance, creating a chic, carefree coastal style. It’s time to embrace la dolce vita.

Splashing in the water is one of the best parts of the hot season. Pick a printed swimsuit like this La DoubleJ piece and enjoy the benefits of salt water in style.

Flip-flops are the mandatory footwear. The rubber ones, which protect your feet from the scorching sand and pavement, are also waterproof, making them the perfect choice. These are from Tory Burch

To elevate your beach look, choose a chic cover-up that can also work as a nice element added to your summer outfits. This FARM Rio printed piece can be beautifully paired over flowy dresses and evening looks.
Complement your outfit with a roomy bag (to keep sunscreen, towel, water bottle and book) and a wide-brimmed straw hat. Loro Piana proposes a total matchymatchy look for stylish beach girls.

After a day under the sun, there’s nothing better than a stroll and a nice dinner in an air-conditioned restaurant. For that, carrying a lightweight jacket is a good idea. We love this Rabanne look for a laid-back night out at the coast.

Summer dresses are the perfect pick for the hot season, practical and offering effortless elegance, they come in fluid silhouettes and breathable fabrics. Maxi or midi, they are painted in solid hues and floral prints for a fresh, modern appeal. Ladylike much?

Natural materials take centre stage with raffia, straw and woven textures elevating accessories. From oversized totes to statement hats and sandals, these earthy elements bring artisanal appeal and a relaxed sophistication to warm-weather dressing.

Retro sport fashion merges vintage athletic influences with breathable luxury fabrics, adding a laid-back touch to the looks. Windbreaker jackets and old-fashioned trainers create a sophisticated aesthetic that matches the season’s vibes.

Adopt the essence of summer with sandals featuring thin, sleek, minimalist designs that create an almost barefoot effect. Delicate construction and understated elegance result in footwear that celebrates freedom, lightness and a subtle presence in every step.

With stronger sunrays, sunglasses are not only a fashionable item but also an essential accessory for eye protection. This season, they embrace sculptural silhouettes, refined lenses and futuristic minimalism. Choose between classic metal frames and bold acrylic.

Red arrives with unapologetic intensity, from vivid cherry to softened scarlet hues. It radiates confidence, passion and modern glamour across dresses and accessories. Bold yet refined, the colour becomes the ultimate statement, transforming summer wardrobes into striking expressions of luxury and allure.

This month brings a series of new luxury and fashion launches, spanning bespoke fragrance, contemporary jewellery, reimagined heritage motifs, vibrant summer capsules and experimental collaborations that blend craftsmanship, culture and modern design.

Amouage and Mandarin Oriental partnered to create Whispers Of The Fan, a bespoke fragrance collection inspired by their shared values of heritage, innovation and exceptional hospitality. To develop the scent, Amouage Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon and perfumer Suzy Le Helley travelled to Hong Kong and Bangkok, the historic homes of the Mandarin Oriental brand. Drawing inspiration from the group’s iconic 11-bladed fan emblem, they selected 11 notes representing the journey’s most memorable impressions, including lemongrass, mandarin, coconut, ginger, lotus, jasmine, rice, tea, bamboo, incense and silk. Together, these notes create a subtle yet lasting fragrance that reflects attentive, understated luxury. The scent features across six premium amenities: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash, lotion and soap. Made from 97% natural and organic ingredients, the vegan, cruelty-free collection is presented in sustainable refillable packaging designed to reduce plastic waste and environmental impact.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its flagship at 6 Place Vendôme, Repossi introduces exclusive new creations that reinterpret its signature jewellery codes through a contemporary, architectural lens. The highlight is the Serti sur Vide Vendôme Edition brooch, inspired by the column of Place Vendôme and crafted in white gold with pavé diamonds, crowned by a floating pear-shaped diamond that reflects the collection’s iconic empty setting aesthetic. Alongside it, the maison expands the Serti sur Vide line with four new pink gold pieces, including asymmetrical earrings, a Baby ring and a pendant, all set with pear-shaped diamonds. These warmer-toned designs reinterpret the original white gold creations while maintaining the collection’s minimalist, floating-diamond signature. Founded in 1957 and shaped across generations, Repossi continues to merge heritage, modern art and architectural design into bold, avant-garde jewellery from its historic home in Place Vendôme.

Louis Vuitton launched the Monogram Emblème to mark 130 years of its Monogram motif. The design reinterprets the iconic pattern as a tactile jacquard canvas inspired by early cotton trunk coverings. It uses GOTS-certified cotton and linen to produce a durable, waterrepellent fabric with a denser, embroidery-like pattern. The canvas features rich colours from the house palette, achieved with five threads for depth. New shades include Peuplier, inspired by trunk wood, and Rose Ruban, referencing historic ribbon details. Later releases in September 2026 will include Monogram Bleu from the 1930s archives and Vert Jura, inspired by Louis Vuitton’s native landscape. The fabric will appear across key bags such as Alma, Neverfull, Speedy, Noé, Keepall and Side Trunk, as well as leather goods, shoes and accessories, reinforcing the brand’s heritage as a travel and luggage maker through innovative, heritage-driven textile design and craftsmanship.

FARM Rio’s Summer 2026 collection places football culture at the heart of the season with the launch of Together We Play, a capsule celebrating the spirit of match days and Brazilian pride. Designed for fans around the world, the collection features T-shirts, caps, totes, key holders and tropical-print pieces in Brazil’s iconic yellow and green colours, blending sport, community and fashion. The football-inspired offering sits alongside the second chapter of the AS CARIOCAS campaign, which continues to celebrate Rio de Janeiro’s vibrant identity through bold prints, artisanal craftsmanship and effortless summer dressing. Highlights include nature-inspired motifs, playful bubble-hem silhouettes, 3D embellished dresses featuring seaside elements and versatile matching sets. The collection also introduces travel-ready essentials through the To-Go capsule, including swimwear, cover-ups, accessories and vacation-focussed pieces designed to capture the carefree energy of a Brazilian summer.

MANGO and Eckhaus Latta (a New York and Los Angeles-based fashion label designed by Zoe Latta and Mike Eckhaus) collaborate on a summer capsule under the MANGO COLLECTIVE platform, blending conceptual design with functional, urban wearability. Eckhaus Latta, known for experimental materials, inclusive design and real-world clothing, brings its signature approach to a collection focussed on lightweight textures, bold prints, layering and unconventional finishes. The range features denim with foil effects, overdye treatments, sheer fabrics, knitwear colour mixes and aquatic-inspired prints, alongside minimalist 1990s cuts and asymmetrical silhouettes. Accessories complement the organic forms, emphasising versatility for everyday summer dressing. The collection explores personal expression through subtle, subversive styling choices that challenge conventional fashion rules while remaining practical. It reflects MANGO’s commitment to collaborating with emerging design voices through MANGO COLLECTIVE, which highlights niche creativity and shared aesthetic values.

Boucheron reimagines its Serpent Bohème collection in gold and onyx –a duality that plays with light and shadow.

For nearly six decades, Boucheron’s Serpent Bohème collection has embodied the maison’s unmistakable blend of Parisian refinement and fearless femininity. Introduced in 1968 and beloved for its sculptural drop motifs and intricate goldsmithing, the line has long stood as one of the jeweller’s most enduring signatures. In 2026, Serpent Bohème enters a striking new chapter – one defined by contrast, intensity and the hypnotic beauty of shadow meeting light.
With the unveiling of 12 new creations in yellow gold, diamond and onyx, Boucheron transforms its iconic collection through the poetic lens of an eclipse. The result is a bold and graphic interpretation that feels both timeless and unapologetically modern.
There are three ultra-luminous creations in which polished gold takes the place of the stone traditionally set at the heart of the Serpent Bohème motif. Pendant, earrings and ring express all the sunlit warmth of yellow gold.
The new onyx pieces reinterpret five jewellery essentials paired with gold and diamonds: a necklace, ring, earrings, bracelet and watch. A bracelet and a ring, both XXL, a pendant and a brooch accompany the contrasting concept where onyx and gold duel. The effect is striking. Against luminous yellow gold, the onyx appears almost liquid in depth, giving familiar silhouettes a sharper, more architectural edge. On one side lies darkness: rich black onyx, newly introduced into the Serpent Bohème universe. On the other, radiant polished gold glows with solar warmth. Together, these opposing forces create a visual dialogue that feels magnetic, sensual and deeply contemporary.
Creative Director Claire Choisne’s approach reflects a broader evolution within luxury jewellery, where versatility and individuality increasingly shape design language. These are pieces intended not simply to accessorise, but to define a mood, whether worn as singular statements or combined into maximalist compositions. Founded in 1858 by Frédéric Boucheron, the maison has consistently balanced heritage craftsmanship with avant-garde creativity. This latest Serpent Bohème evolution proves exactly why the collection remains relevant nearly 60 years after its debut. By embracing the tension between darkness and radiance, Boucheron delivers jewellery that feels emotionally resonant as well as visually compelling, pieces designed not merely to shine, but to reveal the power of contrast itself.

