tive trend in Andalucia, with a 22 per cent drop in the last 12 months. The trend in the province reflects what has happened at the national level, with unemployment levels at a 15year low, coinciding with
the onset of the crisis in 2008. In June, 2,688,842 people were still on the unemploy ment rolls, with 20.8 million people registered with Social Security. Six out of every 10 con
tracts signed in the region were temporary, a total of 169,674, while the remaining 108,969 were permanent. By sex, unemployment among women stands out, who were the main ones af fected by the lack of work at regional level, with 427,804 people looking for work, al most twice as many as men.
