tive trend in Andalucia, with a 22 per cent drop in the last 12 months. The trend in the province reflects what has happened at the national level, with unemployment levels at a 15­year low, coinciding with

the onset of the crisis in 2008. In June, 2,688,842 people were still on the unemploy­ ment rolls, with 20.8 million people registered with Social Security. Six out of every 10 con­

tracts signed in the region were temporary, a total of 169,674, while the remaining 108,969 were permanent. By sex, unemployment among women stands out, who were the main ones af­ fected by the lack of work at regional level, with 427,804 people looking for work, al­ most twice as many as men.