Buccellati has once again demonstrated its mastery of timeless craftsmanship with the launch of Muse. This new jewellery collection reimagines the maison’s celebrated Caviar motif in a vibrant and contemporary form. Sophisticated yet deeply rooted in heritage, the collection represents a graceful evolution of one of Buccellati’s most distinctive design signatures.
For decades, the Caviar motif has been a defining element of Buccellati’s aesthetic. Characterised by a finely textured surface of tiny gold spheres, it evokes the delicate granularity of caviar while transforming precious metal into a luminous, fabric-like canvas. The motif reached one of its most iconic expressions in the 1981 Cratere delle Muse, a masterpiece created by Gianmaria Buccellati. Crafted from silver, gold, jade and sapphires, the work exemplifies the finest traditions of Italian goldsmithing and serves as the inspiration behind the collection’s evocative name.
Now, under the creative direction of Andrea Buccellati, the Caviar motif makes a striking transition from the maison’s silverware heritage into the world of high jewellery. The Muse collection introduces a rich palette of gemstones, including rubies, sapphires and tsavorites, bringing new colour, depth and vitality to the signature design. Featured across pendants, bracelets, cufflinks, earrings and rings, the stones are meticulously selected and precisely set, creating a dynamic interplay of light and texture.
The result is a collection that feels both modern and timeless. Each piece showcases Buccellati’s unparalleled savoir-faire, blending technical excellence with artistic expression to create jewellery that transcends ornament and becomes wearable art.
With Muse, Buccellati bridges past and future, honouring its storied legacy while embracing fresh creative possibilities. The collection stands as a testament to the enduring power of craftsmanship, innovation and beauty – hallmarks that continue to define one of the world’s most revered luxury maisons.

Damiani’s high jewellery collections, Belle Époque and Margherita, are extended with new creations that further translate their cinematic motion and floral symbolism into radiant designs.

Two emblematic universes define Damiani’s 2026 vision: Belle Époque and Margherita, where heritage, artistry and contemporary emotion converge into high jewellery narratives shaped by light, movement and memory. From cinematic rhythm to floral symbolism, the maison translates inspiration into sculptural creations that blur the line between jewellery and art.
Belle Époque draws inspiration from early 20th-century France, an era of scientific progress, cultural effervescence and the birth of cinema. The collection captures the language of motion pictures, translating cinematic sequences into jewellery through rhythmic geometries of circles and rectangles for a sense of movement, a distinctive signature of the collection. Cinema thus becomes a metaphor for energy, motion and creativity – values that Damiani interprets and transforms into truly exquisite creations.
At Haute Jewels Geneva 2026, the iconic cross was reimagined in two new variations: one in white gold and the other in gold with a burnished finish. Both feature rare Paraiba tourmalines in the inner element. The new and captivating Azzurra cross comes to life with its luminous turquoise hues that evoke the crystal-clear waters of Capri’s Blue Grotto. The line extends into watchmaking, where slim diamond-set cases and bracelets echo the geometric code. White gold timepieces feature pavé or mother-of-pearl

dials, accented with diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds, powered by Swiss quartz precision.
Margherita pays tribute to Margherita of Savoy, Queen of Italy, whose elegance and strength inspire a floral universe centred on the daisy motif. Each creation features a radiant composition in which a central diamond or gemstone is embraced by diamond petals, forming luminous, balanced silhouettes.
The 2026 evolution introduces yellow sapphire, enriching rings, pendant necklaces, bracelets and earrings that reinterpret the purity of the flower, highlighting a corolla of white gold and diamond petals that elegantly frame the central yellow sapphire.
The new Margherita Bloom line expands the vision into sculptural landscapes crafted in the three colours of gold. These refined pieces stand out for their delicate floral compositions and sophisticated hue pairings: diamonds, aquamarine, pink tourmaline, peridot, citrine quartz and smoky quartz come together in luminous harmonies, expressed through brilliant, pear and marquise cuts. Completing the collection, jewellery watches echo the floral language with diamond-set bezels, coloured dials and lizard leather straps, uniting ornamental beauty with Swiss quartz precision.
The new creations are a vision of timeless elegance, where heritage meets refined contemporary high jewellery artistry.

paints the Mediterranean in pastel ceramic for summer 2026.

For nearly a decade, Hublot has transformed the Mediterranean summer into its own creative playground. Since 2017, the brand’s annual Hublot Summer releases have evolved beyond traditional product launches, becoming a seasonal ritual that blends watchmaking, lifestyle and innovation. For 2026, Hublot turns its focus to pastel ceramic, introducing a fresh palette of mint green, soft pink and sky blue that captures the effortless spirit of sun-soaked coastal living. Leading the collection are two striking Big Bang Summer models that share a vibrant aesthetic yet express it through distinct mechanical identities.
The 42mm Big Bang Unico Flyback Chronograph and the 44mm Big Bang Tourbillon showcase Hublot’s mastery of both material innovation and high-performance watchmaking.
Inspired by the changing colours of the Mediterranean, from pastel sunrises to glowing sunsets, the multi-coloured ceramic construction combines pink, mint and blue in a way only Hublot can engineer. Lightweight yet exceptionally durable, the cases reflect years of research that have positioned the brand as a leader in coloured high-tech ceramics.
Limited to 200 pieces, the Big Bang Unico Flyback Chronograph features a microblasted and polished pink-and-mint ceramic case, accented by a sky-blue bezel and caseback. The dial mirrors the same harmonious tones, creating a seamless summer-inspired composition. The highly advanced

manufacture Unico calibre, equipped with five patented innovations, delivers precision, efficiency and smooth chronograph performance.
Even more exclusive, the Big Bang Tourbillon is limited to just 10 pieces. Its transparent pink sapphire dial reveals the HUB6035 manufacture movement in full view, highlighting the architectural beauty of the tourbillon, micro-rotor and 72-hour power reserve.
Completing the summer lineup, the brand also introduced three Big Bang monochrome ceramics in peach, mint and petrol blue. Known for its bold, high-impact colours, Hublot ceramic now reveals a softer side. Available in 33mm and 42mm sizes, these watches celebrate colour in its purest form. On another innovation note, the 33mm marks the first diamondfree Big Bang of its kind, allowing the vibrant ceramic hues to take centre stage. The monochrome aesthetic extends from the dial to the case and bezel, and continues onto the structured, lined rubber strap.
The 42mm Big Bang Titanium Peach Ceramic, driven by the manufacture Unico flyback chronograph, adds a more technical edge. Housed in a titanium case with 100m water resistance, the colour peach dominates the bezel, skeletonised dial, hands and rubber strap.
From beach days to sunset soirées, Hublot’s Summer 2026 collection balances softness and strength, proving that bold innovation can be expressed in the lightest of tones.

SHISEIDO expands its suncare expertise with a new sensitive skin formula.
Drawing on more than a century of sun care innovation, SHISEIDO has introduced Expert Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive SPF50+, a new high-protection sunscreen developed for sensitive skin and suitable for children from six months old.
The launch builds on the brand's longstanding focus on combining advanced skincare science with UV protection technologies. According to SHISEIDO, the new formula has been specifically designed to address the needs of sensitive skin by offering strong, broad-spectrum defence and targeted soothing care.
The introduction comes at a time when concerns about skin sensitivity are growing globally. A study cited by the brand indicates that 71% of people identify as having sensitive skin. SHISEIDO then notes that this type of complexion can be more reactive to environmental stressors, including UV exposure, often leading to increased redness, discomfort and slower recovery.
To meet these evolving needs, the brand says Expert Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive SPF50+ provides very high UVA and UVB protection while incorporating ingredients and technologies intended to support sensitive skin. Central to the formula is SHISEIDO's proprietary SuperVeil-UV 36O technology, which aims to create a uniform protective veil that adheres closely to the skin, helping ensure even coverage across the face and body. It's alcohol-free with no added fragrance. According to the brand, the lightweight, breathable texture spreads effortlessly, absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy or sticky residue or any white cast.
The sunscreen also features SHISEIDO's signature WetForce Technology. This innovation is designed to reinforce the protective veil when exposed to water or perspiration, making the formula suitable for everyday wear, outdoor activities, beach days and swimming.
Sustainability remains integral to SHISEIDO's approach to beauty with its continued commitment to minimise environmental impact without compromising efficacy. The new Lotion Sensitive, as with other creams in the blue suncare line, features carefully selected UV filters, with internal studies showing no significant impact on corals.

