Gather Round is now so much more than nine games of footy - it has become one of the great major events anywhere in our country.
What makes it so special is its uniqueness. For four days, supporters from all 18 AFL clubs come together in one city - not just to watch footy, but to celebrate it. And they do so against the backdrop of everything that makes our state such a great place to visit.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor for Gather Round this year, or a footy fan who has made the weekend an annual tradition, I’d like to extend a very warm South Australian welcome to you all. And the numbers tell a powerful story. Last year, more than 54,000 interstate visitors travelled here for Gather Round, staying an average of nearly five nights per person and helping to deliver a record $113.9 million boost to our economy. That’s real impact for our businesses, for our regions, and for our economy.
But Gather Round is about more than what happens on the field. It’s about the atmosphere right across our state - from the return of the Norwood Food & Wine Festival, to the Festival of Footy events happening in every corner of South Australia. This is a weekend where South Australia is on show. So wherever you’ve come from, and whoever you barrack for, I’m confident you’ll enjoy not just the football - but the very best of South Australian hospitality.

When the final siren sounds at Barossa Park on Saturday 11 April, the celebrations will continue on Murray Street, Tanunda as it transforms into the ultimate post-match destination for food, wine and entertainment. The atmosphere at this fully accessible event will be buzzing as restaurants, cafes and cellar doors spill onto the street.
Families can enjoy kids activities, sports fans can catch more footy action on the big screen and music lovers can enjoy Adelaide indie-pop band The Tullamarines, supported by local artists and DJ Alex Hosking.
Donate a pair of new or gently used Football Boots to the ‘Kick It Forward’ Community Boot Drive and receive a complimentary Benni’s of Barossa single scoop Gelati. In conjunction with Tanunda Football Club, the football boots will be donated to the SANFL APY League competition in Central Australia, helping young footballers achieve their best.

NORWOOD FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

THE BEST SOUTH AUSTRALIAN EATING AND DRINKING EXPERIENCES WILL FEATURE AS THE NORWOOD FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL RETURNS TO THE PARADE.
All the fun kicks off from 11am along The Parade, with FREE ENTRY and highlights including a performance by Australian electronic outfit THE PRESETS.
The precinct’s bars, cafes and restaurants will be joined by some of the state’s best wine, beer and spirit producers for an afternoon of festivities in true South Australian style. Expect live music, entertainment and plenty of delicious food and drinks, with local favourite ARKHÉ serving up Mayura Station wagyu beef burgers.
PSEUDO SPAGHETTI X SIGNATURE WINES will delight with Italian snacks and FAIR SEAFOOD will serve fresh seafood alongside Yangarra Estate wines and Never Never gin.
Cooking demonstrations hosted in the TASTING AUSTRALIA KITCHEN are sure to be a daytime drawcard, with celebrity chef CALLUM HANN and local culinary stars showcasing a variety of seasonal dishes.
