Welcome to our opponents We are looking forward to another weekend of boys’ hockey fixtures and girls’ netball matches against Mount Kelly this weekend. The Senior (U18) hockey squad are once again playing under lights on Friday and, following the success of last week, will be looking to take their good form into half term. After a busy few days of mid-week netball, where the school fielded five senior teams against Blundell’s, we welcome teams from Mount Kelly to Exeter and thank them in advance for hosting the U15A and U14A. I hope all of the fixtures are competitive and great fun! We are also delighted to welcome parents and spectators from both schools and encourage them to actively support all the pupils, regardless of their team, with equal enthusiasm and respect. We politely ask them to support the umpires; many of whom give up their time to enable the occasions to take place. I am sure that you will enjoy watching and I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the day. FIRST AID PROVISION Today’s match day first aid is provided by our sports staff/team managers who are all qualified first aiders and fully stocked first aid kits will be on pitch side. Where necessary injured players will be taken to the cabin located on the map (13). In the event of an emergency an ambulance will be called, and pupils taken to hospital. HEAD INJURY PROTOCOL Exeter School takes all head injuries seriously and members of PE staff and team coaches are first aid trained and follow strict protocol if a pupil sustains a head injury and they will be placed on graduated return to play programme on their return to school. In serious cases pupils would be referred to a local hospital (details left) as they would with any other serious injury. Please remember signs and symptoms could take up to 48 hours to develop and should be monitored. Possible signs of concussion include headaches, drowsiness, confusion, unsteadiness, memory loss and convulsiveness. If you are unsure at any stage if a player has a head injury or is concussed, you should seek medical attention.

Catering and Parking Tea & coffee will be available for parents before the match and after the match in the Butterfield Hall. Players and staff will be provided with a hot meal served in the school dining room after their fixtures.
PARKING We ask that all parents use the main car park located by the school’s astro. Access to this car park can be found on Victoria Park Road (EX2 4NS) by the cricket pavilion. Parents dropping off or picking up pupils from away fixtures can do so from the Manston Terrace entrance (EX2 4NP) and should do so from the turning circle. No parking, with the exception of opposition coaches, will be available in the quad or surrounding areas on Saturdays.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES Exeter School is delighted to introduce a new range of scholarships to complement its bursaries and free places.
9 and Year 12, thanks to donations and legacies from former pupils and grants from a local charity.
Scholarships are available at 11+, 13+ and 16+ for pupils who show excellence in art, drama, music, and sport.
All applications for support for the year 2021/22 must be received by 7 January 2022. The assessment process will include a home visit. As a general guide, gross parental income will need to be below £60,000 p.a. to allow consideration for a bursary.
Academic scholarships for pupils new to the co-educational independent school are awarded based on the results of the entrance assessments sat in January of the year of entry.