This month, Élodie Carpentier, Co-founder of LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS, the new label added to the Ali Bin Ali Beauty portfolio, makes an introduction to the brand. Read all about what this French cosmetics company has to offer to its GCC customers.

LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS is a French luxury make-up brand that combines highperformance beauty with sustainability, offering vegan, COSMOS Organic and COSMOS Natural certified products made in France. The brand is distinguished by its patented use of plant-based pigments, offering a biodegradable, traceable alternative to conventional petrochemical colourants.
LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS showcases a unique French savoir-faire in natural colour innovation and sustainable luxury cosmetics.
LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS began with colour. Where did that story begin? It all started with a desire to pass on. I created LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS when I was pregnant with my little daughter. At that time, I naturally became more attentive to what I was eating, and that awareness quickly extended to what I was applying to my skin. As I began looking into cosmetic formulations, I realised I couldn’t find what I was truly looking for: products that were both safe, sensorial and respectful of health and the environment. As a biotechnology engineer with a deep passion for botany, I felt it was my responsibility to explore a different path and develop

formulations free of controversial ingredients – organic, vegan and rich in natural colouring. My ambition was to reinvent make-up through plantbased colour, and to sublimate women with plant-based pigments that are both powerful and respectful of life.
What was the idea you couldn’t let go of when you first imagined the brand?
When I first imagined LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS, I couldn’t let go of one idea: changing the codes of beauty. Today, 99% of the global make-up industry still relies on petrochemical pigments. I wanted to restore colour to its rightful nobility and rethink its place within beauty formulations. My ambition was to create a new era of make-up where colour would no longer be a compromise, but a living ingredient in its own right – more respectful, more sensorial and more powerful. From there, everything became clear: redefining beauty through a new balance of performance and naturalness, driven by plant-based colour.
Why colour?
For me, colour is emotion – beyond make-up, it is living and transformative. Plant-based pigmentation is unique because it carries both colour and biological properties: antioxidant, soothing or protective benefits derived from dye plants. Through our patented process, we extract both the colour and the active power of nature, creating deep, rich colour that goes beyond aesthetics. In an era of skinification (the practice of applying skincare

principles to your entire body), colour becomes care. It sublimates the skin over time, offering a more respectful and progressive approach to beauty.
What can botanical pigments tell us about beauty that synthetic colour cannot?
Botanical pigments offer a more holistic form of performance than synthetic colour. First, in terms of colour itself, they offer variability and intensity, vibrance and glow, with strong resistance and durability. Then, from a formulation perspective, they offer an alternative to titanium dioxide and other controversial ingredients, while providing additional biological benefits. Finally, there is an environmental dimension: ethical and sustainable sourcing, carbon sequestration by plants, biodegradability and traceability.
LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS often feels closer to a cultural project than a cosmetics brand. Was that always your intention?
Dye plants have been used for thousands of years and connect us to ancestral cultures. We are inspired by this knowledge and, through our scientific expertise and biotechnological processes, we transform it into stable formulations for our make-up creations.
How do heritage and innovation coexist within the brand?
It is indeed part of our DNA. We draw inspiration from ancestral cultures and empirical knowledge to reveal the potential of nature. Through our scientific expertise and biotechnology, we transform these natural resources into high-performance cosmetic applications.
What role does science play in your relationship with nature?
Science allows us to work with nature in a respectful way. It enables us to build robust protocols to transform botanical resources into reliable colour, without exploiting them. On the contrary, our approach values regeneration, sustainability and reduced environmental impact, including carbon sequestration. Greentech changes the codes of the industry: working in alliance with nature rather than against it, and offering a true alternative to petrochemical ingredients.

Your lipsticks have become the signature of LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS. Why do you think they resonate so strongly with consumers?
Lipstick was our first product, so it naturally became our signature. It is an iconic symbol of French elegance and glamour, embodying that unique “je ne sais quoi” admired worldwide. It is also one of the most technically demanding make-up products to develop, which makes it a true expression of our expertise in botanical colour.
How do you define luxury today?
Luxury is attention to detail: sophisticated, elegant packaging that never compromises desirability and French craftsmanship that turns each creation into a meaningful object. Today, it is also about greater awareness – respect for the skin and health, safe and intelligent formulations and ultimately the trust we place in what we apply on ourselves.
What has surprised you most since launching LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS?
What surprised me most was the absence of such an offer on the market, despite strong consumer demand. People were ready for a different approach to make-up.
What do you think the GCC beauty consumer is looking for today?
Today’s beauty consumer is extremely demanding. We are seeing a clear shift from make-up-centric routines to skincare-focussed expectations, with a strong emphasis on visible results, safety and efficacy. Trust has become central, along with ingredient transparency and brand authenticity.
What would you like people to feel the first time they experience LE ROUGE FRANÇAIS?
I would like them to feel they are entering a ritual. More than make-up, it is a sensorial experience of care – where beauty becomes a meaningful gesture. When they apply our products, they feel immediately enhanced, but also reassured: knowing their skin is respected, protected and cared for over time.

From its first location in Lusail to three branches across the city, including a prestigious address at Raffles Doha, Pinky Blush has redefined the beauty experience. Founder Myrna Al Haddad reveals the vision, values and ambition driving the brand’s remarkable growth.
What began as a vision for a luxury beauty sanctuary in Lusail grew into something far greater. Founded by Myrna Al Haddad, Pinky Blush Beauty Lounge was created not merely as a salon, but as a place where women could feel confident, empowered and celebrated. With three branches now – the most recent opened at Raffles Doha – it shows that what started as a beauty lounge has become a movement dedicated to confidence, connection and the celebration of women – with beauty as the invisible thread connecting it all.
Inspired by elegance, femininity and transformation, the lounge combined premium beauty services with a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged self-expression and personal growth. Through exclusive events, networking gatherings and empowerment initiatives, the brand expanded its mission from beauty and wellness to fostering meaningful relationships and opportunities for women across Qatar. Pinky Blush is a destination where luxury meets purpose and beauty meets empowerment. In a conversation with Myrna, OHLALA uncovers the secret behind its success.
OHLALA – What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned about scaling a beauty business?
Myrna Al Haddad – The biggest lesson has been that growth should never come at the expense of quality. Scaling a beauty business is not simply about opening new locations; it is about preserving the culture, service standards and personal connection that clients fell in love with from day one. I learned that investing in team training, clear systems and a strong company vision is essential if you want growth to be sustainable.
OHLALA– What inspired you to open additional locations, and how did you decide where to expand? How do you see the beauty scene in Qatar?
Myrna – The demand from our clients inspired our expansion. Many ladies wanted the Pinky Blush experience in different parts of the city and within luxury hospitality environments. We carefully selected locations that aligned with our values of elegance, wellness and exceptional service. Qatar’s beauty scene is evolving rapidly, with clients becoming increasingly knowledgeable and seeking personalised, results-driven experiences. I believe Qatar is becoming one of the most exciting beauty and wellness markets in the region.
OHLALA– How do you ensure that the Pinky Blush experience remains consistent across all three branches?
Myrna – Consistency comes from strong training, detailed service protocols and continuous quality control. Every team member is trained not only in technical skills but also in hospitality, client care and the Pinky Blush philosophy. We want every guest to feel the same warmth, professionalism and attention to detail regardless of which branch they visit.
OHLALA– As an entrepreneur, author and mentor, how do you manage your time across your various ventures?
Myrna – I prioritise structure, delegation and discipline. I focus on highimpact decisions while empowering trusted team members to manage daily operations. I also dedicate specific time blocks to writing, mentoring

