Fired up with passion, dedication and team spirit, New York Empire Powered by Lugano will be jumping for glorious victory at the home leg of the GCL team championship series.
The dynamic team owned by rider, philanthropist and mother-of-three Georgina Bloomberg, will be the focus of attention in front of enthusiastic home fans at the Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL of New York.
Delivering success for Team Owner Georgina will be high on the agenda for her riders at the flagship event, which makes its debut at Liberty State Park. And what a stage! The iconic backdrop of the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty will inspire everyone attending this unique feast of high octane show jumping and entertainment.
Georgina has a life-long love of horses and a deep commitment to animal welfare. Riding since she was a child, she progressed with characteristic determination to reach top tier international competition. Georgina instantly understood Jan Tops’ vision for the innovative GCL, which could transform the sport and underpin a thriving future.
“Jan had a strong vision to drive this sport forward and I was inspired to join that effort and become a Team Owner early on,” Georgina explained. “Being a Team Owner puts you right at the heart of the excitement of a top sporting league and your team’s evolving strategy.”
Georgina recently gave birth to baby Scarlett, who joins brothers Sebastian and Jasper, who is already loving riding. Admired for her intelligence, poise and impressive multi-tasking skills, Georgina said: “I am delighted the LGCT and GCL is bringing world class show jumping to New York again.
I know my team will be pulling out all the stops to achieve success and I hope our wonderful fans will be at the show cheering on the New York Empire riders on home soil!”
New York Empire, with a talented six-strong roster cleverly combining seasoned stars and fresh young guns, will be in action against 16 rival teams at a pivotal stage in the 2025 GCL season. A founding member of New York Empire powered by Lugano, Scott Brash is one of the most accomplished riders in the world and a cornerstone of the team’s identity. An Olympic gold medallist, multiple LGCT Champion, and GCL veteran, Scott has delivered crucial clears and double-clear rounds season after season. As a tactician and leader, Brash returns in 2025 to lead the Empire’s charge toward GCL supremacy.
A seasoned GCL competitor with a reputation for performing under pressure, Denis Lynch brings speed, precision, and years of tactical insight to the team. Recruited from the Doha Falcons, Michael Pender has proven himself as one of Ireland’s most dynamic young riders. In 2024, he delivered key rounds resulting in multiple podiums, showcasing nerves of steel and big-match temperament. Known for his classic style and tight turns, Pender brings fresh firepower to the Empire’s front line - and he’s not here to play it safe.
One of Britain’s most promising young riders, Robert Murphy joins New York Empire powered by Lugano with the hunger and horsepower to thrive on the GCL stage. Making his GCL debut in 2025, Robert is no stranger to international pressure, having impressed with strong results in U25 and CSI5* classes across Europe.
