Walking together ONE THOUSAND participants joined the Walk for Cudeca Walkathon 2026 event at the Arroyo de la Miel Fairground in Benalmadena. Members of the public joined forces with local businesses and institutions for a full day focused on sport and social commitment. Funds collected totalled more than €25,000 to help Cudeca Hospice maintain specialised free palliative care for people with cancer and other advanced illnesses while providing comprehensive assistance to their families. Activities opened with a walk featuring coastal and inland routes before a full programme of family-friendly options including live music, a charity bar, a colour party, a fundraising raffle and paella created a warm atmosphere full of togetherness and generosity. Marisa Martin, managing director and medical director at Cudeca Hospice, stated that the public response shows society understands the importance of caring at the end of life with participants forming part of a chain allowing dignified accompaniment for patients and families in difficult moments. Raised money will back services at Cudeca Hospice as work there covers physical needs in addition to psychological, social and spiritual assistance for patients and relatives.
