PALMA City Council has launched an interactive map of the city, showing notable women from his tory and their fascinating legacies. The map, which was launched on Tuesday, January 24 aims to high light forgotten stories and celebrate Palma’s strong women. The map will form part of the Palma City Guide which is available for residents and tourists to browse. Project leader, Cristina Llorente ex plained the map is divid ed into five different cat egories with 36 points of interest to visit.

Launching the map, the councillor for City Planning and Sustainabil ity, Neus Truyol said, “This map aims to high light women’s stories who are all too often for gotten and left on the sidelines of history.” She added, “The invisi bility of women in histo ry is clear on the streets of Palma. Of the city’s more than 800 streets, only 75 are named after women.”