“If every woman leaves feeling stronger, happier and more confident than when she arrived, then I believe we have achieved something meaningful”
– Myrna Al Haddad
and business development. Most importantly, I remain connected to my purpose, which helps me stay focussed even during demanding periods.
OHLALA – Which treatment or service has become the unexpected bestseller among your clients?
Myrna – One of the most surprising success stories has been our personalised facial treatments. Clients increasingly appreciate bespoke skincare rather than one-size-fits-all solutions. Our lymphatic drainage treatments have also seen remarkable growth as more people understand the connection between wellness, circulation and overall beauty.
OHLALA – What trends do you foresee shaping the future of beauty and wellness in the region over the next few years?
Myrna – I believe the future will be driven by personalised treatments, holistic wellness, longevity-focussed therapies and advanced non-invasive technologies. Clients are looking beyond beauty alone; they want treatments that support their well-being, confidence and lifestyle. There is also growing demand for natural-looking results and science-backed solutions.
OHLALA – If you could describe Pinky Blush in three words, what would they be and why?
Myrna – Elegant, personalised and empowering. Elegant because we create luxurious experiences with attention to every detail. Personalised because no two clients are treated the same. Empowering because our mission is to help women feel confident, valued and beautiful in their own unique way.
OHLALA – What legacy do you hope to create – not only for your business, but for the women who walk through your doors?
Myrna – I hope Pinky Blush becomes known as more than a beauty brand. I want it to be a place where women feel seen, heard and appreciated. My legacy is to create opportunities, inspire confidence and demonstrate that success can be built on kindness, passion and authenticity. If every woman leaves feeling stronger, happier and more confident than when she arrived, then I believe we have achieved something meaningful.

As temperatures climb and days stretch into golden evenings, summer brings a distinct shift in how our skin behaves. Humidity, UV exposure, air conditioning, salt water and increased perspiration can transform even the most balanced complexion. The skincare routine that carried you effortlessly through winter may suddenly feel too heavy, too drying or simply ineffective.
The secret to radiant summer skin lies not in adopting an entirely new regimen, but in understanding how seasonal changes affect your skin type. From oily and acne-prone complexions to dry, sensitive and combination skin, a tailored approach can help maintain a healthy glow while preventing common warm-weather concerns.
Summer often feels like the season oily skin was made for – and yet it can be surprisingly challenging. Increased heat stimulates sebaceous glands, leading to excess shine, enlarged pores and a greater likelihood of congestion and breakouts.
The instinct to strip away oil with harsh cleansers is understandable but misguided. Instead, opt for a gentle gel cleanser that removes excess sebum without compromising the skin barrier. Modern formulations containing ingredients such as niacinamide and hyaluronic acid provide hydration without heaviness.
When it comes to sunscreen, look for oil-free or mattifying formulas with broad-spectrum protection. Many luxury skincare brands now offer elegant textures that leave a soft-focus finish rather than the dreaded greasy sheen. Weekly exfoliation using salicylic acid can also help keep pores clear and reduce the buildup of dead skin cells accelerated by heat and humidity.
Dr Gabriela’s tip: Choose lightweight, oil-free and non-comedogenic products that hydrate without clogging pores. Avoid over-cleansing, as stripping the skin can trigger increased oil production. Professional laser treatments may also help reduce excess sebum production while improving overall skin texture.

Hot weather can be surprisingly harsh for dry skin. While the air may feel more humid outdoors, constant exposure to air conditioning, sun and travel can quickly deplete moisture levels.
The goal for dry skin in summer is to maintain hydration while avoiding products that feel occlusive or overly rich. Swap heavy winter creams for lighter emulsions packed with humectants such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid and panthenol. Hydrating serums layered beneath moisturiser can provide lasting comfort without overwhelming the skin. Ingredients like ceramides and squalane help reinforce the skin barrier, reducing moisture loss caused by sun exposure.
Facial mists may offer temporary refreshment, but they should complement, not replace, a comprehensive hydration strategy. For long days outdoors, reapplying sunscreen is particularly important, as UV damage can worsen dryness and accelerate signs of ageing.
Dr Gabriela’s tip: Incorporate a hyaluronic acid serum, a rich moisturiser and vitamin E into your routine to replenish moisture and support the skin barrier. Molecular water sprays can provide a refreshing boost throughout the day, while a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ should be applied daily to protect against UV damage.
The care for this skin profile often becomes more complex during this time of the year. The T-zone may become noticeably oilier, while cheeks remain normal or even drier. Treating the face as a single skin type frequently leads to imbalance.
The most effective approach is strategic customisation. Lightweight gel moisturisers work well across the face, while targeted treatments can address specific concerns in different areas. For example, a clarifying serum containing niacinamide can be applied to oil-prone zones, while richer hydrating products may be concentrated on drier areas. Clay masks are particularly useful when applied selectively to the forehead, nose and chin rather than the entire face.
Summer is also an excellent time to simplify. Multi-step routines can become overwhelming in warmer weather, and reducing unnecessary layers often helps combination skin maintain equilibrium.
Dr Gabriela’s tip: The key for this skin type is balance. Keep the skin well hydrated while managing excess shine in the T-zone with lightweight formulations. A gentle toner can help maintain the skin’s natural balance and leave it feeling fresh throughout the day.
For sensitive skin, increased UV exposure, heat, sweat, chlorine and environmental irritants can trigger redness, inflammation and discomfort. Minimalism is often the most sophisticated strategy. Focus on gentle cleansing, barrier-supporting hydration and diligent sun protection. Fragrance-free products with soothing ingredients such as centella asiatica, oat extract and allantoin can help calm reactive skin.
Mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are frequently better tolerated than some chemical alternatives.
Summer is not necessarily the ideal season to experiment with aggressive exfoliation or high-strength treatments that may increase sensitivity. A calm, resilient complexion is ultimately more beautiful than one pushed beyond its limits in pursuit of perfection.
Dr Gabriela’s tip: Protect and strengthen the skin barrier by using fragrance-free products formulated for sensitive skin. A daily anti-pollution cream can provide an added layer of defence against environmental stressors. It is also important to avoid sudden exposure to extreme heat or cold, which can trigger irritation.

ACNE-PRONE SKIN: PREVENTION IS KEY
Acne-prone skin often experiences a surge in activity during warmer months. Sweat, sunscreen, pollution and increased oil production can create an environment where blemishes thrive.
The solution is not avoiding sunscreen – a common mistake – but selecting formulas designed specifically for breakout-prone skin. Non-comedogenic options provide essential UV protection without clogging pores. Consistency matters more than intensity. Gentle cleansing twice daily, combined with proven ingredients such as salicylic acid, azelaic acid or appropriately used low-strength retinoids, can help maintain clarity. Resist the temptation to over-exfoliate. Excessive scrubbing weakens the skin barrier and may aggravate inflammation, making breakouts more persistent.
Dr Gabriela’s tip: Opt for non-comedogenic, hydrating skincare enriched with antioxidants such as grape seed extract and green tea to help calm and protect the skin. Cleanse after excessive sweating to minimise pore congestion and use a lightweight, gel-based SPF every day. Swimming in salt water may also benefit some individuals with acne-prone skin.
Regardless of your skin type, consistent sun protection is the foundation of healthy summer skin. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning and reapply every two hours, as well as after swimming or excessive sweating. Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water and, whenever possible, avoid prolonged direct sun exposure between 11am and 3pm. A thoughtful skincare routine, combined with smart sun habits, will help keep your skin healthy, comfortable and radiant all summer long.

If you’re going to book a spa day, you might as well do it properly. At eforea Spa & Health Club at Hilton Doha The Pearl, Sirine Boudjadi discovers what happens when a body ritual and a facial are combined into one indulgent session.

