SUN, SEA, SOUND FOLLOWING a summer of in credible performances from major international acts along the Costa del Sol, Craig David brought the season to an aweinspiring finale with a concert at Puente Romano on Thursday, September 15. Proving the coast is now the music destination for the world´s biggest and best acts, David rounded off a sizzling summer which played host to Simply Red, Texas, Simple Minds, UB40 Featuring Ali Campbell, Sister Sledge, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, and Kraftwerk. Performing all of his most wellknown songs as well as amazing mashups of classic R&B and House tunes as the sun was setting, David packed out the Puente Romano ten nis club. Getting the entire crowd on their feet, the artist sang his unforgettable songs including 7 Days, ReWind, I'm Walking Away and I Know You. Cleaning up THE Cruz Roja Española, in partnership with the Depart ments of the Environment and Beaches at Nerja Town Hall, has organised a cleanup session on Burriana beach as part of a new environmental awareness campaign. It will take place from the first aid station on Saturday, September 24 from 9.30am to 11am. UNICAJA has once again announced its basketball campaign “Our Province Plays” (“Nuestra Provincia Juega”), which aims to bring together lovers of the sport from all over the province of Malaga. The municipalities of Estepona, Nerja, Alhaurin de la Torre, Antequera, Benahavis, Rincon de la Victo ria, VelezMalaga, Marbella, Mijas, Torrox and Torre molinos will be participating in this edition. Antonio López Nieto, the president of Unicaja, said: “The whole season is very special for us, but we are going to dedicate the BCL Qualifying Round to our province. Each game will be dedicated to a municipality and there will be a Fan Zone outside the Martin Carpena Sports Arena from two hours before each game with tickets for residents.” “We are continuing to work with schools, who are going on visits to training sessions and get to see the sports arena and the club. Some of the kids who vis ited the pavilion last season are now season ticket holders,” he added.
