Magaluf lights up Amazing drone display for the official promenade opening HUNDREDS of residents and visitors gathered in Magaluf to celebrate the official opening of the resort’s newly transformed promenade with one of Mallorca’s biggest free events of the summer. There was a real buzz in the air as families arrived early to claim their spots on the beach, laying out picnic blankets and chairs while children played by the shoreline. Along the promenade, local restaurants, bars and businesses welcomed visitors with special offers and discounts, creating a lively festival atmosphere before the evening’s entertainment got underway. An enormous stage overlooking the bay was set for the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, while many people chose to cool off with a swim or enjoy a stroll along the new waterfront as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon. The opening weekend saw crowds around in droves, with the free-entry festival transforming the football stadium into a bustling open-air burger village, with gourmet food trucks, long communal tables, and a lively atmosphere. The toughest decision for visitors is choosing what to eat. More than a dozen of Spain’s best-known burger brands are serving up everything from classic smash burgers to towering creations packed with premium beef, melted cheese and signature sauces. Among the highlights are Nolito’s famous blue-bun Diamante Azul, local favourite Smash Double, Godeo, DAK, Faakin Smash and Vacarnal, while a Champions Cheesecake area offers plenty of sweet treats. There’s more than just food on offer too. Families have been enjoying entertainment including towering robots, colourful stilt-walkers and a children’s activity area, adding to the festival atmosphere.
