AS one celebrity departs the island, another arrives, with actress Sydney Sweeney swapping the busy streets of Los Angeles for the calm waters of the Mediterranean. Sweeney rose to fame as Cassie Howard in the award-winning series Euphoria, and recently experienced box-office success when she starred opposite Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, a thriller about a live-in housemaid that was almost immediately greenlit for a sequel. The Emmy-nominated star was spotted arriving in Mallorca with her boyfriend and music executive, Scooter Braun. Romance rumours between the two first stirred last summer, when the pair were spotted together at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s lavish Italian wedding. Despite their relationship becoming more serious, the two kept their romance mostly

private until mid-2026 when Braun publicly supported Sweeney at the Euphoria Season Three premiere. Upon arrival, the Hollywood stars headed to Puerto Andratx where the Rising Sun, a 138-metre superyacht was waiting for them. They boarded and set sail for several days, cruising around the island. This Mediterranean ge-

taway comes as a much-needed break for Sweeney, who spent the first half of the summer in Australia, filming for her latest project. She certainly kicked into holiday mode once aboard. Sweeney was spotted tanning in a blue bikini and diving into the sea to cool down. Meanwhile, Braun entertained himself by racing through the water on

jet skis. After several days aboard the Rising Sun, Sweeney and Braun disembarked at Cala Gamba and returned to Palma Airport. Sweeney’s autumn is set to be just as busy as her summer, with production on The Housemaid’s Secret expected to begin in a matter of months, and several more major projects lined up.

ALQUERIA BLANCA in Santanyi celebrated Sant Roc with a lively day of tradition, music and community spirit. Festivities began with a solemn Mass at the parish church before celebrations moved to the streets. There the Xeremiers del Terme provided the soundtrack for the much-loved dance of the cabezudos, a highlight for both children and adults. Cabezudos, meaning ‘big heads’, refers to the oversized human or animal heads worn by performers. The characters interact with crowds, bringing extra colour and joy to local festivities. In Mallorca, they form an important part of local celebrations and help keep local traditions alive. This year, their festivities continued beyond the village streets. Accompanied by the Xeremiers del Terme, the cabezudos paid a special visit to the local day centre, where music and dancing brought smiles to the residents. The visit also offered a chance to see the centre’s handmade creations and, most importantly, share local traditions with every member of the community. Credit: Ayuntamiento de Santanyi
