MOJACAR is bringing forward the celebration of Valentine’s Day and has organised for this weekend ro mantic proposals that will last throughout Friday February 10 and Saturday February 11. The Mojacar Pueblo Traders’ Asso ciation, Mojacar Council and the Mariquita La Posá Women’s Associa tion invite all those in love or incur able romantics to enjoy a day of sur prises and a Mojacar that will make you fall in love even more in the days running up to Valentine’s. On entering Mojacar you can choose the romantic route, following the trail of the Indalos and arches of the lovers which will welcome all vis itors. The visit by the King and Queen of Hearts is expected from 6.30pm on wards, and as well as being able to enjoy the beautiful decoration by Ferrero Rocher, this will be comple mented by new illuminated romantic decorations, balloons and flowers. Meanwhile, the restaurateurs of the old town will suggest romantic menus and snacks for inspiration for the photography competition on the

route of love. For this competition, the rules of which are on the ‘Mojacar.es’ web site, you only need a friend, pet,
family member, or of course, boyfriend or girlfriend or spouse, and to find the snapshot that most de fines the moment.

Children’s marathon MORE than 500 chil dren gathered together to show their talent in the Almeria Children’s Half Marathon. The councillor for Sports, Juanjo Segura, has confirmed that Almeria kicked off the 24th Half Marathon ‘Memorial Ramon Ruiz Andujar’ on the right foot on Saturday, February 5. The first race at 5.00pm began with the ‘chupetines’ category. This was open to chil dren born from 2016 to 2021. This race was fol lowed by the under 10
categories, which in clude children born from 2014 to 2015. In addition, an inclu sive race was held for runners from the Asso ciation of Children with Disabilities of Almeria (ANDA). Later, the children of the under12 and un der14 categories ran to the finish line to put an end to a Saturday full of sport, joy and health. This was a solidarity event as 100 per cent of the proceeds from this children’s race will go to ANDA.