One of the reasons guests keep coming through the doors of Hilton Doha The Pearl, I’m sure, is eforea Spa & Health Club. Discreet and intimate, the wellness space offers everything from facials to body treatments for those looking to press pause for a few hours. During my visit, I get to try a bit of both, starting with the 90-minute Nomadic Escape ritual.
Within minutes, I’m tucked under a towel and horizontal, always a promising start. The first part is a full-body exfoliation with a lavender salt scrub blended with oil. As much as I love a proper Hammam, sometimes you want something a little gentler. And let’s be real: the body scrub sitting in my bathroom gets nowhere near this level of commitment. At home, my body scrub generally lasts just as long as whatever hair mask I’m using that day. Here, the therapist spends a good half hour working methodically over every inch of skin, with just the right amount of pressure and zero rushing. Scrubs definitely deserve more credit. They rarely get top billing when people book a spa treatment; everyone goes straight for the massage. But if your goal is actual results rather than simply lying down with music in the background, they make a lot of sense. After a quick shower to rinse everything off, it’s time for the second half of the ritual: a 50-minute massage with shea butter enriched with organic argan oil from Charme d’Orient, one of those brands that always gets the sensory side of things right. Nothing overly technical here, just long, flowing movements designed to ease tension and slow things down. By the time it’s over, my skin is noticeably smoother, softer and far more hydrated than when I walked in. Not a bad return for 90 minutes spent doing absolutely nothing.

Let’s be honest: most of us don’t make it to the spa nearly as often as we’d like, unless spa reviews happen to be part of the job (Lucky us, OHLALA team!). Which is exactly why I think a body treatment followed by a facial is the ultimate afternoon spa combination. If you’re only treating yourself every once in a while, you might as well make the most of it. You leave feeling relaxed from head to toe and, for one glorious evening, there’s no need to think about cleansing, exfoliating, layering serums or ticking off the rest of a 10-step skincare routine that I’d normally defend with my life. Of course, a post-spa dinner reservation changes the equation entirely, but that’s a conversation for another day.
The Elixir of Time is a 75-minute facial performed by Annett, another therapist, using PHYTOMER’s marine-based skincare range. According to the description, it’s supposed to target fine lines and wrinkles. I’m celebrating my birthday this June and still like to think I have a few years left before either becomes a genuine concern. Then again, skincare brands would probably argue that now is exactly the time to start thinking about them. Either way, the promise of firmer skin and a healthy glow is enough to get me on board. Like any facial worthy of the name, it starts with a proper cleanse with the Eye Makeup Removal Solution, Toning Cleansing Lotion and Gentle Cleansing Milk, a trio that does the job without stripping the skin. Next comes the Resurfacing Multi-Exfoliant, a blend of sea salt, algae and mineral-rich marine ingredients. Annett massages it in with gentle movements before bringing in a facial steamer. The warmth helps open up the pores for the extraction stage. Many spa facials skip this step in favour of pure relaxation, so I’m happy to see it included. Granted, having blackheads extracted is never going to compete with a massage on the enjoyment scale. Even without a mediaeval-looking blackhead remover involved, it’s still mildly uncomfortable. But it’s one of those situations where a few minutes of discomfort are rewarded with results that are immediately visible. To calm things down afterwards, Annett applies the Post-Extraction Serum to soothe any redness while giving the pores one last deep-cleaning boost.

With that done, I’m finally ready for my first mask: the Pure Pore Heating Mask. Formulated with Laminaria Digitata, a mineral-rich brown algae known for its purifying properties, it’s designed to give congested skin a proper reset. I really enjoy the warming effect. As soon as it’s applied, I can feel a gentle heat building across my face. Slightly surprising at first, yes, but also very comforting, a bit like wrapping yourself in a blanket. Combined with the soft-brush application, it becomes a very enjoyable part of the treatment. A layer of Wrinkle and Dark Spot Correct Moisturising Serum with OLIGOMER (a trace-element and mineral-rich marine complex) later, it’s finally time for the massage with the Hydra-Melting Massage Cream. The final stages include the Tensing Smoothing Mask Plasticizing With Marine Criste. While it works its magic, the therapist moves on to my forearms and hands. Is a hand and arm massage strictly necessary? Probably not. Do I enjoy every second of it? Absolutely. A few finishing products later, I’m convinced we’re done. After all, how many more products could possibly fit into a 75-minute facial? My phone ringing is enough to briefly pull me out of my spa-induced state of semi-hibernation, yet Annett isn’t finished with me. Instead, she begins gently stretching my neck and shoulders, lifting and rocking my arms from side to side. It might seem surprising at the end of a facial, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Between hours spent at a desk, scrolling on the phone and generally carrying stress where most of us do, a lot of the tension we see on our faces actually starts elsewhere. And it’s definitely a nice way to wrap it up. After spending well over two hours lying completely still, the gentle stretches help ease you back into an upright position. Think of it as a soft landing before returning to the real world.

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa was Sirine Boudjadi’s destination for a pampering session that combined a visit to the steam room, deep exfoliation and results-driven skincare treatments.

Iheaded to Heavenly Spa by Westin at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa straight after a light lunch at the hotel and what I liked immediately was the transition into the spa itself. The passage leading there is designed to force your nervous system to slow down. One minute you’re in the middle of the lobby’s busy atmosphere; the next you’re walking through a huge indoor garden flooded with natural light, surrounded by long water features, bamboo and lush tropical plants. At the reception, Koeki warmly welcomed me with dates and a hot towel scented with lemongrass, which already put me in a good mood. She then gave me a quick tour of the facilities: pool, gym, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and Hammam, basically everything required for a full temporary personality reset. After changing into my robe and slippers, I was ready for my first treatment.
It had actually been a while since my last proper Hammam, so I was very happy they’d chosen that treatment for me. Soukaina, who’s from Morocco, took care of me and I immediately knew I was in good hands. She started by applying traditional black soap all over my body, then left me in the steam room for a few minutes so the heat could fully open my pores. Then came the kessa glove exfoliation.
This is simultaneously the least relaxing and most satisfying part of the entire Hammam experience because the scrubbing is intense. But at the same time, watching layers of dead skin literally disappear is weirdly addictive. That’s exactly why a proper Hammam hits differently from exfoliating at home. It boosts circulation, removes dead skin buildup, unclogs pores and leaves the body ridiculously soft in a way no overpriced scrub ever really can.

After rinsing everything off, she followed with a lavender sugar scrub, which somehow made my skin feel even smoother. Next came a lavender and clay mask, almost like a variation of the traditional rhassoul usually used in Hammams. The clay helps draw out impurities while the lavender calms the skin and relaxes the body, much appreciated after the slight brutality of the kessa glove. She also washed my hair at the end, fully committing to the whole rebirth energy of the experience.
After all that steaming and exfoliation, I moved on to a facial with Gladys. We went for a 30-minute treatment, which I’m normally sceptical about. I’m still surprised by how much she managed to fit into such a short session. The facial was done using BABOR, the German skincare brand beauty insiders have been obsessed with for years. Known for its scienceled approach, the brand focusses on highly concentrated active ingredients and its iconic ampoules.
The treatment bed was already heated, which I appreciated more than usual, considering I’m permanently cold during facials and my hair was still wet from the Hammam. Gladys started with the Hy-Öl Cleanser, followed by the Refining Enzyme & Vitamin C Cleanser, which gently exfoliates and boosts radiance.

She then applied the Peeling Mask for about a minute before moving on to the Purifying Mask. During this stage, Gladys gave me an incredible foot massage. It only lasted a few moments, but I genuinely could’ve fallen asleep right there. She used very firm pressure without it feeling painful, and somehow immediately found all the tension points that needed work. While the third Renewal Overnight Mask was setting, she moved on to a scalp massage, which somehow pushed me even closer to unconsciousness. Formulated with postbiotics, apple pectin and nourishing plant oils, this final mask is designed to support the skin barrier and lock in moisture while helping the complexion look smoother, plumper and more radiant.
One thing I really appreciated throughout the treatment was her use of cold towels between products. Whenever certain active ingredients started tingling slightly, she would press a fresh cold towel onto my skin, which instantly calmed everything down. It also helps stimulate circulation, so by the end I looked fresh and glowing rather than red or sensitised.
For the finishing steps, she applied the Refine Cellular A16 Booster Concentrate, Lip & Eye Care Cream and finally the Phyto CBD Cream. I loved the products overall because everything felt lightweight without that overpowering perfume smell some skincare brands insist on adding to absolutely everything. At the end of the treatment, you can stay in the relaxation area for tea and actually give yourself a moment to slowly come back to reality after the whole experience. By the time I left Heavenly Spa, my skin was glowing and I was ready for bed.

The hot season is often misunderstood in this part of the world. Beyond the rising temperatures lies a period when life shifts into a slower, more luxurious rhythm – don't escape; embrace it. We share ideas for what to do and enjoy during this time of year.

