Meredith’s latest visit to Mallorca was all about enjoying the island’s hospitality. For many locals, seeing the Beckhams return each summer has become a familiar sight, underlining the island’s enduring appeal to families who value its relaxed lifestyle and welcoming communities.

MALLORCA welcomed one of its busiest periods of the summer as Jet2 experienced “its biggest weekend of the season,” with the island once again named as the airline’s top destination as UK schools broke up for the holidays. Thousands of British families travelled to Mallorca, marking the start of the peak summer getaway. Airports including Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Bristol, Glasgow and Newcastle handled a surge in departures as holidaymakers. Mallorca remained Jet2’s most popular destination thanks to its mix of sunshine, family-friendly resorts, and wide choice of accommodation. Resorts including Alcudia, Cala d’Or, Palmanova, Santa Ponsa and Palma welcomed an influx of visitors. The increase in arrivals also made Palma Airport one of Spain’s busiest, with hotels, restaurants, attractions and transport services experiencing the traditional holiday rush. For Mallorca’s tourism industry, the weekend marked one of the most important trading periods of the year. With the UK school holidays now under way and demand remaining strong, Mallorca has once again reinforced its position as one of Britain’s favourite summer destinations. Credit:Jet2

TED BECKHAM and Hilary Meredith have once again shown their affection for Mallorca after being welcomed by the Mayor of Felanitx during their latest stay on the island. David Beckham’s father and his wife, one of Britain’s best-known lawyers, were invited to lunch by Mayor Catalina Soler, highlighting the warm relationship they have built with the local community over many years. The couple are regular visitors to Mallorca and own a home in Portopetro, where they spend part of the summer each year. Their visits have made them familiar faces in the southeast of the island, with the area becoming something of a second home. The relaxed gathering was shared on social media by the mayor, with photographs showing the group enjoying lunch together. Rather than an official engagement, the occasion reflected the long-standing friendship between the Beckhams and local representatives in Felanitx. Portopetro and the surrounding municipality continue to attract high-pro-
