Evan Roderick
As a fan of Evan Roderick, I’ve been inspired by the way he’s turned life’s challenges into opportunities for creative expression. His shift from being a hockey player to an actor and songwriter reflects not only talent, but also courage and resilience. I first saw Evan on Arrow, where he played Detective Nick Anastas. His performance had a quiet strength that immediately stood out. Learning later that he had played Division I hockey at UMass Lowell before switching paths after an injury made me admire him even more. He didn’t let a setback define him; instead, he followed a new passion and committed to it fully. Evan Roderick Anderson grew up in Vancouver, where his dedication to hockey led him to attend multiple schools across British Columbia. Even while pursuing sports, he took on commercial acting work during the summers. Though small at the time, those roles planted the early seeds of what would eventually become his career. After hockey, he returned to Vancouver to study acting seriously, building his skills through classes and independent roles. His breakout role came in Netflix’s Spinning Out, where he played Justin Davis. Evan portrayed a young figure skater navigating both personal and professional struggles, and his performance was marked by emotional honesty. It was the kind of role that allowed him to connect with audiences on a deeper level, and many fans, like myself, saw it as a defining moment in his career. Now, Evan is set to play Dylan Roberts in "If I Run," a role that delves into more dramatic and psychological territory. It’s exciting to see him continue to grow as an actor. His 2023 Leo Award nomination for Sealed with a List was well-earned and showed that his work is being recognized in the industry. Evan also brings his voice to music, with his recent single “Early Years” offering a personal and reflective glimpse into his journey. Evan Roderick continues to earn the support of fans not only through his talent but through the heart and purpose he brings to every project.
