Or, at least…happy new financial year. Thank you to those who attended our annual budget presentations in February. I often mention the importance of all forms of engagement at Simbithi. One of our strategic initiatives is Optimising Stakeholder Relationships and, with our community being one of our primary stakeholder groups, your attendance is paramount to our success and growth as an Estate.
NooNooBug on page 15, and how this pilot project is harnessing technology and promoting sustainability. We are proud to partner with likeminded companies that embrace our strategy and put it into action.
In this edition, we also share more about World Wildlife Day, marked on 3 March 2026. Our wildlife is exceptionally important to us at Simbithi, forming a critical part of our ecosystem.
Speaking of stakeholders, Fidelity Security Services, our security service providers are “driving” an amazing initiative on Simbithi that is well in line with our strategy. You can read more about
This month, we also celebrate the International Day of Forests on 22 March. The beautiful forests of Simbithi truly form the foundation of our home, having been established through the policies of original farm owner, Mannie Ladlau. I encourage you to make time to explore the Estate. Take a walk through the forests and listen to the birds or stand still as a duiker trots by.
You will be reminded, once again, just how special this part of the world is.
Finally, an update on the rollout of our facial biometric system. Following comprehensive due diligence by our team, an equipment order has been placed, which honours the commitment given during our 2025 Annual General Meeting.

We will share more on installation dates and duration in our weekly updates, soon. Thank you for your patience, Simbithi.
Have a great month.

Tuesday, 3 March 2026 marked World Wildlife Day.
Designated by the United Nations, World Wildlife Day, or WWD, is designed to bring awareness to wild animals and plants, specifically to their “unique roles and contributions” to people and the planet.

The United Nations encourages individuals to consider wildlife and their critical role in maintaining biodiversity within eco-systems, encouraging sustainable, eco-friendly practices to ensure these are preserved for the plant, animal and human lives that will follow us.
As an eco-estate, we consider our wildlife part of our family. Our environmental rules, policies and procedures ensure their protection and wellbeing.

It is always a joy to spot them out and about, and we encourage you to co-exist harmoniously with all forms of wildlife.

Our HOA team ended off the financial year with a morning of adventure golf at the Heron Community Centre, recently. After some good-natured competition, General Manager Marc Mc Clure awarded the quarter’s top performing employees. Well done, to: Employee of the Quarter: Security Technical Officer, Alvin Govender People’s Choice (as voted by HOA staff): Sales and Administration Clerk, Glenda Pillay

Innovator of the Quarter: Marketing & Communications CoOrdinator, Jodi Chetty

One of the key elements of ensuring a well-run Estate is compliance within our community. In an effort to improve compliance, our Building Control team has developed an explanatory series on important processes involving our community, which we will share in our monthly e-Newsletters.
This month, we are going to share more on our Consent of Sale process.
Here is how it works :
If you are selling your property, our Building Control Administrator, Shantal Chithiya will email you advising a Consent of Sale (COS) inspection will be scheduled.
After the inspection, you will receive an email from our team containing details of the building and environmental elements that require amendment or rectification.
The most recent plans on file at SEEHOA will be attached to the correspondence, requesting your confirmation that they are accurate.
• Our team is available for further consults to ensure you are assisted in terms of complying with our policies, guidelines and protocols prior to sale.

• If the plans are outdated, our team will request for you to forward the latest approved plans.
• A date will then be decided for the inspection, suitable for your team and ours.
Once the elements have been rectified in line with our policies, guidelines and protocols, our team will notify Glenda Pillay, Sales and Administration Clerk, that the property transfer may proceed.

While driving on our Estate roads, you will come across speed display boards at strategic points, which are intended to create awareness of the Estate speed limit of 40km/h. If you exceed the speed limit, the speed board will record your speed, image of the vehicle and the registration number. For the first offence, security will engage and caution you not to exceed the speed limit.
For the second and third offences, a penalty of R500 will be levied. A penalty of R2500 will be levied for the fourth and fifth offences.
We appeal to all you to adhere to the speed limit of 40km/h, which is part of our Estate rules and is in place for the protection of all who use our roads.
& Found
Items that are misplaced around the Estate, particularly in our common areas, are collected and temporarily stored by our security department. Our team then follows a process to attempt to return lost and found items.

