RESIDENTS in Albox are warning others about a father and son who allegedly swindled hundreds of eu ros from local businesses and indi viduals, taking advantage of the community’s kindness. The pair arrived in the town claiming to be divorcees in need of a fresh start and established rela tionships with sympathetic locals who offered assistance. However, it later emerged that the men bor rowed money from kindhearted members of the community with out any intention of paying it back. Sums of money borrowed are said to range from approximately €200 to €800, while the pair also reportedly have outstanding bills with local bars. At least three de nuncias (complaints) have been made to the police, one of which the Euro Weekly News has had sight of. Residents are being warned to keep an eye out for two alleged scammers who are apparently operating in the Albox region.
suggest that these individuals may have a history of similar fraudulent activities in other locations includ ing Tenerife and Turre. Local resi dent, John Hillen explained “We are doing this to warn others and to put a stop to their activities if we can.”
While the allegations against the pair have yet to be proven, those affected are warning others to be cautious and have informed the ap propriate authorities. The pair al legedly drove a Nissan Niro car with the registration plate PN70 NGZ.
