BABYSITTING GRANT Boat Show 23 MURCIA’S town hall has launched a new programme to support families and help reconcile family and pro­ fessional life. One of the services of­ fered in this new programme is a babysitting service. You can already apply for this service if you have children aged from 0­six years old. The service supplies a babysitter for a maximum of four hours per day and a maximum of 40 hours per year. The service is available be­ tween the hours of 8am and 8pm and they can care for a maximum of two children at the same time. Within this programme, another service is being trialled in the towns of Lobosillo, Beniján, Alquerías, and Murcia. They will open schools from 4pm to 8pm to provide after­school care for children. All of the services are free and are part of a pilot pro­ gramme. The town hall will use this pilot programme to gather informa­ tion with the intention of expanding it depending on the demand. THE 11th edition of the nautical fair is to be held in San Pedro del Pinatar in the Region of Murcia. The boat show will take place in ‘Ma­ rina de las Salinas’ and will run from Thursday, April 6 until Sunday, April 9. The boat show is part of San Pe­ dro del Pinatar’s Easter pro­ gramme called ‘San Pedro Te Mueve’. Access is free for all members of the public and the timetable will be from 10am until 8pm, with no break for lunch or siesta for the four days.

Semana Santa Murcia SEMANA SANTA or Holy Week is a major religious and cultural event in Spain. It is the most important religious event, commemorating the last week of Jesus’ life. The Catholic religious brother­ hoods (cofradía) perform proces­ sions through the streets of all Spanish towns during the last week of Lent, the week leading up to Easter. Likewise in the Region of Mur­ cia, you can attend the proces­ sions in your local area but the most popular processions are held in Cartagena City and Murcia City.