If items are not claimed within a month, they are then donated to one of our CSI initiatives.
If you have lost an item, please contact the Control Room on 032 946 8373/4/5 with a full description of the item.

Our security service partner, Fidelity Security Services, recently introduced an electric vehicle to site. This initiative is aligned with our strategic initiatives of Promoting Sustainability and Harnessing Technology.
The vehicle will be used for patrolling the Estate and is designed to achieve 200km on a full charge of battery life, which takes approximately four hours to charge.
Our staff have affectionately named the newest addition, NooNooBug.

Two of our speed boards were recently upgraded to use solar power. This improves our efficiency by enabling our team to leave the speed boards permanently on site, serving as a consistent reminder to our community and guests to adhere to speed limits, promoting safer roads. This initiative is also aligned with promoting sustainability.

It was an absolute privilege to attend the World Conference in Anaheim towards the end of February this year The calibre of speakers, leaders, and presentations was truly next level.
I am immensely grateful to CMASA for their generosity in making this opportunity possible for myself and the Club. To stand before leaders from Club Management Associations from around the world and share our Club and Estate’s Vision, Mission, and Initiatives, was a true honour.
This past financial year has been a success in many ways. My team has consistently delivered strong revenue results and successfully executed key projects across several months. As we look ahead to the new financial year, we remain fully committed to ensuring we continue delivering exceptional value to our patrons, residents, and guests, a challenge I embrace with enthusiasm each year.
The forward growth of the industry has taken the business of Club Management into the Technology era. The lectures, talks and networking all provided an outstanding platform for stakeholder engagement and transparency, I was incredibly proud to represent our organisation on such a prestigious global stage. I am deeply proud of my team and what we have achieved in a very demanding and often challenging environment. Operating within infrastructure constraints has only strengthened our resolve and resilience but has ensured we continue to grow year on year.
On the golf side, our Club Championships are upon us, and a competitive field will be vying for honours. We wish all our competitors the very best of luck. A sincere thank you also goes
to our Golf Committee and Management Team for organising this prestigious event.
While staying on the topic of sport, as the humidity of February begins to ease, it is the perfect time to get back onto the courts and enjoy your favourite racquet sport. It has also been wonderful to see how the Bowls greens and Lap Pool have grown in popularity. Thank you to our residents and members for embracing these facilities and making them such vibrant spaces.
So, what does March have in store for us?
On the 26th of March, Simbithi will showcase a selection of vintage wines, paired with delicious canapés. This evening introduces a slight change to the format of our traditional pairing events. Guests will have the opportunity to move more freely, network and enjoy the experience as friends and family mingle throughout the evening.

On the 27th of March, we welcome the return of live music on the deck as we begin the lead-up to the Easter weekend. Please keep an eye on our communications as we confirm the act. After a short pause, we are delighted to bring back this much-loved offering. We hope to see many of you there, so please remember to reserve your tables.
Finally, as we count down to Easter on the 5th of April, preparations are well underway for one of the Club’s most anticipated family events. The Easter Bunny will once again be hiding his precious eggs in the play park, with dedicated turns for both the younger and older children to search for the colourful treats. Live entertainment will accompany a range of food stations, with lamb on the spit returning as a highlight of the day. This event traditionally sells out, so please ensure you have secured your table.
On that note, I wish you all a wonderful March and look forward to seeing you at the Club. Warm regards,
Craig Nell

