THE resurgence of Covid19 cases within the region has prompted the Vega Baja Hos pital in Orihuela to reinstate the mandatory use of masks. In response to this develop ment, a communication let ter was dispatched to all members of the hospital staff on Thursday, August 24, out lining a series of updated pro tocols designed to effectively address the evolving coron avirus situation. The hospital’s monitoring committee highlighted a no table and concerning surge in the number of patients seek ing admission to the facility with confirmed Covid19 di agnoses. This numerical in crease, as reported, has seen a stark rise from an average of five or six patients per day to a significant total of 30.
