MALLORCA’S top British chef, Marc Fosh, has swapped his chopping board for a guitar and gath ered leading local Spanish chefs on the island to sing for peace this Christmas and to raise money for the World Central Kitchen (WCK). Marc Fosh of Michelin starred restaurant ‘Fosh’ in Palma de Mallorca has composed the song Don’t Ask Me Why? and is the driving force behind an im pressive lineup of 13 of the island’s top chefs with the objective of raising money for the WCK to help with the extraordinary work they do. Marc’s song has been produced by local Mal lorquin musicians Jaime Anglada and Sergio Llopis and mastered in the Abbey Road Studios in London with a video directed by Spanish awardwinning photographer, Nando Este va. Founded in 2010 by Chef Jose Andres, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a non profit organisation that is first to the frontlines pro viding fresh meals in re sponse to crises, while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. STAFF STRIKE WORKERS at AENA, the Spanish airport opera tor, have confirmed that they plan to strike around the Christmas and New Year period, the Trade Union Con federation of Workers’ Commissions of the Balearic Islands (CCOO) confirmed on Tuesday, December 13. Other Spanish unions such as UGT and USO said their members will not strike and a spokesperson for AENA said that the govern mentcontrolled com pany will keep negotiat ing with CCOO and seek to reach an agreement with the union by Thursday December 22. If no agreement is made, workers affiliat ed with CCOO plan to strike on December 22, 23, 30 and 31 and then on January 5 and 6.