Gone are the days when having a break was measured solely by distance travelled. Today's most coveted summer experiences are often found much closer to home, where a carefully curated staycation offers all the indulgence of a holiday without the stress of airports, lengthy itineraries or time-zone adjustments. Across the Gulf, luxury resorts and urban retreats have transformed the staycation into an art form. Designed to provide a complete change of pace, these escapes offer an opportunity to disconnect from daily routines while remaining within easy reach of home. A weekend by the pool. A sunrise yoga session overlooking the water. An afternoon spent at the spa. Long lunches, uninterrupted reading and evenings dedicated to fine dining and meaningful conversation.
Convenience is the keyword here. Staycations offer time to rest, reconnect and enjoy luxury without the pressure of a packed travel schedule. For families, they provide effortless entertainment and relaxation. Couples create intimate moments away from everyday distractions. Solo travellers are offered a chance to reset and recharge in complete comfort.
The staycation is a reminder that sometimes the most rewarding journeys require very little travel. The greatest luxury this summer may not be going away. It may simply be slowing down.

- No flights, visas or airport transfers.
- More time to relax and less time spent travelling.
- Access to world-class wellness facilities.
- Exceptional dining experiences.
- Ideal for weekend escapes.
- The perfect balance between luxury and convenience.

Dressing in the hot months is no longer defined by practicality. Today's wardrobes are not about escaping the heat; they are about embracing it with intention, refinement and a sense of modern femininity that feels both effortless and elevated. Summer style has evolved into its own visual language. It moves between city and coast, between private gatherings and social evenings, between understated daytime ease and luminous nighttime glamour. Fashion is no longer just seasonal – it is experiential.
A fluid linen set in soft neutral tones. A silk kaftan worn loosely over sun-kissed skin. An oversized shirt paired with tailored wide-leg trousers. Lightweight fabrics that breathe with the body, designed to move gracefully from morning to evening. Accessories remain quietly powerful. Sculptural gold jewellery, refined leather sandals, woven textures and statement sunglasses complete the look without overwhelming it. The palette mirrors the landscape itself: sand, ivory, pearl, sage, terracotta and sunset gold.
By day, it is about comfort elevated through tailoring and texture. By evening, it shifts into subtle glamour – silk finishes, fluid silhouettes, metallic accents and softly structured pieces that catch the light just enough. Uncomplicated fashion. The most beautiful look this summer may not be the most elaborate. It may simply be the most effortless.

- Breathable, high-quality fabrics designed for heat and comfort.
- Effortless transitions from day to night.
- A timeless neutral colour palette inspired by the surrounding landscape.
- Elegant, modest dressing that feels modern and global.
- Versatile pieces suited for travel, staycations and city life.
- Accessories that elevate without overpowering.

When it comes to beauty, the shift is centred on simplicity, radiance and effortless confidence. Beauty rituals have evolved to reflect both the climate and the lifestyle of the season. Long, sun-filled days call for lightweight formulas, nourishing skincare and a less-is-more philosophy that prioritises healthy, luminous skin.
Just like with the outfits, the key lies in ease. A skincare routine built around hydration and protection. Lightweight complexion products that allow natural skin to shine through. A touch of bronzed warmth, softly defined eyes and a lip colour that complements rather than competes – effortless enhancements designed to move seamlessly from daytime gatherings to elegant evening occasions.
Hair follows a similarly relaxed approach – glossy, healthy textures, soft movement and styles that embrace natural beauty without excessive styling. The goal is polished without appearing overdone, sophisticated without feeling complicated. Summer beauty offers confidence that comes from feeling comfortable in your skin, from prioritising selfcare over perfection, allowing beauty to feel personal rather than performative.
By day, it is about freshness, hydration and protection. By evening, it transitions into subtle glamour – luminous finishes, soft highlights and elegant details that catch the light without overwhelming the look. A modern beauty philosophy that reminds us that true sophistication is often found in restraint.

- Lightweight routines designed for warm-weather comfort.
- A focus on healthy, radiant skin rather than heavy coverage.
- Effortless transitions from daytime freshness to evening glamour.
- Hydration and sun protection at the centre of every routine.
- Time-saving rituals that feel luxurious without being complicated.

If you are planning on staying in the country or leaving for just a few days here and there, you can use some of your free time investing in something lasting: learning a new skill or kicking off that project you keep postponing. The time is perfect; it's when everything goes quieter, when slower days allow you to dig deep and create something concrete. People are embracing a different kind of seasonal reset. Whether it is mastering a new language, exploring photography, developing culinary techniques, learning to play an instrument or building professional expertise, summer has become a season of personal growth as much as relaxation.
An hour spent practising a new language before breakfast. An afternoon dedicated to painting or creative writing. Evening workshops, online courses or hands-on experiences that transform curiosity into confidence. Small moments of learning that gradually become meaningful achievements. Beyond the knowledge itself, acquiring a new skill or investing in that special project offers something increasingly valuable: momentum. Challenge yourself, step outside familiar routines and discover interests and talents that may otherwise have remained unexplored.
In a world with constant distractions, learning requires presence. It asks us to focus, be curious and embrace progress rather than perfection. The most valuable souvenir from this summer may not be something you bring home from a trip. It may be a skill, a passion or a newfound confidence that stays with you long after the season ends.

- Encourages personal and professional growth.
- Creates a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
- Flexible enough to fit around summer schedules.
- Opens the door to new hobbies, interests and opportunities.
- Offers long-term value that extends beyond the season.

Summer in the Middle East has inspired a lifestyle unlike anywhere else in the world. While other Northern Hemisphere countries are enjoying the outdoors, we move in the opposite direction. Here, when the temperatures rise outside, a different season unfolds indoors – one defined by comfort, creativity and curated experiences.
Far from being a retreat from the heat, sheltering indoors has become a way of living. Across the region, beautifully designed spaces transform summer into an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and enjoy life's quieter luxuries. Elegant cafés become meeting places for long conversations. Art galleries offer moments of inspiration. Wellness sanctuaries provide calm amid the pace of modern life.
Shopping destinations have evolved into lifestyle hubs where fashion, dining, entertainment and design exist under one roof. Private clubs, cinemas and creative spaces offer environments that feel both productive and restorative.
Home, too, takes on a renewed significance. The season becomes an opportunity to embrace slower rituals – a leisurely breakfast, an afternoon spent reading, gathering friends for dinner or simply enjoying the comfort of staying at home. The focus shifts from activity to atmosphere. Summer is not something to endure. It is something to reimagine. Because sometimes the best moments happen not under the sun, but within the spaces designed to escape it.

- Beautifully designed spaces that elevate everyday experiences.
- A thriving indoor culture of art, dining, wellness and entertainment.
- Luxury hotels and city escapes that feel like mini-holidays.
- Comfort-driven living that never compromises on style.
- A uniquely Middle Eastern approach to hospitality and indoor elegance.

But life isn't just done indoors at this time of the year; it's not like we see days passing by through the window. When the sun slips below the horizon, a different kind of vibe arises. The intensity of the day softens into something altogether more alluring – an atmosphere defined by light, movement and the quiet luxury of warm summer evenings.
Across the region, life begins again after sunset. Waterfront promenades glow beneath the moonlight and city skylines sparkle against velvet skies. Terraces and gardens (some with portable AC blasting or enclosed tents with air conditioning) fill with conversation that lingers long into the night. The heat that once dictated the rhythm of the day gives way to the night, which is still warm but, when humidity allows, sitting outside can be an option for summer to unfold after dark. An intimate garden gathering illuminated by candlelight. A late-night stroll through vibrant districts where cafés and restaurants remain alive with energy until the early hours. This unique nighttime culture has become one of the region's defining summer experiences. It embraces a different energy – one where social life flourishes after sunset and the most beautiful hours of the day are often the last.
The nights create space for gathering, celebrating and making memories. They invite us to slow down, stay a little longer and appreciate the beauty of the present moment. In the Middle East, summer is not defined solely by the sun. It is defined by what happens after it sets. And it is there, beneath the stars, that the season's true magic begins.

- A vibrant evening culture that transforms cities after sunset.
- Outdoor escapes made for summer nights.
- A unique blend of elegance, hospitality and contemporary luxury.
- Social experiences that encourage connection and celebration.
- The opportunity to experience the region's most beautiful moments after dark.

