FERRY-TALE ENDING IN spite of experts’ gloomy predictions, yacht tourism in the Balearic Islands has en joyed a successful season. Experts expected the yachting sector to suffer heavy losses due to the pan demic, the war in Ukraine and general economic uncer tainty. However, leisure boat registrations in the islands decreased only 5.6 per cent during this season compared to losses of 17.1 per cent in mainland Spain. The Balearic Islands accounted for two out of every 10 leisure boats registered in the nation. The associa tion representing nautical companies and boaters in the Balearic Islands (AENIB), stated that the marine tourist industry was facing the final stretch of the season
