MARBELLA’S Costa del Sol Hospital made waves on Saturday, February 25, as it joined in the global celebra tion of ‘International Day for Women and Girls in Sci ence’. The day, which was first adopted by the United Nation in 2015, is designed to draw attention to the lack of female representa tion in scientific fields and promote increased gender equality. Data from the hospital from the past six years has shown there to be an equal distribution of female re searchers in clinical studies and publications in high impact scientific journals, testament to the hospital’s commitment to gender equality. During the event, the hospital’s Research and In novation Department launched a campaign fea turing some of the hospi tal’s most talented and in novative women. These women shared their expe
riences, projects, concerns, and advice for aspiring fe male scientists. The hospital expressed its gratitude to all the women professionals who collaborated in the cam paign and research, thank ing them “for their work contributing to scientific advances.”
