The TIO Newsletter As we edge towards Christmas, that grand old mix of sparkle, short days, and a bit of frantic juggling, I want to shine a light on the brilliant work happening across Extern. Our six Trauma Informed Groups have been buzzing away, and you can already start to feel the difference. Some workspaces are beginning to feel more traumainformed , conversations are opening, and even our policies are now being shaped with trauma-informed in mind. These are small steps, but they are real ones, and they’re adding up. Our managers have now completed the Value-Based Workshops (VBBs), which are all about embedding our organisational values into everything we do. The next phase of the programme will roll out in the New Year. When your session is scheduled, we encourage you to attend. This isn’t just a tick-box exercise – it’s a chance to shape how we work together and make sure everyone feels part of an organisation that genuinely cares, demonstrates compassion, and truly walks the talk.
We still have plenty to do, and it needs everyone’s participation, but the direction of travel is good. December can be a funny old month, equal parts lovely and exhausting, so mind yourselves. Be kind, be patient, and treat people the way you’d hope to be treated on a busy day in a long queue. Those little moments make a world of difference. Thank you for all you have done this year. May the next few weeks bring a bit of calm, a bit of laughter, and maybe even the good biscuits appearing in the office.
