Beach safety boost Bigger lifeguard presence then ever this year NERJA and Maro beaches are about to roll out their strongest daily lifeguard and rescue coverage ever, beginning Monday June 1. Operations will run without breaks until 9pm every day to support the busy season ahead. This year, numbers in the team climb to 50 personnel, more than last summer. Forty-four lifeguards will work together with three coordinators and three boat captains. Fresh medical equipment, megaphone installations and upgraded communication tools equip the entire unit. Close work continues with civil protection for smooth response times. Improvements reach beyond just staffing levels. New shaded zones will now serve people with reduced mobility at Burriana, Torrecilla and El Playazo beaches. These changes show a clear focus on safety, accessibility and comfort for everyone. Activation occurs earlier this year, two weeks before the official bathing season opens. Coverage stretches right through until Sunday, September 27. Residents and holidaymakers will receive consistent protection during peak tourist months. Efforts centre on delivering beaches known for the best standards in security and facilities. Extra resources and earlier start dates go to show commitment to quality experiences. Peace of mind for everyone has become paramount for the local government.