Summer is no longer simply a season – it is an invitation to live beautifully. Modern holidays are not about excess; they are about exclusivity, personalisation and the pursuit of extraordinary experiences that create lasting memories.
For discerning travellers and enthusiasts of elevated experiences, the warmest months of the year offer an opportunity to embrace a carefully curated lifestyle defined by exceptional destinations, meaningful journeys and unforgettable moments. From private island escapes and Mediterranean yacht voyages to wellness retreats. The luxury explorer is no longer content with merely seeing a destination; they seek to understand it through unique perspectives and insider access.

Every indulgent summer begins with a location that inspires. The Mediterranean remains the undisputed playground of the global elite. The sun-drenched coastlines of the French Riviera, the cliffside elegance of the Amalfi Coast and the whitewashed villages of the Greek islands continue to attract travellers seeking a blend of glamour and authenticity.
For those seeking privacy and exclusivity, the Maldives offers an unparalleled retreat. Overwater villas, private butler services and direct access to crystal-clear lagoons create a seamless fusion of comfort and natural beauty. It’s where lavishness is measured in silence, space and personalised service. Queenstown, New Zealand, is the destination for those seeking adventure refined into splendour: private lodges on Lake Wakatipu, helicopter access to remote landscapes and a summer defined by nature at scale.
Chile, especially Patagonia, offers remote, elemental grandeur where design-forward eco-lodges sit amid glaciers, lakes and endless silence. For something closer to home, Oman offers understated desert-meets-coast extravagance, with empty beaches, dramatic canyons, and boutique resorts focussed on privacy and landscape. The key is choosing a destination that aligns with your desired pace – whether that means vibrant social scenes, secluded relaxation or cultural discovery.

EXPERIENCES BEYOND THE ORDINARY
Access to experiences unavailable to the average traveller echoes uniqueness, such as exploring iconic landmarks through private, curated tours. Imagine entering historic palaces before public opening hours, enjoying after-hours museum access or exploring ancient archaeological sites with expert historians. Art lovers can immerse themselves in exclusive exhibitions, private gallery previews and collector events. You can join the private art historian tour of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York offers before-hours tours led by art historians with access through a private entrance before the galleries open to the public. Visitors get approximately an hour of crowd-free viewing of highlights, including works by Van Gogh, Monet and Picasso. Nature also becomes a luxury attraction when experienced through a curated lens. Private sailing excursions through hidden coves or guided wildlife expeditions led by conservation experts transform sightseeing into storytelling. The Galápagos Islands are among the world’s most well-structured conservation destinations. Expeditions are tightly controlled, often led by certified naturalists who are directly involved in protecting fragile ecosystems, with the option to do so aboard boutique expedition yachts.

One of the defining trends of contemporary luxury is wellness. Today’s affluent travellers are increasingly investing in experiences that enhance physical vitality, mental clarity and emotional well-being. Summer offers the perfect environment to prioritise self-care while embracing the pleasures of travel. Luxury wellness retreats combine advanced health diagnostics, personalised nutrition plans, fitness coaching and restorative spa therapies. Guests can enjoy sunrise yoga overlooking the ocean, guided meditation sessions led by world-renowned practitioners and holistic treatments inspired by local traditions. If you are looking into longevity and biohacking treatments, including cryotherapy and oxygen therapy, Switzerland has many cities, such as Weggis, Montreux and Graubünden, with specialised spas and hotels that provide an array of the latest therapies in this field.
Beyond traditional spas, experiential wellness has emerged as a defining element of luxury living. Forest bathing in Scandinavian landscapes would be an interesting activity. Just outside Stockholm, Tyresta National Park protects one of the largest old-growth forests in southern Sweden. It’s easily accessible if you’re combining wellness with a city trip. You can also embark on sound healing ceremonies in desert retreats and ocean therapy experiences along pristine coastlines, creating opportunities for profound renewal. The ultimate luxury is feeling your best, and summer provides the perfect setting to achieve that balance.

THE ART OF OCEAN LUXURY
The sea is best experienced through movement – gliding across open water, tracing coastlines and anchoring in places only accessible by boat. At the heart of this lifestyle is the yacht, a private vessel that transforms the ocean into a personal space of comfort and discovery. Days begin with a slow departure from the harbour, the coastline fading behind as the sea opens into an uninterrupted horizon. Onboard, time is unstructured: breakfast on deck, sun-drenched lounging and swims in quiet coves where the water is clear and still.
Sailing adds a more elemental dimension to the experience. Whether aboard a classic sloop or a modern catamaran, the rhythm of wind and water defines the journey. In the Greek islands or the Balearics, short passages between islands become part of the pleasure itself – each arrival revealing a new bay, a hidden beach or a harbour lined with whitewashed homes. The act of sailing turns travel into immersion, where the journey is as meaningful as the destination.
Beyond the Mediterranean, the Caribbean redefines seclusion. Private islands in destinations such as St. Barts or Turks and Caicos offer uninterrupted horizons and an atmosphere of complete privacy, where the sea becomes both setting and sanctuary. Ultimately, summer at sea is not defined by where one goes, but by how one moves through it. It is a season of ease and intention, where the ocean softens pace, refines perspective and quietly redefines what it means to live well.

Summer is a season that naturally reshapes how we eat – lighter, fresher and more closely connected to ingredients at their peak. Across the world, it becomes an invitation to slow down and explore food not just as sustenance, but as an experience rooted in place, culture and creativity. In many destinations, summer dining is defined by abundance and simplicity. The Tuscan region in Italy offers farm-to-table dining in the countryside. Vineyard estates and rustic agritourism venues serve seasonal menus centred on sun-ripened tomatoes, fresh basil and handmade pasta, often paired with local grapes. Meals are often designed to be shared, reflecting the social nature of summer gatherings.
Outdoor dining also becomes central to the season. Rooftop dining in summer is about perspective – eating above the rhythm of the city, where warmth lingers into the night and the skyline becomes part of the experience. In Barcelona, rooftop dining blends coastal breeze with urban culture. While in Paris, things are more intimate and elegant. Street food cultures thrive in cities where night markets and openair stalls offer everything from grilled skewers to handmade noodles, reflecting local traditions at their most accessible. In Istanbul, they are woven into waterfront promenades and bustling squares. In Hanoi, summer evenings are best spent sitting on tiny stools along the Old Quarter streets. Culinary experiences during the hot season are defined by freshness, openness and a sense of ease. It is a season where food becomes less formal, more sensory and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature and travelling.

When a restaurant promises a taste of France, expectations naturally come with it. Sirine Boudjadi heads to La Maison Ani Doha to find out whether the food lives up to the fantasy.

If you’ve spent any time following Doha’s food scene, chances are you’ve already come across La Maison Ani. Between its growing reputation and its other outposts in Dubai and London, the concept hardly needs an introduction. At the heart of it all is Chef Izu Ani’s tribute to France. The story goes that while living there, one of his daily rituals was picking up a fresh baguette from his local boulangerie. Most of us eat half of it before we get home. He built an entire restaurant around it. The idea is to recreate that all-day French way of eating: morning pastries, lazy lunches and long dinners.
The team knows the menu inside out. A quick tour of the signatures and best-sellers later, and I’m more than happy to let them take the lead. It doesn’t take long to realise that the snails are one of the main attractions here. Now, despite my French passport, they remain a personal boundary (along with oysters, foie gras and anything involving rabbit). Some stereotypes simply don’t apply. So while braver people can report back on those, I turn my attention to the Caesar salad instead. I almost never expect much from one. They’re usually either drowning in dressing or so timid you forget about them the second the mains arrive. This one lands somewhere in the sweet spot. We order ours with chicken, although you can also add prawns if seafood is more your thing. The lettuce stays crisp, the Parmesan is generous and the veal bacon brings exactly the salty crunch every Caesar needs. The Onion Tart is also a must. The onions are almost jam-like, balanced by salty anchovies and black olives, while the pastry somehow stays perfectly flaky. A few dollops of cream tied everything together, leaving me wondering why onion tart isn’t having its truffle pasta moment. The Grilled Harissa Prawns are another easy favourite. Juicy, lightly charred and served in a fragrant harissa sauce, they bring warmth rather than serious heat, meaning even those who claim they’re bad with spicy food should survive the experience.

