Wije’winen
About the Summer program. This summer, our community program is gathering around an incredibly exciting milestone: the construction of the new Wije’winen centre! While the future home of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre grows, we are transforming the construction fence itself into a vibrant canvas for community storytelling, public art, and placemaking. Together, we’ll dive into hands-on building, creative design, and community reflection to honor the rich history of the MNFC while celebrating the bright future of this site. This isn’t just about a fence, it’s about working side-by-side to shape a special public space that reflects who we are, where we’ve been, and where we are going. Everyone is welcome to help us write this story! Fence Site Location
What is Every One Every Day? Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk is a Reconciliation initiative of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre that brings together residents from across the North End to learn, create, and share with one another. Projects range from cooking community meals, cultural knowledge sharing, to building or crafting useful items for shared spaces. From sewing and repairing to making and celebrating, these activities create opportunities for Indigenous and nonIndigenous neighbours to connect, build relationships rooted in mutual respect, and contribute their many gifts and talents to collaborative, community-driven projects.
Who is this for? Every One Every Day is for everyone! We all bring our own experiences, skills, and stories to share. An invitation to learn from one another, share what you know, and discover what’s possible—together. Always Free • No Registration • Drop-In Style
