SMALL BRIEF OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT
This project explores the historical, geographical, and urban development of Gallicant, an abandoned settlement often referred to as “The Ghost City.” Through a multidisciplinary approach combining cartographic analysis, archival research, and field studies, the work reconstructs the territorial evolution of the site from its origins to its decline. The metaphor of the “Puzzle del Passatge” represents the fragmented memory and layered complexity of Gallicant’s landscape — a passage through time, space, and human settlement. The project not only investigates the causes behind the city's abandonment but also reflects on the broader implications of rural depopulation, landscape transformation, and cultural memory in Catalonia.