By the time the mains arrive, calorie counting is no longer part of the evening’s agenda. The Rigatoni alla Izu makes sure of that. Rich, silky and cooked perfectly al dente, it’s comfort food in its purest form. Then comes the dish I’d already seen approximately 50 times on Instagram before ever setting foot in the restaurant: the Izu Burger. And, staying true to the whole baguette philosophy, it’s served in one. I have to admit that was always going to win me over. Paired with dangerously addictive fries, the Wagyu beef is juicy, the Emmental melts beautifully into the meat, and the tartar-barbecue sauce adds just the right amount of smokiness and tang. Instagram was right about this one! Sensing that we might appreciate something a little more sensible before the sugar marathon ahead, we’re also encouraged to try the Grilled Tenderloin. Or maybe it’s simply the kitchen’s polite way of making us feel slightly less guilty about everything we’ve already eaten. Either way, we happily accept. The beef is beautifully cooked, with a caramelised crust, buttery baby potatoes and a rich peppercorn sauce – a small moment of balance before complete dessert chaos.
To give you an idea, when you walk into the restaurant, you’re greeted by a pastry counter that basically spoils the ending of the story. Behind the glass sits an almost ridiculous selection of cakes, éclairs, viennoiseries and French classics that makes you seriously question whether skipping straight to dessert is an acceptable life choice. Just when you think that’s the dessert menu, you discover there’s an entirely separate one. Our decision-making skills are still nowhere to be found, so we let the team take over. Their advice? The Warm Chocolate Mousse with Malt Ice Cream. We’re glad we listened. Calling it a mousse almost feels unfair because it doesn’t really know what it wants to be. It’s somewhere between a mousse, a molten cake and the dessert equivalent of wrapping yourself in a blanket after a very long day. It’s warm, with a scoop of malt ice cream slowly melting into the middle,

creating those perfect hot-and-cold spoonfuls that taste even better than they should. Another dessert people seem to rave about is the cheesecake, with a choice of passion fruit, coffee, caramel, red fruit or pistachio toppings. The menu doesn’t mention it, but the portion is easily big enough to share. The filling is smooth and creamy, sitting on a delicate biscuit base, while the topping is served on the side so you can be as reasonable, or unreasonable, as you like. Needless to say, we chose the second option.
The French spirit carries through to the interiors, with marble tables, blush banquettes, warm wooden details and plenty of greenery. But if there’s one place you want to end up, it’s the terrace. With its hanging plants, soft lighting and Mediterranean feel, it’s an easy place to settle in for the evening and lose track of time. Now, it’s all very charming, but pretty interiors and a good backstory only get you so far. What really matters is what’s on the plate.

FROM ITS COMMANDING ROAD PRESENCE TO ITS FINELY TUNED DYNAMICS, OHLALA PUT THE ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE TO THE TEST AND DISCOVERED A HIGH-PERFORMANCE SPORTS CAR THAT BLENDS THRILLING CAPABILITY WITH EVERYDAY SOPHISTICATION.
The Vantage arrived with a reputation to uphold. On paper, at least, it had all the ingredients of a formidable sports car.
We spent a day inspecting and driving the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Coupé to find out whether those credentials translated into something meaningful on the road. By the end of our time with it, the answer was clear.
This was not simply a sports car with impressive numbers attached to it. It was a machine that managed to balance immense performance with genuine sophistication, while retaining the craftsmanship expected from one of Britain's most prestigious automotive names.
Finished in Podium Green, our test vehicle looked every inch an Aston Martin. During our time with it, the wider stance and more muscular proportions drew plenty of attention, while a larger grille and Matrix LED headlamps featuring the brand's latest light signature reinforced its stronger visual presence.
The carbon fibre roof, upper and lower body packages and the satin black 21-inch forged Y-Spoke wheels suited the car particularly well, while larger quad exhaust tailpipes and a wider rear bumper completed the look.
The longer we spent around the Aston Martin Vantage, the more we appreciated the discipline behind the design. Despite its obvious performance
credentials, the styling never felt cluttered or overworked. Instead, every line and surface contributed to a cohesive whole that blended visual impact with remarkable composure.
What impressed us most was the balance. The design is undeniably aggressive, yet it never abandons the elegance expected of the marque. Many performance cars seem determined to announce themselves at every opportunity. The Vantage seemed entirely comfortable relying on its proportions to make the point.
Opening the door revealed one of the most significant developments in the 2025 model. Aston Martin has created an all-new interior architecture that feels modern, luxurious and beautifully executed.
Our test car featured Sports Plus seats finished in an Onyx Black monotone environment, complemented by satin carbon fibre trim, satin dark chrome detailing and AMR Lime contrast stitching. Together, these elements created a sporting yet luxurious atmosphere.
Once behind the wheel, the quality of execution became even more apparent. Clean architectural lines and a sense of visual clarity give the cabin a contemporary character, while the materials leave little doubt that this is a premium sports car. The driving position felt natural from the outset, with supportive seating and ergonomics that quickly made the car feel familiar.
"Aston Martin has created an all-new interior architecture that feels modern, luxurious and beautifully executed."

We also appreciated the absence of unnecessary clutter. The cabin was thoughtfully arranged, with frequently used controls easy to locate and operate. In a car capable of this level of performance, that intuitive usability proved particularly welcome.
Despite the sporting nature of the interior, the cabin never felt intimidating. The longer we spent behind the wheel, the more apparent its comfort became. After the test drive, we found ourselves making some decidedly unfair comparisons with our own car's seats.
Technology plays a central role in the Vantage experience without dominating it. At the centre of the dashboard sits Aston Martin's bespoke infotainment system, seamlessly integrated into the cabin design. The interface proved responsive and intuitive, allowing us to spend more time enjoying the road and less time negotiating with touchscreen logic. We were equally pleased to find physical controls retained for key functions. In an era where some systems appear determined to turn simple adjustments into administrative exercises, the approach felt refreshingly sensible.
Our test vehicle was equipped with the optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system. It delivered excellent clarity and depth, although there were moments when the twin-turbocharged V8 mounted a persuasive challenge for ownership of the soundtrack.
At our test site, it did not take long to understand why Aston Martin calls this the fastest and most powerful Vantage yet.
The car felt eager from the outset, responding instantly and gathering speed with an effortlessness that left us wishing for a little more tarmac. Power comes from a heavily reworked 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 665PS and 800Nm of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. It delivers a 0-100km/h sprint of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h.
Just as remarkable was the way the Vantage carried its performance. It always felt alert and responsive, yet never demanding. There was a fluency to the way it accelerated, changed direction and settled through corners that made the car feel approachable rather than intimidating.

Yet what impressed us most was the confidence that accompanied the pace. Aston Martin's perfect 50:50 weight distribution, adaptive dampers and Electronic Rear Differential all contribute to a reassuring sense of control. The steering delivered clear feedback, the chassis felt planted through quicker corners and the brakes shed speed with reassuring authority whenever required. The Vantage constantly encouraged us to become more involved in the drive, and we found no reason to argue with it.
Supporting the performance is an advanced suite of driver assistance and vehicle dynamics technologies.
Central to the experience is Aston Martin's Active Vehicle Dynamics system, working alongside the Electronic Stability Programme, traction management systems and Electronic Rear Differential. Throughout our drive, these systems operated discreetly in the background, enhancing confidence without diluting the character of the car.
Blind Spot Monitoring, active park assist and the 360-degree camera system further contribute to everyday usability. The latter proved particularly welcome whenever we found ourselves manoeuvring a very valuable Aston Martin into a parking space that appeared far more accommodating from a distance.
By the end of our time with the Vantage, it was its sense of completeness that stayed with us most. Every element supported the same objective: creating a sports car that prioritises driver enjoyment without sacrificing refinement. Fast, engaging and beautifully executed, it delivers on the promise carried by one of Aston Martin's most celebrated names. By the time our test concluded, we were still finding reasons to take the long way back.
More importantly, it showed that outright performance means very little without the confidence to enjoy it.

Did you notice that most boots in the World Cup 2026 are pink? The reason behind this is a trend forecast (marketing stuff), but also simply because green and pink sit opposite each other on the colour wheel, making fluorescent pink boots stand out effortlessly against natural turf, ensuring maximum visibility. We like to think it was chosen in support of women. What are your thoughts?
