A LOVING father, Michael Hook, aged 52, is embarking on an epic car journey in order to raise funds for Neuroblas toma Research in memory of his daughter, Isla Caton. Michael is driving 4,500 miles from Hornchurch to Marrakesh and will begin his challenge today, Thursday De cember 22, driving through France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and finally Marrakesh. He will be making a pitstop on Christmas Day at La Zenia beach and would love his local supporters to join him. The Isla Caton Fund was cre ated in memory of his beauti ful, brave daughter. Isla loved to sing and dance and in 2017 at just two years old was sadly diagnosed with highrisk neu roblastoma. Isla’s treatment began in the UK at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and while receiving intense chemotherapy, Isla de veloped a brain tumour, which she fought and doctors later successfully removed.

ISLA CATON: Her father is raising funds for children’s cancer research.
Whilst undergoing CNS treatment Isla heartbreakingly relapsed with spots on her bones and in 2018, her family were told her disease had pro gressed and she had just three months to live. The family ur gently fundraised and relocat ed to Barcelona for experi mental treatment. Isla continued to battle cancer un
dergoing a trial of ICE chemotherapy along with anti body treatment. In March 2019, scans showed that Isla was cancer free, but shortly after the dis ease returned and, in Decem ber 2021, her parents Nicola and Michael were told there was no further treatment for her and on January 25, 2022,