Greetings Members,
We concluded the annual Spring Treatment programme at the end of January and were delighted to welcome members back with a thoroughly entertaining Greenkeepers’ Revenge, hosted by the Matkovich team on 31 January.
pumphouse. Ensuring uninterrupted irrigation capability is now a priority risk-management focus area.
The extreme weather conditions during Spring Treatment, coupled with an extended power outage, created significant operational pressure. The greens staff worked tirelessly to manually irrigate the greens to prevent long-term heat stress and damage. This situation clearly highlighted the vulnerability of our irrigation system during prolonged power interruptions.
In parallel, the successful introduction of hybrid bent grass at several leading courses in the region has encouraged us to follow suit at Simbithi. Over the coming months, our greens and tee boxes will be inter-seeded with this specialised hybrid variety. The expected outcome is improved durability, enhanced recovery, and greater resilience to wear on our tee boxes.
To mitigate this risk going forward, the team is currently assessing and sizing a standby generator solution to support the
While hybrid bent grass offers significant agronomic benefits, it is also sensitive to excessive heat. This further reinforces the importance of securing a reliable backup power supply – uninterrupted irrigation is nonnegotiable if we are to protect our course investment and maintain our greens at a desired standard.
We look forward to seeing the benefits of these enhanced maintenance initiatives as we progress toward Club Championships in the coming months.
the near future. The Halfway House continues to be well-managed by our Food and Beverage team, and we thank them for their support during this period.

On another note, many members have expressed concern regarding our Halfway House Supervisor, Dudu Xhakaza. Her friendly presence, outgoing personality, and remarkable ability to connect warmly with members are deeply missed during our rounds.
We are confident that you will join Management and the Committee in wishing Dudu strength and a full recovery. As one of our original and longest-serving staff members, she forms an integral part of the Simbithi golfing community, and her contribution to our club’s story is both valued and appreciated.

As some of you may be aware, Dudu has been unwell for some time. While the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) prevents us from sharing details of her condition, we can advise that she is unlikely to return to work in

Dear Members,
The months of January and February greeted Simbithi with exceptionally warm weather. Our golf course is looking beautiful, despite the need for good rain. On Thursday evening, 5 February, our men’s golf section hosted a league kit hand over to our respective teams. Alpine Motors handed each of our two Captains a car for their first league match, which was held on Sunday, 8 February. Arriving in style at Selborne GC, our A league side did us very proud by beating Umhlali A 9.5 – 2.5. Well done to Terence and his team, an excellent start to the season. Our Allerton side played at Toti GC against Ethekweni and narrowly lost 5.5–6.5.

Daniel Samuelson played in the Global Junior Golf - UAE Championship held at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. It was a great experience and learning opportunity playing on different greens, in the desert, on a European tour level difficulty course. He finished in fifth position in the U/14 division. He now moves on to the next two tournaments which will be held in Portugal. Well done to Daniel!
Club Real Estate in conjunction with Morrow Attorneys hosted the first 9-hole shootout on Thursday, 5 February.
We hosted our annual greenkeepers' revenge on 31 January which is always a highlight. Everyone had a lot of fun.
A big thank you to Darren Bennet and his team for what is always a fun event.
Our knockout matches will commence soon, and we wish everyone participating all the best.
Happy golfing.
Pieter van der Westhuizen

Dear Members,
The Ladies' Section has enjoyed a busy and successful start to the year, despite the exceptionally hot weather. Our members have continued to show great commitment and enthusiasm throughout the season.
The league season is now well underway, with three matches already completed. Congratulations to all who have represented Simbithi.
Your dedication and sportsmanship are a credit to the Club.
Our Tuesday competitions remain exceptionally well supported, with more than 40 ladies participating each week.
The course itself is in excellent condition, and we wish to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our greenkeeping staff in maintaining such high standards, particularly during these hot and demanding conditions.

The camaraderie and enthusiasm among our players create a wonderful atmosphere both on and off the course. A special mention of the Beach Day and Greenkeepers' Revenge, which the Pro Shop arranged after our spring treatment, when the course was still very sandy and recovering from treatment. It proved to be great fun.
As we look ahead to the coming weeks, we thank all members for their continued participation and support. Let us stay hydrated, play well, and continue to uphold the wonderful spirit of Simbithi Ladies Golf.
