Fair fever begins RESIDENTS and visitors in the Region of Murcia experienced a triumphant start to the opening weekend of the Murcia Feria 2026, or Murcia Fair, taking place in the vibrant and bustling Costa Calida hub of Murcia City. Following an exciting and personal opening speech delivered by the renowned local artist Walls, alongside the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the city has welcomed the first weekend of the long-awaited fair with a grand reception, in which thousands of locals and visitors have filled every iconic landmark across the city, setting record
attendance numbers for the opening celebrations. The traditional heart of the festivities once again centred around the expansive gardens of the riverbank, where the famous Huertos del Malecón welcomed vast crowds from early afternoon into the late evening hours. Families and groups of friends gathered around the authentic food stands to savour the finest offerings of Murcian cuisine.
